I am also proud to share that Terry Dola will become President. Terry brings decades of global leadership experience from her time with The Walt Disney Company and she has an extraordinary ability to build cultures of excellence. She will guide our team and operations with vision and heart.

We are equally thrilled to welcome Alisha Mecier as Chief Revenue Officer. Alisha brings more than twenty years of experience in strategic growth and will elevate our partnerships across all sectors.

As for me, I will continue to play a very active role across our companies. As Chairman I will focus on strategic vision, new partnerships, brand building, global collaborations, podcasting, public speaking and opening new business opportunities. There are nights that remind you why you do what you do.
This weekend was one of them.

Analyn and I had the honor of joining the annual Denim & Diamonds Gala for xHope an incredible organization bringing hope, love, education and practical support to vulnerable youth and families across the Sacramento region.

34 Strong, Inc. was proud to serve as the Presenting Sponsor, part of our ongoing Mission to a Million, creating impact that multiplies beyond the workplace.

My friend Anthony Kavouras and I shared stories from our two decades of service on the XHope board, reflecting on the lives transformed through this work.

A special thank you to Chad Hodges and Vicki Yang for joining us at our 34 Strong table and to Chad for generously donating courtside Kings tickets during the live auction!

The night closed with an unforgettable performance by artist David Garibaldi, who painted a stunning portrait of Jesus and a child, in just five minutes.

Some moments remind you what truly matters, and this was one of them.

A year ago I stood at the wedding of a dear friend, asked to speak as they began their life together.
It wasn't a grand stage or a professional milestone.
It was something better.

Love.
Commitment.
Faith.
Family.

As I watched them make their vows, I thought about all the people who've shaped my own journey. Through years of travel and work, I've met incredible leaders and friends whose impact runs deeper than any business win. They've reminded me that success is temporary, but relationships are eternal.

We talk a lot about growth and achievement, yet at the end of it all, it's people who define our story.
The ones who challenge us, believe in us and leave fingerprints on our character.

My greatest accomplishment will never be measured in titles or timelines.
It will be measured in hearts.

In every friendship built.
Every moment of grace shared.
Every life I've been lucky enough to touch, even in a small way.

Legacy isn't built in what we own or achieve.

Grateful to be on Oahu this week with Analyn, and Daniel, celebrating Thanksgiving with our daughter Madeline and soaking up a little Honolulu beauty. The sights, the sounds, the food, the slow moments. All of it feels like a gift.

As a father of seven, I am always working to make sure each of my kids feels seen, valued, and appreciated. Madeline has lived here for four years, so taking the time to fly out at least once a year matters to her. It matters to us too. These little pockets of time together become the memories we carry for a lifetime.

If you have been waiting to take that trip, make that call, or lean into a moment with someone you love, this is your reminder to say yes. Make the memories. Invest in the relationships that shape who you are becoming. None of us will regret the time we spent with the people who matter most.

Ever thought you had your kid figured out, only to realize God was teaching you something entirely different? 

That was us.

Bailee was almost seventeen when we first learned her strengths. At the time we were trying to “figure her out” and eventually realized the issue wasn’t her. It was us. Analyn and I share the same #34strength, #Restorative. It is at the very bottom for both of us. And Bailee? She is #1Restorative! 

She had always felt like an enigma to us. We tried all the wrong ways to help her, usually by trying to make her more like us. That never worked and it never would. Then one day we saw her strengths and there it was. A beautiful reminder that God designs each person with intention. Nothing was wrong with Bailee. She was wired exactly the way she was meant to be.

From that day on we became students of our daughter. We learned the brilliance behind #Restorative and how to parent her from that strength instead of our own.

Fast forward to today. Bailee is a thriving salon owner, an incredible businesswoman, and in my humble opinion an excellent “hairapist”. Her cut, color, and extension clients line up for her and she is tough to book. Watching her walk confidently in her calling is one of my greatest joys.

To all the parents and partners out there. Sometimes the “challenging” people in your life are actually just misunderstood. Learn their strengths. Learn yours. It changes everything.

I recently sat in a meeting with a leadership team who couldn't figure out why their projects kept stalling.

They had smart people, good systems and clear goals.
But something invisible was holding them back.

When Analyn Miller and I first started raising our seven kids, we were learning in real time, balancing family, faith and business all at once.

There were nights when the schedule felt impossible.
Days when one of us was traveling, the other juggling school, sports and dinner.
And moments when we’d look at each other and wonder if we were really doing it right.

What we learned through all those seasons is that family doesn’t have to be perfect to be incredible.

There are weekends that fill your heart more than a whole year of busy days, this was one of them.

We celebrated Thanksgiving early this year and it felt extra special. All seven of our kids were home and we loved every minute of having the whole crew together!

Lola and Bpa took the grands for a night so the kids could go out, reconnect and enjoy time with each other.

The next day, we gathered for our Thanksgiving feast and a beautiful time of giving thanks to the Lord.

Mama Miller, our very own Analyn, led us in prayer and song and it set the tone for a meaningful moment of gratitude and worship.

Family time is a gift.
Faith is a gift.
And moments like these remind me what truly matters.

Grateful for a full house and full hearts!

Every year when the air starts to cool, we take a short drive about an hour from where we live in Sacramento up to Apple Hill. IYKYK

It's become a family tradition: fresh air, apple donuts and plenty of laughter with all our kids and grandkids who can make it that day. Pictures is our son-in-law Jordan (today is his birthday:-) and our granddaughter Jemma. 

No meetings. No screens. Just time together.

It's simple, but these are the moments that keep us grounded! The ones that remind us that success isn't only about what we build, it's about who we build it with.

In my role at Grinnell I was responsible for the oversight of Residence Life operations and New Student Orientation programming.  Provided staff supervision and development opportunities to a dynamic team of full time professionals (most of whom lived in the residence hall in their full time positions).  I worked with multiple student groups in my time at Grinnell to create inclusive student programs on campus, enhance the live-in experience at Grinnell, and increase safety and security for residents in our buildings.  As the Assistant Dean I served on the Deans and Directors on call team, providing support to students and staff during significant campus emergencies and communicating directly with concerned family members when the situation called for it.

The University of Iowa

In this role I oversaw an overhaul of orientation programming for new first-year and transfer students at the University, assisting in the implementation of specific and measurable program learning outcomes, and developed a strong culture of assessment to create data-informed program improvements each subsequent year.  I also worked with our professional staff to recruit, train and supervise the Hawkeye Guide team...some of the most dynamic student leaders (and for many...life long leaders) I've ever had the privilege to work with.  

I initially managed an annual budget of just over a million dollars which we were able to trim by 20% over the course of two years by enhancing program efficiency.  I also served on the On Iowa! executive advisory board, an extended orientation program introduced in the fall of 2011 to welcome all new students to the University of Iowa prior to the start of classes.  In addition, I taught several courses in an adjunct faculty role including an annual fall College Transition course and several phases of the Career Leadership Academy.

While working for the Residence Life department I provided direct oversight for for buildings of approximately 1000 and 350 residents in two different roles.  As you might imagine, there's never a dull moment when you start your career living in residence hall with hundreds of (primarily) first year students.  Never a dull moment.  In this role I provided oversight for Resident Assistant (RA) teams, full time administrative support staff, and a 24 help desk team.  I had the pleasure of consistently working with some of the most outstanding student leaders on campus in this role.  In addition to supervising student employees, I worked directly with elected hall government staff and provided advising focused on unique in-hall programming, and management of hall funds.  This role included service on a 24 hour duty rotation focused on emergency related to physical and mental health, incidences involving drugs and alcohol, and resident safety concerns.

Served as the Manager for the Latino Native American Cultural Center during my first year in Student Development in Student Affairs program at the University of Iowa.  In the role, I provided supervision for my first student staff.  I worked with a several student groups, hosting events in the center and assisting them in advocating for additional program funds.  In addition we partnered with several groups on campus to develop dynamic social justice programs focusing on safe for difficult dialogue focused on diversity and multiculturalism.
