The past 5 weeks I've been suffering from nasty headaches and double vision. Will you pray for my blood patch appointment tomorrow at 6am?

I woke up 4 weeks ago with debilitating headaches, and after several rounds of doctor appointments, blood work and CT and MRI found

1. I have lymes disease
2. I have a pinhole size leak in my spine, causing my brain to sag, headaches and double vision.

my Pastor at church asked me 2 weeks ago for an update after he saw my prayer request. I mentioned I was trying to see a specialist, and that I was scheduled for January.

he asked if it was a certain neuro opthamologist and I said YES. He knew him.

he sent a text and I saw him the next day and discovered that my problems were likely not lymes but rather the spine leak.

tomorrow I go in for a blood patch at 6am.

Will you pray with me?
1. PRAISE - That I was able to connect with the specialist
2. For a successful procedure tomorrow and
3. No more headaches and healed double vision

Thanks to my wonderful family for driving me around, picking up the home and jobs a lot more and bearing with my pirate patch.

6 Months ago we marked a moment my son will never forget.

Alongside three other dads and their sons, we celebrated the transition from boyhood to manhood.

Inspired by The Intentional Father by Jon Tyson,
we built a full day of adventure, challenge, and blessing.

→ Sunrise bike ride
→ Hearty breakfast with the dads
→ Time at the gun range
→ All-out paintball battle
→ Knighting ceremony at an overlook in St. Paul
→ And a feast at Fogo de Chão to finish the day

Each dad stood before his son, sword in hand,
and publicly declared,

“You are now entering a new season and chapter, may you trust in the Lord 
With all of your heart, all of your strength and all of your soul”

Now is the time for more young men and women to rise up
→ the journey is just beginning
→ the real work of shaping, praying for and guiding
→ the input from peers, and wise grandparents

But we need more:

More intentionality.
More fathers speaking life.
More moments that mark the shift from child to adult.

Let’s raise sons who know who they are
and daughters who know what kind of man to look for.

This book was a catalyst but the vision was inside.
I want Isaac to know
→ who he is and whose he is
→ who he is becoming
→ and take steps of courage to continue to learn

It doesn’t happen overnight. (This is a season)
I’m not expecting perfection (more will be learned through failure)
I’m going to fail (but we have one to look to who is perfect)

1. invite a neighbor for a meal. It sounds so challenging, but increase the scale of your recipe

2. take a few extra minutes to rake your neighbor's yard. We all have trees.

3. bake an extra loaf of bread. We're getting into the sourdough, and it's easy to 2x the recipe

4. create something beautiful and share it. Recipe. Art. Music.

5. offer to bring in the mail when your neighbors travel.

6. offer to take care of (shoveling) or other items when your neighbors travel.

7. drop off a card with a picture and a note of what you appreciate about your neighbor.

8. drop off a gift card to your favorite restaurant; just spread the joy!

9. serve food at a local kitchen or pantry.

10. Say "no" to some invitations so you can say yes to the right ones.
