Three years ago, I was “the SEO guy.”

I wrote for Google first.
Humans second.

Intent over attention.

And there is a massive difference.

When someone searches Google, they already want something.
They are raising their hand.

Your job is simple:
Answer better than everyone else.

SEO writing is a drive-thru.

How emotion carries ideas further than logic ever could.

Slowly, something clicked.

I stopped obsessing over keywords and started chasing clarity.
I stopped tracking backlinks and started tracking behavior.
I wrote for humans first.

Ironically, my SEO got better too.

Growth stopped feeling fragile.
It started feeling inevitable.

Not because of hacks.
But because I kept showing up when it made no sense.

When I was tired.
When clients were on fire.
When posts got buried.

I still wrote.

That consistency built trust.
Opened conversations.
Closed deals.
Changed how I see the game entirely.

I used to understand how content works.

Now I understand why it sticks.

This is not explosive growth.
It is earned growth.

And at this pace?

Increasing follower count is 100% irrelevant.
Changing lives and removing fiscal anxiety is.
Only focus is on providing value and getting paid for it.

It is alignment plus consistency plus time.

Because once you understand how humans work, you stop chasing reach.

New Year’s Eve is behind us.

I started January 5th with a work sprint. One rock. One focus.

Here’s what separates people who adapt and those who don’t:

Most people blame external pressure. 

• War
• Gas prices
• Difficult year

Very convenient. 

Because then you don’t have to examine your own decisions.

But tough times don’t define you. You define how you respond to them.

In every downturn, a small group does exceptionally well. They didn't ignore reality. They adapted faster.

What separates them? 

Structure.

For me, 2025 was one of the best years on record. Most of that traces back to one decision: focus on recurring revenue.

Before that, my business was fragile. Revenue came in bursts. Planning felt theoretical. Every month was a reset.

That realization didn’t come from scrolling. It came from forcing the numbers to tell the truth.

Here’s what most people get wrong about planning:

They plan to feel organized, not to make tradeoffs.

Unrealistic plans create false confidence. Ignoring your capacity creates burnout. Never adjusting creates quiet failure.

The solution? Quarterly planning.

Long enough to set direction. Short enough to correct mistakes before they compound.

A real rock solves an active problem, changes future options, and creates second-order effects. If it doesn’t do all three, it’s not a rock.

Most ideas get eliminated at this stage. Nice-to-haves don’t change the game.

The cost of continuing as usual:

Busy weeks. Incremental progress. Another year where effort increases faster than leverage.

Poor planning doesn’t fail loudly. It fails quietly.

Planning isn’t about controlling the future. It’s about creating structure that allows good decisions to emerge.

The people who do well aren’t waiting for clarity. They create it.

A month ago, I flew to LA with a suitcase. I came back without it.

It was a solo trip - my first time in the past 3 years away from my kids and husband.

No work agenda. No calls.
Just pure girl time with my best friend of 15 years — the kind you’ve traveled the world with and don’t need plans to have fun.

We were so excited on the way back that when she picked me up…
we literally forgot to put my suitcase in the car. 😅

We realized it once we were already at LAX.

No time to turn back.

I didn’t care about the clothes or anything else in there.

Except my notebook.

The same notebook where I had outlined a brand-new contract I had just landed.

Timelines. Strategy. First-week priorities.

Thankfully, I sync and bookmark everything in my browser.

So I grabbed my old laptop and kept going until my main one was shipped.
Crisis averted. Lesson learned.

P.S. My suitcase is still in LA 😄
But I’m flying back tomorrow and will finally pick it up on the way back.

I just realized… building startups has been a consistent theme throughout my life despite my very corporate background.

At 25:
This photo was taken during a startup pitch competition at American Councils for International Education.
Out of 8 teams, my team won 1st Judges’ Prize 

At 23–24:
- Started my career at a Fortune 500 and spent 6 years there
- Was part of a startup team inside the corporation, leading the GTM for a new product category / innovative tech
- Led the go-to-market (GTM) + product launch end-to-end

Shoutout to my growth years at Philip Morris International that experience built my foundation

At 21:
- My graduation thesis was literally a startup business plan
- I pitched it to my French professor from Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III) in French (my 4th language… don’t ask me)
- Graduated with a Diploma of Excellence

At 20:
- Pitched a startup idea in my entrepreneurship class at Concord University  (nothing special, just wanted to tag them 😄)

And even earlier… at 18:
Participated in a business simulation by European Youth Parliament (EYP) where we had to create startups with supporting business plans and pitch to a jury.

My team won the Jury Prize.

I’ve also been a startup mentor, and one of the startups I supported is now growing fast  recently accepted into:
- NVIDIA Inception Program
- Miller Center for Global Impact Accelerator

And yes… a few startup businesses I launched and closed :D

Creating startups, taking them from idea → GTM → traction, and building something customers actually pay for and stick with…

Startup founders, have you ever heard of founder's block?

It’s when you’re the closest person to the product and the customer.
You do the calls, you know the pain, you know every feature and competitor…

…but when someone asks: “So what do you do?”
you suddenly can’t explain it in one sentence.

And it’s not because you don’t know.
It’s because you know too much.

Here’s a simple framework I use to help my clients get unstuck:

Start with WHO
“I help [specific audience]…”

Name the PAIN (in plain words)
“…who struggle with [one painful problem]…”

Say WHAT you do (no features)
“…by [what you actually do]…”

Promise the OUTCOME
“…so they can [measurable result].”

If this takes days, weeks, or months to fill out, you likely have a positioning problem.

When was the last time you mystery shopped your own funnel?
I mean actually became the customer.

✅ You search the keyword
✅ You see the ads (including competitors)
…and you ask yourself: would your ad really attract you if you were the customer?

Let’s say yes — you got the click 👇

✅ You land on the page
✅ You give it 5 seconds to understand what the company does

And in those 5 seconds your brain is deciding one thing only:

“Am I in the right place?”

Not “is this product good?”
Not “how many features do they have?”
Just:

✅ What is this?
✅ Is it for me?
✅ Will it solve my problem?

If the answer isn’t immediate…
there’s only one reaction:

…confusion.
And confusion kills conversions.

Now let’s assume you understand it in 5 seconds.

Give yourself 10 more seconds.

You scroll.

You’re trying to find basic answers:

What is this product about?

What does it do — and how?

Do I see proof?

Is it clear and specific?

Why this company vs the others?

Is there a pricing anchor?

What’s the next step?

If you still can’t find the answers fast…

confusion again.
And that’s where most people leave.

But let’s say you do finally understand it.

Now you give yourself 3 seconds to take action.

You look for the CTA button.

And if you can’t find it in 3 seconds, your brain does this:

“Aah… I’ll check the next one.”

And that’s it.
Tab closed.
Lead gone.
