But after looking for highly rated ice cream in dozens of states… I’m beginning to wonder if Utah actually has some of the best ice cream in the nation.

- Sweetaly (SLC and Holladay)

- Brooker’s (Wasatch Front, but franchising nationwide now)

And these are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head. 

Even famous freezer treats like Creamies and Fat Boy's are from Utah. And of course you can't forget the shakes at Bear Lake.

Am I over-estimating Utah’s ice cream game? Or are we actually elite with frozen treats?

Also, check out this package that showed up on my door last week. Best surprise ever – 6 flavors from Rockwell Ice Cream, and they are all outrageously good.

In my opinion, Rockwell and Blacksmith are in a serious fight for the very best ice cream quality in the state. Everyone else is just trying to catch up to those two.

Everyone keeps asking me to do Idaho colleges

(not a single soul on all of God's green Earth has asked for this).

So here you go, beggars. 

My ranking of the college sports logos in Idaho.

No one gets an A Tier. 

Idaho State, Boise State, and Idaho are all close to A Tier, but they miss it by a small step. 

Idaho State – too much detail in that bengal logo. It's rad, but unless you're a fan of ISU, you're not gonna remember which school that is. You might even mistake it for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Boise – the Bronco logo looks great on a football helmet, but scales terribly and is hard to reproduce by hand. Multiple points deducted.

Idaho – I actually love most of this logo, but the V in the wordmark feels like it was picked out of a totally different typeface and slapped into their script wordmark. Would be A Tier if they changed that letterform.

Other notes: 

Not a lot of good logo options in Idaho, unfortunately. Their smaller schools have some rough logos.

What in the world is Lewis-Clark State doing?? They have a nice LC monogram alternate logo that would easily make B Tier, but they specify in their branding guide that their ENTIRE wordmark is their primary mark. WHAT????
