I’ll never forget the lemonade stand I ran when I was eight years old.

The founder did a rug pull; crashing the project, wiping out millions & turned my world upside down.

I had my Mike Tyson moment—realizing everyone’s got a plan ‘til they get punched in the mouth.

I had no choice but to keep going. So, I pivoted back to financial consulting, managing $50M.

But my entrepreneurial passion persisted.  

I went all in to find answers, and noticed something remarkable.

I connected with countless freelancers, professionals, & companies all who had a similar story.

Applying for countless roles to find out the company or role wasn’t legitimate.

Performing work and not getting paid or taking weeks to receive payment on freelancing platforms.

Or hiring someone only to receive late or poor quality work, costing much needed time and money

The year was 1995.

I was 15.

And I got on a flight from India to USA with nothing but a Rotary badge, an exchange letter, and a stomach full of nerves.

I had no phone.
No backup plan.
No Google Maps.
No certainty. No comfort.
No international roaming.
No way to call home without a calling card,
No idea how to pronounce half the food I’d eat.
Had never met the family I was going to stay with.
No Instagram to check what my host family looked like.

Just a handwritten address on a crumpled sheet and a belief that if I could figure this out, I could figure anything out.

That flight changed everything.

It made me fall in love with discomfort. It gave me a taste of independence that no textbook could ever teach. 

It was the first time I realised that You don’t build courage. You choose it.

Decades later, that one decision to leave the familiar still echoes in everything I do.

So I did what any content-writing, LinkedIn-strategising, storytelling mom would do: I wrote a book.

It’s messy. It’s real. And it might just make you laugh while your teen tells you, “Stop posting this, it’s so embarrassing.”

So, yesterday, when Jodie sent me a gift in my Dm's

Don't blame me for being delusional! :) 

I am the only Indian in that room. 
And this time, that room was Forbes.

It’s not every day that your work gets featured in an international edition of Forbes!

And it’s definitely not every day you find yourself as the only Indian in a lineup of global entrepreneurs doing pathbreaking work across industries.

When I first started ghostwriting for global leaders, I didn’t imagine it would lead to building a brand that would travel farther than I ever had.
