I didn’t own a cell phone until I started University.

In my environment, girls were kept "protected." 

→ The belief was simple: stay focused on your studies and wait until you are mature enough for the world.

My mother, who only completed 5th grade, made our education her life’s mission.

The most exhausting thing on LinkedIn right now?

Pods.

You know exactly what I mean.

They like every post first.

Here’s my honest take:

The time we spend forcing likes on random posts, could be used to make our own content better.

I know organic likes are slow. Sometimes you post and nothing happens. It hurts the ego a little.

But honestly?

That still feels better than typing “amazing insight 🔥” on a post you barely scrolled.

I’d rather grow quietly than fake excitement loudly.

If likes aren’t coming yet, fine.

Improve the post. Say it clearer. Post again.

Trying again is easier, than acting impressed all day.

Hard truth: The hardest job on LinkedIn isn’t growth.

It’s pretending in pods 😒.

2 hours creating a carousel = 1k impressions 

3 seconds writing a random comment…

I can spot an AI comment immediately.

But I wish I couldn’t.

Why?

Because they’re plaguing LinkedIn.

Killing people’s:

- Personal brands.
- Thoughts
- Creativity
- Authority

And in the process boring me into taking an extra nap.

Anyway let’s get to the good stuff.

How can YOU spot these comments?

1. No personal language. E.g. ‘I tried that..’
2. Lots of praise, but no unique thoughts
3. Usually ends with a boring question 
4. Em dash combined with the others
5. Sounds like a robot wrote it (it did)
6. Words that nobody actually uses
7. It could be a reply to any post
8. No specifics about the post
9. Repeats the post

Then you can decide if you want to:

- Reply
- Ignore it
- Block them
- Call them out
- Delete the comment
- Have some fun in response
- Call their family and make them aware of the LinkedIn crimes their loved one is committing.

Take your pick.

But remember this…

Your comment doesn’t need to be grand or the most exciting thing in the world.

It just has to be you.

How I'm creating my LinkedIn content strategy.

My full guide for 2026:

It's one thing having content ideas.

But with no strategy behind them, you're guessing and hoping.

So here's what I've been doing:

1. Identify who your audience is.

Without knowing your audience, your content won't land with them.

Think about their:

- Goals
- Problems
- Thoughts
- Current situation
- Dream situation

Then you can base your content around these.

This way you're speaking directly to your guidance, and you'll grab their attention quickly.


2. Create your content pillars.

These are the topics you'll base your content around.

Think about what you can talk about for hours.

I recommend choosing 3-5.

But you can break your main pillars into sub-pillars.

For example my pillars are:

- Canva
- Mental Health
- Content Creation
- LinkedIn Growth/Marketing

But I can break each of these down.

Let's take content creation.

- Content ideas
- Content design
- Content writing
- Content psychology
- Content specifically for LinkedIn


3. Have a series of goals for your content.

Without a goal for your content you won't know if it's successful or not.

For example I have:

- Growth 
- Authority building
- Personal

This could be different for you as I know there are plenty of freelancers and business owners.

So you may want to add 'lead generation/sales' content in your line up.

Whatever they are, make sure each piece of content is hitting one of your goals.


4. Now we're going to combine the 3 sections from above.

Choose a:

- Pain/outcome of your audience
- Content pillar
- Goal for the content

Then combine them.

This is how you create content that shows your expertise, is appealing to your audience, and works towards your goals.


5. Test. Analyse. Evolve.

Start putting out your content.

It doesn't matter if it doesn't perform well.

This is the stage of testing where we want feedback to find what works.

When something performs better than the average, analyse it.

Why did the post perform better/get better KPIs?

Break it down into a framework/set of rules that you can repeat in future posts.

Over time you'll have a set of post frameworks that you can use on repeat that are proven to work.

For the posts that underperform, analyse them too.

What didn't work?
What can be improved?

But keep in mind some may just not hit, and that's ok.

BONUS TIP: For your winning posts, try combing winning aspects.


To round up, a great content strategy should be ever evolving while aiming to achieve your goals and benefiting your audience.

(Read that again).

Because when you follow a strategy your results are in your control.

Create your LinkedIn content strategy for free

I was away from LinkedIn for 6 months.

These 12 things were OBVIOUS when I returned:

1. AI comments still run the show.

And by run the show I mean they're a plague on LinkedIn.
Want to stand out? Use your brain and show some personality.

2. Links in captions are becoming more popular.

I've seen people going viral and growing at rapid speed BECAUSE their posts have links in the caption.

3. Content that sounds human is still winning.

Where you can hear the person speaking to you through their words.
Write how you talk, it's so powerful.

4. Saves show content that is ACTUALLY helpful.

But the likes and comments may not reflect the same.

5. Building a strong presence prior to taking a break means you won't be forgotten.

6. Positioning appears to be the trending word at the moment.

7. Related to the prior point... Positioning is the trending word because a large creator spoke about it, now everyone is.

Remember to have some creativity and uniqueness.

8. AI whiteboard graphics are popular at the moment. 

But tbh I don't like how they look.

9. It feels like there is less 'educational' content, and more storytelling and mindset shifting content.

10. There are a lot more longer/detailed posts, and short/one liner posts (Both ends of the scale).

11. People still do celebration posts for every 1k, 500, 250, followers growth every other day.

At this rate there will be posts for growing 10 followers.

(Expect one for when I hit 15k though, it's been a while) 😂 

12. Lists and great formatting are still loved and make consuming content so much easier.


When you spend so much time on a platform you can become blinded to what's in front of you.

So I wanted to share what my fresh eyes have noticed.

1. Time-based experience.
2. Authority hijacking.
3. Contrast with your past self.
4. Mistakes/Failures.
5. Social proof without numbers.

5 ways to build instant credibility on LinkedIn 

This is why you're not growing on LinkedIn 

(From someone who grew 10k in 5 months)

You think you're doing all the right things:

- Making your profile look nice
- Posting content consistently
- Commenting daily

But none of those actually matter.

Here's what does:

1. Creating content that is unique, different and makes you stand out from everyone else.

The amount of posts I've seen where I can feel the AI structuring and wording, it's unbelievable.

Let me ask you this...

Why would someone follow you when there are 100 other people who basically share the exact same content?

If you want growth your content needs to be something people can ONLY find on your profile.


2. Be a person who benefits others.

Sure this can be through your content.

But don't forget about your profile, comments and DM's.

And remember 'benefit' doesn't only mean educate.

You could also:

- Relate
- Inspire
- Comfort
- Entertain
- Congratulate

It's about understanding what people want and need in any specific moment, then giving it to them.

So with every action you do on LinkedIn, think to yourself "Is this benefiting them?".


3. You don't share any kind of credibility.

This doesn't have to be monetary, or a certain number of clients worked with.

You can still build credibility without that kind of experience.

It could be sharing your own experience.

An amount of time you spent learning something.

X number of books read.

Learning from a well known person with authority in your niche.

Take this post for example.

My credibility is the 10k followers in 5 months.

But here's what else it could have been:

- I spent 4 hours on LinkedIn daily for 5 months.
- I analysed 127 LinkedIn accounts.
- What I learned from following Lara Acosta for 90 days.

You get the idea.

Not one mention of money, clients, or even growth.

But still building credibility.


So start being different, beneficial and credible.

I analysed 50 LinkedIn posts with 20+ reposts

Here’s the dark psychology and manipulation they use:

1. Creating social proof by reposting from their own company pages
2. Repost-gating: Offering a lead magnet/something of value for reposting
3. Asking to repost + sharing the benefit of reposting
4. Positive positioning: Makes the person reposting look good/positions them in a good way
5. Deeply emotional, new/trending, controversial
6. Recognition loop: Publicly thanking people who repost

6 dark psychology tricks to get more reposts

I forced myself onto 16 calls with strangers…

Even with social anxiety and being an introvert.

I had that discomfort that makes your stomach turn.

I wanted to close my laptop and avoid the situation.

For years, I’ve avoided:

- Calls
- Video chats
- Anything that made me feel exposed

Because social anxiety has controlled my mind and body for the longest time.

Then in November, I joined a live digital marketing bootcamp.

Which meant:

- Zoom calls every Monday & Tuesday
- 8 hours each days
- Strangers on the other side of the screen
- Cameras and microphones on.

Nowhere to hide.

The first day I felt so uncomfortable.
Questioning if I should just avoid it.

But I clicked “Join Meeting” anyway.

And over the weeks it’s become far less uncomfortable.

But had I not pushed through that first time, I wouldn’t have reached this point.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have a long way to go.

But I’m proud.

And I just wanted to say

If you feel that same discomfort.
You’re not the only one.

And it can get easier.

It just has to start with that first step.

I can’t stop thinking about this penguin…

But why?

Here’s some context:

A video of a penguin walking away from its group is going viral on social media.

And there are 2 reasons why I’m interested.

1. It emotionally hit me.
2. Breaking down why it went viral.

As someone who’s gained over 2 million impressions and 13k followers on LinkedIn, here’s why I think it went viral:

1. People see themselves in the penguin.

But the beauty is that they saw themselves in different ways.

- Courage
- Freedom
- Burnout
- Rebellion 

It was different for everyone. 

2. Powerful, emotional music

The right music will ALWAYS grab attention and help to hold it. It fit the scene perfectly.

3. Simple, calming voiceover

The voiceover almost has an ASMR like effect and beautifully narrates the story, making it clear what’s happening.

4. Powerful visuals

The visual of a lone penguin walking towards huge snowy mountains is not only a sight to behold but tells a story in itself.

5. Great storytelling

Humans love a good story. We’re brought up listening to stories.

And the best stories? 

They have an unexpected twist.

The penguin leaving is the unexpected twist.

6. It broke a pattern which creates curiosity.

We like patterns. It brings us order and feels safe.

So as soon as we hear the pattern of penguins staying in groups gets broken, we immediately pay attention.

7. The voiceover asks a simple question 

‘But why?’

This invites the people who watch the video to share their thoughts and ideas.

And most importantly…

8. It was real.

Social media is filled with AI now.

So a real moment of a real living animal, captured on camera by real human beings?

There’s something beautiful about that.
