The Real Estate Advisory & Transaction Services Group of CBRE Chicago assists municipalities, institutions, nonprofits and corporations, developers and owners by creating viable real estate strategies and successfully implementing those strategies. 

My work involves strategic advisory as well as project management of commercial development, transaction and consulting assignments. I specialize in public-private partnerships, ground-up developments, large-scale master plans, zoning and entitlement analysis, incentive agreements and financial structuring. I work closely with financing partners, government officials and construction personnel to achieve client objectives. 

To date, I have successfully structured transactions, negotiated development incentives and zoning density increases, as well as sold properties cumulatively totaling more than $200 million. I have also managed development projects valued at more than $100 million.

Chicago Infrastructure Trust

The Chicago Infrastructure Trust is the first municipal infrastructure development and investment fund in the United States. The Trust was created by executive order of Mayor Emanuel and the City Council. 

The Trust’s purpose is to assist the people of the City of Chicago, the City government and its sister agencies in providing alternative financing and project delivery options for transformative infrastructure projects. To accomplish this, the Trust structures innovative financing strategies to attract capital from a diverse group of investors. The Trust also achieves real risk transfer to third-party investors, creating efficient capital structures via cross-agency financing.

I managed the Real Estate and Economic Development, as well as the Transportation and Telecommunications project portfolios for the Trust. A few of my projects included:

•	4G: Designed and executed the financial strategy and negotiations on behalf of the Chicago Transit Authority securing $65MM in financing and lease commitments from AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon to construct the country’s largest and most advanced underground 4G wireless system at no cost to the City or CTA.

•	Uptown Theatre: Led the redevelopment initiative for the long-abandoned historic landmark Uptown Theatre as a major new multi-use entertainment destination, by assembling a top-notch development team (architecture, legal, finance, governmental, leasing, operating), and creating the business plan to obtain more than $130MM in pre-development commitments via Federal Historic Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, State and City Grants, EB5 and conventional debt.

•	CNG Fueling Network: Devised the Trust’s compressed natural gas project, a first of its kind $20MM public/private partnership leveraging cross sector fuel demand to facilitate a privately financed, publicly accessible fueling station network.
