What continues to amaze me about this space is how willing its leaders are to share their time, experience, and insights with founders like myself. The passion for creating real change in this industry is unmatched and it goes far beyond lip service.

A trend we continue to see is a shift to fractional HR and recruiting work. Personally, I think it's a great model for early to mid-stage startups, but I've found that later stage businesses trying to reduce internal headcount by going fractional end up actually paying more than just having a team in house 🤷‍♂️

Now I'm off to Dallas where 11 local leaders will be joining us before we cap off the week with more than 24 TA and people ops professionals in Atlanta!

SCALIS' last road show of the year for our Hiring Shouldn't Suck™ dinner series starts today and we're hosting in 4 brand new cities!

First up is Houston where I'm hosting 10 local recruiting leaders before heading to Austin tomorrow to host 15 attendees ranging from VP of People Operations to CHROs.

Then on Wednesday I'm co-hosting in Dallas with CNet Technologies Background Checks.

On Thursday, we head to Atlanta to co-host over 25 people and talent leaders with Donald Knight before capping off the week with the 1st ever edition of SCALIS' Recruit-a-thon (more to come on this).

One of the nicest things about no longer being in e-commerce is that I'll actually have a Thanksgiving this year and will be participating in Black Friday as a consumer from my couch versus making sure 50 different client's Klaviyo campaigns are performing well! 😅

One of the biggest takeaways for me from last night is that "corporate stability" has been a myth since COVID. There has never been a better time to go out there and start your own side hustle, consulting arrangements, or business.

Now I'm en route to Atlanta for the last SCALIS Hiring Shouldn't Suck™ dinner of the week! We've got a full house with over 24 local recruiting and people leaders joining us.

Stand-alone sourcing platforms are limited in how they're able to improve and optimize passive candidate recommendations for recruiters, but it's not their fault. They simply don't have access to the data - their feedback loop and reinforcement learning is only based on who clicked apply.

Here's how it currently works and where the breakdown is:
1️⃣ Recruiter sources a candidate.
2️⃣ Candidate responds or clicks apply.
🚫 Sourcing platform loses all visibility into that candidate - all they can see is that they clicked apply.
❓ Were they qualified or not? Which round of the interview process did they make it to? What does the scorecard data show? What is the AI interview notetaker picking up? What are they scoring on skills assessment tests? If they are rejected, why were they rejected? Are they a silver or bronze medal candidate?

There is an immense amount of data that gets trapped and dies in the ATS, with no feedback loop into the sourcing platform to improve and optimize results over time.
