Companies are still workers back to the office, with some getting rid of remote completely.

Every time I post about remote work, people in the comments argue that not all roles can be done remotely.

But about 75 million jobs (56%) in the US are remote-compatible.

Which means employers really don't need people in the office to get the job done.

Companies have this idea that people are taking naps, slacking off and constantly distracted.

The reality is that most people just want to ditch the commute, fewer office interruptions and more time with their families.

Employers like Airbnb, Atlassian, HubSpot, Reddit, Inc. and Spotify are all successful being remote-first.

I hope more companies join them in 2026!

Americans live to work, while Europeans work to live.

Saw a post on Reddit about a European employee logging off at exactly 5pm every day.

His American boss noticed that he's offline at exactly 5:01pm and asked why he wasn’t going the extra mile.

The worker replied to his manager by saying:

“In the Netherlands, if you can't finish your work by 5 PM... it means you are inefficient or understaffed"

The manager then wrote him up to HR, who laughed and told the worker to ignore his boss.

From that moment on, the American manager didn't send a single email or invite after 5pm.

Look, I’m all for hustling while you’re young and building your dreams.

But the older I get, the more I think the Europeans might be on to something.
