I am the managing director and founder of AKEA Life; the UKs first fully private and concierge doctor service looking after your health on your terms. 

I have 20 years experience in sales and marketing in the healthcare space. I studied as a lawyer before changing course into sales. I have a proven track record in developing, launching and running innovative healthcare businesses. 

Outside of work I focus my energy on my wonderful family, my own health and fitness and the odd round of golf.

🎤Designing bespoke health and wellbeing interventions for private and public sector clients. Responsible for delivering physical and mental wellness support to private and public sector clients to drive culture shifts across various sectors.

👉Lead on delivering wellbeing training to managers and employees, including behaviour change, physical fitness, mental wellbeing, nutrition and stress management. 

👉Conduct quantitative and qualitative company research producing reports to provide insights to current wellbeing challenges. Provide solutions to wellbeing challenges in line with the evidence base and company vision.   

👉Creating new wellbeing training services in line with current population needs and preferences. For example, wellbeing champions, wellbeing strategy, personal weight management, healthier habits and menopause education. In addition, provide regular mentoring to new and less experienced wellbeing practitioners to improve their delivery, knowledge and result-producing skills.

👉Provide regular mentoring to organisations on their wellbeing strategy, potential barriers and solutions.

Learning & Development Officer

--> Provide high quality delivery of a wide range of fitness qualifications to aspiring health coaches.

---> Educate on niche fitness markets including GP referral, Pre/Post Natal and Sports nutrition. 

--->Involved in internal/external verification processes, including assessments, delivery models and teaching resource development. 

---> Provide regular mentoring to new and less experienced tutors to improve the intern process, quality and development to meet the needs of the business

Commercial Fitness Tutor

---> Responsible for delivery of Level 2 and Level 3 Advanced Personal Training courses alongside continuous professional development including kettlebell and Suspension workshops, Advanced Nutrition and Business skills.

---> Lectured groups up to 40 students on anatomy, physiology, health, and nutrition theory using creative and varied teaching methods to cater for various student backgrounds and learning styles. 

--->Lead and assess practical sessions supporting a safe and effective exercise environment in line with awarding body standards.

Declan  Doyle - MRes, BSc, Pn1

I don’t often recommend books for personal or organisational wellbeing because much of them are written for sound bites rather than impact. 

But “tiny experiments” by Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD is a game changer. 

I’ve been promoting the idea of snap testing ideas in this space for years but still there are so many organisations and people who just want to “play it safe”. 

Tiny experiments is a roadmap that everyone should have in their pocket. 

P.S. I don’t know Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD  personally but secretly hoping I could interview her some day to pick her clearly clever brain 🧠
