We’re welcoming Josh McCallum and Jordan (Peek) Wolfe to the team. Both hires represent where we’re heading in 2026, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Over the last two years, marketing-led growth at Digioh has exploded.

Our pipeline is up 135%, 2025 outperformed 2024, and we’re seeing more interest from DTC brands than ever before. 

Between content, events, partner marketing, playbooks, webinars, and newsletters, our top of funnel is becoming increasingly diverse and multi-touch.

What matters now is activating more of that demand in the right way.

Traditional outbound is breaking under the weight of automation and AI-driven noise to a point where inboxes feel worse than the days when everyone was gifting AirPods for a demo.

What does work is nearbound: using real intent signals, context, and thoughtful 1:1 (human) outreach to close the loop between marketing and sales.

We’ve spent the last year rebuilding our funnel to support this — from lead quality to scoring to activity monitoring. Bringing Josh in is the next step in turning that system into a new growth lever. 

I built the MVP for this role myself, and the moment I met Josh, I knew he was the one to take it further.

At the same time, continued pipeline growth means continued investment in sales.

Jordan already understands Digioh from her time at Iterable and delivered one of the strongest mock pitches I’ve seen with minimal prep.

As Digioh moves further upmarket and into more enterprise-level conversations, having a seller who speaks both the customer’s language and Digioh’s is everything.

Honored to contribute to Klaviyo’s 2026 Marketing Automation Trends report.

2026 is the year of identity-first personalization.

A lot of the report reinforces what many of us are already seeing. 

Third-party signals continue to erode. Automation is everywhere. AI is quickly becoming table stakes. 

In that environment, simply identifying a visitor is no longer the advantage that it was in 2023 or 2024.

What matters in 2026 is what happens next.

Most platforms stop at identity. 

They help you recognize someone, enrich a profile, and pass that data downstream. 

But the onsite experience stays the same. 

Same pop-ups. Same journeys. Same timing.

That gap is where brands lose momentum.

In 2026, my big belief is that winning teams will move from identity to turning identity into action in real time.

Another night another SCALIS Hiring Shouldn't Suck™ dinner in the books - thanks to everyone who was able to make it out!

One of the biggest takeaways for me is how important compensation alignment is. When a hiring manager is telling you they want A-players with 10+ years of experience but you've got a mid-level compensation budget, you have a problem!

I continue to see that TA leaders are looking for more comprehensive solutions. That, combined with a push from leadership to do more with less, is pushing teams towards all-in-one solutions vs. building bespoke systems with point solutions.

The 1st SCALIS Hiring Shouldn't Suck™ dinner of the year was a great welcome back after the holiday break.

From CPO to Senior Technical Recruiter and everything in between, it was a great group of leaders with different industries of expertise, in-house vs agency vs fractional, and varying viewpoints which always leads to great conversation.

Something that stuck with me from last night is this idea that team members "can just tell" when someone isn't going to work out at a company. I've definitely experienced this firsthand and I think we can all generally agree this phenomenon is real, but what I'm now asking myself is if it's codifiable? Can we systemize this and build it into a product? I'm not too sure, but definitely some food for thought.

Finding scrappy ways to generate revenue as an early-stage startup helps a ton with cash flow and being able to further reinvest into the business without raising dilutive investment capital.

For example, our SCALIS early careers jobseeker newsletter with more than 200K subscribers.

Q3 of last year we migrated to beehiiv in order to start monetizing the newsletter with ads.

Fast forward to today, we're now reliably generating $10K+ a month in revenue through this channel. We're still able to engage and educate our jobseekers, but with light monetization I now have an additional $120K/year I can reinvest into the business.

Heading into the new year think about ways you can pick up some low-hanging revenue, but be wary to not get too distracted from your core business model!

A big takeaway for me is the unexpected budget increases TA teams have been impacted by because of the per-seat pricing model their platforms utilize and/or the need to stack a bunch of different point solutions on top of the ATS, in some cases 4x+ increases in just a year. The costs keep rising, but the outcomes stay the same...

I'm en route to Miami now to host our last dinner of the week! ✈️

In a world full of digital noise, I’ve never been more bullish on showing up in person and building relationships the old-fashioned way.

As an early-stage founder, we don’t have the luxury of $250K booths at HR Tech. But we do have our time.

Dinners are the sweet spot - we control the setting, the budget, the attendees, and we're guaranteed at least 90 minutes of interaction with the entire group. It's why I'm hosting 38 dinners in Q1 alone, Monday-Thursday night every week (excluding holidays).

Some tactical advice for other founders and early-stage teams that I've employed to make this GTM motion work:

1️⃣ Flights between cities are booked early AM or late PM so I can still have full days of demos and team meetings.

2️⃣ These are NOT sales events. The Luma invite shows we're hosting the event which leads to organic curiosity, but we're not using the dinner as a "trap" to then force our pitch onto someone.

3️⃣ Our criteria for attendees is wide: C-level through entry level recruiter, in-house & agency, fractional & full-time, etc. We're trying to build long-term relationships, not close a deal at dinner (though we won't say no 😉)

4️⃣ Keep it light, fun, and unstructured. We do one icebreaker about 10-15 minutes into dinner and that's it. Sometimes the conversation is 90% personal 10% work, sometimes it's 10% personal 90% work. I let the attendees shape the experience.

5️⃣ Encourage referrals and stay consistent. Because I hosted dinners last year and have continued to build the community around these events, we had 150+ RSVPs on the first day I launched the 2026 calendar.

6️⃣ Check your CRM before you start sending out cold invites. I have HubSpot segments for all 30+ cities that we reach out to before expanding our search with tools like Apollo and Instantly.ai

SCALIS is about redefining how companies connect with talent and it starts with relationships 🤝

I've been bearish on these AI mass apply tools for jobseekers and what value they ultimately provide so we ran a test with a prospect last quarter where they posted a job in their legacy ATS but ONLY let it show on their careers page: no job board distribution, no outbound sourcing, nothing else.

Within 24 hours, they had already received 533 "applicants" - a year ago they would've maybe received 5.

Not only were 90%+ of these applicants not even remotely qualified for the role, but the ones that were didn't even know they had applied to it, resulting in an abysmal drop-off rate from screening --> first interview.

Is anyone else getting bombarded by mass AI applications and what safeguards have you put in place to stop it?

Investor updates are one of the most overlooked habits for early-stage founders.

But for me, they’ve become one of the most valuable.

Yes, they keep investors informed and engaged. Yes, they open the door for help, whether it’s intros, hires, or pressure-testing a strategy.

But the biggest benefit? They force me to pause and reflect.

Each update becomes a checkpoint:
❓ What did we learn this month?
❓ Where did we grow?
❓ What still needs work?
❓ What are we doubling down on?

It’s easy to get caught in the chaos of building. Investor updates create a moment of clarity and some healthy accountability.

If you’re not sending them yet, start. Even if no one reads them, you will get better from writing them!!

Yesterday afternoon SCALIS hosted it's first quarterly "three things we're not doing we should be doing" where each team member brought 3 suggestions from their experience in Q4 that they think we should implement in Q1 of this year. It took us just over 90 minutes, but the team has never been more aligned around key areas of emphasis heading into the new year and I'm excited to see some of these initiatives roll out over the next few weeks.

If you're interested in trying something like this for your org, here are the 2 key tenants I learned from doing this at my previous business:

1️⃣ These are suggestions about process, how to create more SOPs, team bonding, back-office improvements, code optimizations, etc. We leave a separate space for product ideas and iteration.

2️⃣ NOT anonymous. There is a time and place for anonymous, but I've found this exercise to be way more valuable when I can actually work with the team member directly who made the suggestion. It also allows them to take ownership over seeing it through.
