Lead and coach two FP&A analysts in the provision of business partnering services to the ecommerce and at home party businesses including budget, forecast and revenue planning.

Key Achievements in this role

Created a financial modelling tool which generates a suite sales and KPI targets from a bottom up view. This enables a more granular view of store and regional performance which is grounded in sound assumptions regarding fundamental changes in core metrics; footfall, conversion, average unit rate and average units per transaction.

Created a new store and relocation analysis which realigned core comparatives to provide retail leadership team with a more meaningful view of new store performance.

UK Financial Planning ( FP&A ) Manager

Take a leading role in the creation, development and management of a central financial, planning and analysis function within a global medical devices business. Engage in ongoing improvement of existing reporting tools and continually strive to identify opportunities to introduce new methods, processes and procedures which will enhance the reporting structures and deliver added value.

Key Achievements in this role

Created and developed a pan regional weekly forecast and consolidation tool analysing revenue composition and EBITDA which also formed the basis of a template used by the market specific finance teams to partner with their corresponding general managers

Created a pan regional daily sales report which is used scrutinised thoroughly by the Developed Markets regional leadership as an early indicator of revenue opportunities and risks 

Created a functional business reporting pack and introduced this to the functional leadership teams which rapidly become the go to tool to enable effective management of their budget and forecast 

Improved the effectiveness of quarterly commissions reporting through extensive standardisation of reporting templates and wider engagement with the regional finance support teams

Developed a suite of standard analytical tools providing insight into key operational cost drivers

Created a contract tracking tool focusing on earned value and forward forecasting, coaching regional management in the importance of driving leaner operations and value adding efficiencies

Assisted in the benefit validation and analysis process for a programme of asset management and operational initiatives whose net value exceeded £250 million over a five year planning cycle

Created brand new benefit tracking tool in which the profile of benefit realisation followed an exponential growth function driven by project time frame and expected growth rate 

Developed the company wide benefit management framework as part of the launch of a new portfolio management function

Attended external training in benefit realisation management and advanced benefit mapping

Consolidate the monthly accounts of two foreign subsidiary’s, converting from local GAAP into UK standards ready for submission into parent company of large international travel company. 
Lead the forecasting and planning process, challenge the business units and drive cost efficiencies. 

Key achievements in this role

Developed a key working knowledge of the consolidation of several foreign subsidiaries of a complex business within a very short time frame to enable consistently reliable and accurate production of a set of consolidated accounts

Enhanced a suite of reporting tools reducing the month-end process time by half by consolidating the source data and query tools from four to one

Redeveloped and streamlined a key consolidation tool whose continuous uncontrolled adaptation and updating had resulted in it becoming too large, ineffective and time consuming 

Created a library of standard operating procedures to ensure the role remained effective and capable once the contract came to an end
