Then in 2019, I stumbled across writing, more specifically, copywriting. It was pretty much love at first sight.

So I decided to go all in on writing online whilst being a bit of a nomad (I eventually ended up living in southern Spain).

I haven’t posted in MONTHS. I’ve been too busy AI-maxxing. Things I’ve automated right now:

– My caffeine intake
– My sleeping hours (I don’t need to sleep anymore)
– Every single letter of every single post I write (no edits)
– My morning thoughts
– My evening thoughts
– My opinions on AI
– My opinions on opinions about AI
– My personality
– My entire internal monologue
– My sense of purpose

I don’t need to do anything at all. My Claude Cowork Megatron 9000 does everything.

I just lean back in my chair and watch my entire life get automated before my very eyes while I smoke 6 pineapple iced Lost Mary vapes per day.

Fuck man… I haven’t actually had a genuine human thought in months.

I’m AI-maxxing right now chat.

I ain’t losing my job. I ain’t getting left behind. I'm ahead of the curve.

Thoughts?

What people think ghostwriting is: "Tell me your ideas, and I’ll write them."

The reality of ghostwriting:

Founder: “I don’t have many ideas. I don’t know what to tell you. My life really isn’t that interesting.”

Me: “Okay, tell me what you’ve been up to and what’s on your mind.”

Founder: casually talks for 37 minutes about crazy shit that nobody else I know has ever done in their 20+ years on earth, never mind a 7-14 day period. An obscene amount of productivity that ~80% of humans aren’t capable of. Worldviews, thought processes and a level of systems thinking that are on another stratosphere to the average mind. Stories you could create literal movies about.

Also founder: “I don’t know if that’s actually useful for you though”

Me:

People ALWAYS ask me how to come up with such magnificent, mind-blowing content ideas.

My humble take:

Ideas aren't the problem.

The problem is sitting down to write
and your brain suddenly decides it has
never had an actual thought in its miserable existence.

When someone says “can you just quickly…” then proceeds to send a list that’s longer than my entire fvcking future:

– Think of earth-shattering idea
– Write post
– Overthink every last detail
– Feel intelligent
– Post it
– Feel dumb
– Spot typo
– Die inside
– Edit post
– Hope nobody notices

– Get on with day as usual

Since then:

The only constant: figuring it out as I go.

My advice: try that thing that’s scaring, even if you don’t feel qualified (doesn’t have to be entrepreneurship - I actually don’t always recommend it).

How I changed my life:

1. I started waking up an 90 minutes earlier and completed the most important task for the day first

2. I created a vision of exactly what kind of person I wanted to be and what kind of life I wanted to live in 5 years time

3. I learnt how to talk to busy people

4. I stopped consuming content from 30 different voices and unfollowed 100s of people on social media

5. I set a high standard for the way I live and the way I wanted the people closest me to be

6. I surrounded myself with other ambitious people

7. I didn’t forget that none of it really matters

8. I put in enough reps to negate luck

9. I put myself in challenging situations to build my confidence

10. I started doing everything with intention and conviction

11. I remembered to laugh

12. I brainwashed myself into believing I could do anything

13. I moved to a new city and lived alone for 6 months

14. I live by a simple rule: if I won’t be worrying about this in 5 years time, I shouldn’t worry about it now

15. I move my body every day and don’t fill it with fake food

16. I started doing weekly reviews of my progress and performance

17. I stuck in there through some very hard times

18. I realised that the smartest way to success is to learn from other people who have already done the thing you want to achieve

Old way to build a business:

Let your work speak for itself.
Hope referrals continue.
Focus on the product.

New way:

Don’t just build a great product. Talk about it. 
Share your ideas and expertise online.
Be the best and the best known.

Your work won’t ‘do the talking’ like it would in 2015. 

Here’s how to do the talking for it (without overdoing it): 

1. Underpin with authority positioning
2. Share high utility content (stuff people will use)
3. Document wins in real time (feels natural that way)
4. Admit weaknesses (the Pratfall effect)
5. Be confident but not arrogant (confidence → trust)
6. Be the spotlight, don’t be IN the spotlight (big difference)

Remember: the role of a founder has quietly changed.

It used to be to run the company.
Now it’s to represent it.

The person buyers trust is the business they choose.

The easiest sale you’ll ever make is to the person who’s already decided you’re the answer. 

That’s why I post content to get people ‘sold’ before they even speak to us. 

Meanwhile most people are sending and spending their way to leads.

Instead, use content to become the authority.
