This is the section, where I tell you about how my degree in computer science catapulted me into the world of tech right?

That couldn't be further from the truth,  I did a law degree at the University of Sussex, and realized very quickly that I didn't want to spend anymore time reading case law.

Worked for a large engineering company in London for a while, started moving up the corporate ladder, before deciding to relocate to Salt Lake City ( just to let everyone know there are far less pubs here)

I then found the world of technology and start ups & I haven't looked back.

I am extremely passionate about building relationships and tackling tough problems, specifically in the customer success and partnerships space.

I also have a personal interest in social impact and corporate social responsibility, so much so that I decided to start a business that focuses on B2B charitable gifting (check out Go Give)

In another life, I was the Head of Content at Close, the top CRM for small businesses. I've worked with dozens of Fortune 500 brands and growing startups, including companies like LinkedIn, Zendesk, Google for Entrepreneurs, Adobe, SoFi, Intuit, Gusto, CreativeLive, Teachable, and a whole bunch of other teams—teaching them how to grow with genuinely great content. Clay is a $3.1B SaaS company, and their best content is slowly drowning without a life raft in sight.

What's even scarier is that when I reviewed Clay’s content, SEO, and AI marketing strategy... I found a pattern that's plaguing the marketing teams at a lot of SaaS companies right now:

 👉 the “fun” new stuff gets the most attention
 👉 the high-intent, high-traffic content quietly decays
 👉 the role of *indexable* in-depth video content is dramatically undervalued
 👉 the alarming amount of traffic flowing to pages that AI can answer

Here's what stood out about the state of Clay's content...

First, the good news:

 ✅ their Dossier pages are AI SEO monsters, pulling in roughly 90k to 100k visits a month with simple Q&A style content, mostly AI-generated (Ahrefs estimates)
 ✅ their University education hub is beautifully designed, packed with deep, practical training on how to use the product and build sales-related skills.

Now, the bad news...

✔️ All that juicy University content barely brings in new people. It lives behind gated course flows and lessons, so search engines and AI tools don't really surface it.
✔️ Their blog is even tougher to look at. A $3.1 billion dollar company getting a few thousand visits/mo. The blog's SEO traffic spiked in mid 2024, and has since slid all the way down to a few thousand visits a month, even though the content is actually pretty good overall. 

I want Clay to recover their tens of thousands (potentially hundreds of thousands) in monthly SEO & AI traffic. So, I refreshed one of their most important blog posts, to show them exactly what I'd change... at scale.

Here's what's holding back Clay's blog content from driving more traffic:

 • No real expert author on all of their pots, often just the “Clay Team”
 • Hero images push the actual content & answer way below the fold
 • Their primary keyword phrase is often missing from the introduction
 • Lots of articles read like biased product documentation, not true guides
 • Too much fluff in the content, where many readers hit the back button
 • Lacking of AI SEO elements like a “key takeaways” section near the top
 • Many articles miss delivering on the true intent of the topic
 • Meta titles and descriptions aren't often designed for maximizing clicks
