How To Win on LinkedIn

I used to think some people were just naturally good at stuff. 

And it made me beat myself up for it.

Writing online?
They must be natural writers. 

Cold outreach?
They're probably just born confident. 

Starting conversations?
Some people are just extroverts.

I gave up even before trying.

But none of it was actually hard. 

It was just unfamiliar.

My brain tricked me into thinking new = difficult. 

But new just means you haven't done it enough times.

I used to sit there piling up excuses.

Telling myself all the reasons why I couldn’t do it. 

Why it wasn’t the right time. Why I wasn’t ready.

But let’s be real…

Even I knew those excuses were BS.

You're not bad at it. You're just new at it.

And new is fixable.

Write the messy first post. 
Share the imperfect work.
Send the awkward DM.

Stop labelling “new” as hard.

And do it anyway.

Most people think they're bad writers. 

They're actually just bad at making people care.

Here’s how to make people want to read what you write:

Share insights, not information. Anyone can Google facts.
Nobody stops to Google your fancy words. Write simple.
Write short sentences. Easy to read = hard to ignore.
Don’t talk about your offer. Talk about what it solves.
Cut anything that sounds nice but means nothing.
Focus on ROI. What's the return on reading this.
Open strong. Your first line decides everything.
Ask questions. Get them mentally responding.
Use real situations, not “relatable” metaphors.
People trust confidence. Speak in absolutes.
One post = one idea. Save the rest for later.
Use numbers. “3 ways” beats “some ways.”
Break your text. Make it easy on the eyes.
Sell your stories before you sell anything.
Most readers are on mobile. Write like it.
Respect reader’s time. Get to the point.
Don’t write to everyone. Write to one.
Write like a human. Not ChatGPT.
End with something that lingers.
Hit their fear. Then solve it.
Use “you” more than “I.”

Everyone has something valuable to say.

Not everyone knows how to make people listen.

You just need to say something real, and say it clearly.

Document real experiences.
Write POVs that show how you think.
Talk about decisions, mistakes, pivots, pressure.

Create clarity content.
