I’ll never forget the lemonade stand I ran when I was eight years old.

I felt unstoppable, scaling a startup’s community to 50,000 and its market cap to over $100M.

But then it happened—

The founder did a rug pull; crashing the project, wiping out millions & turned my world upside down.

I had my Mike Tyson moment—realizing everyone’s got a plan ‘til they get punched in the mouth.

I had no choice but to keep going. So, I pivoted back to financial consulting, managing $50M.

But my entrepreneurial passion persisted.  

I went all in to find answers, and noticed something remarkable.

I connected with countless freelancers, professionals, & companies all who had a similar story.

Applying for countless roles to find out the company or role wasn’t legitimate.

Performing work and not getting paid or taking weeks to receive payment on freelancing platforms.

Or hiring someone only to receive late or poor quality work, costing much needed time and money

I just needed a sign and during my conversations I made a striking discovery.

This week I made an inflammatory post about feminist propaganda

Apparently that wasn’t enough

Let’s do it again. ⬇️

Because when statistics are presented without context, they stop being data
And become narrative engineering

Earlier this week a woman shared a series of slides about angel investing.

The slides showed statistics such as:

👉 Female angels allocate ~35% of their investments to women founders
👉 Male angels allocate ~13%

At first glance the data looks shocking
But something important was missing

Context.

Across the startup ecosystem today:

⚡ ~75–80% are all-male founding teams
⚡ ~15–20% are mixed-gender teams
⚡ ~2–5% are all-female founding teams

So when a statistic says women investors allocate 35% of their capital to women founders, that number is already over-indexing relative to the share of female founders

The claim that women do not fund women from her slides is abhorrently false

Now let’s look at male angels investing in female founders

13% of male angel funding going to women is not bad either, especially considering that a significant portion of angel investing comes from close relationships, which men are statistically more likely to have with other men

And this is the real issue and why so many of us can feel frustrated with some of the feminist discourse

Data and context can often be distorted to create a victim narrative

Or my personal favorite:

⚠️ "I would love to stay in touch on ideas. I appreciate your time is valuable so let me know if there is another way to exchange ideas less formally."

💀 Translation: Give me free consulting but frame it as networking so I do not have to pay.

You would not ask a doctor for an informal surgery, would you? So why is it normal to ask for an informal strategy session?

When you reach out asking to "pick my brain," you are asking for the service I sell.

You want me to:

⚡ Review your pitch deck
⚡ Identify your blind spots
⚡ Audit your business model
⚡ Map your go-to-market strategy

This takes hours of my time and years of my expertise.

Framing it as a "quick chat" or "casual coffee" to avoid acknowledging what you are actually asking for is not the sly move you think it is.

And the moment I set a boundary and direct you to book through my Hubble link, you disappear.

How convenient 🙄

❌ And if you are not willing to pay, you are not valuing my time... you are trying to extract it.
