I started my career as a writer.
Aka The Ghostwriter JB.
A little Black kid who loved to read so much her mum thought her brain would freeze.

It didn’t lol.

Over time, I discovered I had a superpower. People come to me to write things that are creative, bold, unconventional and, of course, witty. Words that feel alive.

That’s how I became a ghostwriter. I started with poetry and published an anthology in 2021. Writing has always been my first love.

But loving words wasn’t enough. I wanted my gifts to do more.

I realized I could use storytelling, strategy, and clarity to help nonprofit organizations do what they exist to do best: change lives. That’s when my work expanded into nonprofit consulting and grant writing, helping organizations secure the funding they deserve to scale their impact.

Today, I bring over 6 years of experience across branding and marketing, content strategy, nonprofit consulting, grant writing, ghostwriting, project management, and executive leadership.

My core specialties include:

💡 Grant writing and grant application management for nonprofits across Tennessee, Wyoming, Texas, Florida, Illinois, California, Louisiana, Arkansas, Minnesota, and beyond.

💡 Developing fundraising strategies, campaigns, and partnerships between nonprofits and social-impact-driven organizations.

💡 Ghostwriting memoirs, autobiographies, and books that carry truth, voice, and weight.

About 7 years ago, I founded FAVES_PEN Agency, a content, branding, and marketing agency that built campaigns for brands like Manners for Him (US), Dymax Corp, and others. 

Currently, I serve as the Chief Operating Officer of Fundraising at RUOVA Consulting, where I help U.S.-based nonprofits raise up to $1M annually through awarded grants.

More importantly, I am the Executive Director of PASS USA (Padoc Area Scholars Society), a nonprofit creating real pathways to access, education, and opportunity for South Sudanese youth, especially young women. This work is deeply personal. It is leadership, advocacy, and responsibility rolled into one.

My life quote is simple:
“I’d rather die than live without passion.”

As a Black woman who has been told too many times that her dreams were too big, I live loudly, boldly, and intentionally. If my life teaches one young Black girl that her dreams are valid—and that her bank account, her father’s name, or her skin color does not get to limit them—then I’ve done something right.
