Over the past 30 years PVLA has provided legal services to thousands of artists and arts and cultural organizations in our region. Due to the tremendous dedication of nearly 700 pro bono attorney volunteers, PVLA continues to provide approximately $1 million a year in legal services.

PVLA, a part of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia (www.artsandbusinessphila.org), acts as a legal match maker to low income artists and small arts and cultural organizations by providing pro-bono arts related legal services through its network of volunteer attorneys.

In this position, I worked with the cultural community on issues pertaining to: entertainment law, contracts, intellectual property (Trademarks and Copyrights), real estate, digital media, entity formation, good governance, and other related areas of civil law. Duties included client intake, issue spotting, researching and reviewing appropriate law, composing memoranda, and pitching and assigning cases to volunteer attorneys. Also began development of a pamphlet discussing the intellectual property implications and considerations of 3-D printing.
