Body Transformation Vs Health Transformation

Had a great chat with the editor of a well-known London City newspaper about his health and fitness journey. 

• He's a 43-year-old busy professional.
• He has to commute to the office every day
• He has events and lunch meetings
• He has a lot on his plate

He described to me his previous efforts to get in shape.

Over the years, he had been through 2 body transformation programmes with well-known (very good) London-based personal trainers.

He shared his before and after shots; he looked incredible.

But here he was talking to me about his desire to run through a third body transformation programme.

We chatted for a while about his goals, his commute, and his business responsibilities.

Put yourself first.

I used to say yes far to often:

→ Uncommitted clients
→ Events I didn’t want to go to
→ People misaligned with my values

All this did was keep me stuck.

→ Overworking.

→ Doing 100 things but failing at 95% of them.

Eventually burnout happened.

That’s what it took to make me realise my issues.

Loud people are usually trying to:

How to stop  shrinking around loud people

Being hard on yourself isn’t the recipe for success.

It’s the recipe for burnout.

If I could go back:

I’d be kinder to myself.

→ I’d stop pushing.
→ I’d stop forcing.
→ I’d stop proving.

I thought negative self-talk
drove me to do better.

But eventually it drove me to burnout.

Eventually I realised beating myself
was my nervous system reacting.

I was telling myself:

→ You’re not worthy
→ You don’t deserve this
→ You’re not good enough

All because of ideas I’d internalised since childhood.

Eventually I learned how to let go of these thoughts.

I expanded my capacity.
Rewired my nervous system.
And became ready to receive more.

If negative self-talk is damaging you:

→ This is your subconscious
→ Pushing through won’t fix this
→ Your nervous system is the root cause

And once you fix it,
the results will follow.

You don’t need to become someone else.

How to build unshakeable confidence

Stop putting yourself last.

Others will do the same.

Most women undervalue themselves.

→ They devalue the work they do
→ They undercharge for their time
→ They understate the results they can get

So people take advantage of them.

Clients pay less and demand more.
Friends steal time with little thanks.

You end up running around
trying to please everyone.

But getting no appreciation.

This WILL continue until
you start valuing yourself.

Here’s how to do it:

1️⃣ Put a £ amount to your time
↳ Don’t work for less than £x per hour
↳ This removes the emotion

2️⃣ Benchmark your value
↳ How much do similar people charge?
↳ Make it objective

3️⃣ Know why you undervalue
↳ Do you feel like an imposter?
↳ What are you afraid of?

4️⃣ Work on your internal beliefs
↳ Most of this is rooted in childhood
↳ Rewire your subconscious to know you are enough

Pushing harder won’t help.

You’ll end up working more,
with less time for yourself,
with zero appreciation.

Stop pushing harder.
Start valuing yourself.

I used to think money = happiness.

At 50 I realised true happiness is about alignment

Aligning your conscious desires
with your subconscious programming.

Most people are in internal conflict.

But they seek titles and money

→ Working more = success

In business, these traits lead to:

Here’s how to make it stop:

Nothing destroys you more than saying:

→ “You don’t deserve this”
→ “You’re not good enough”
→ “You’ll never be successful”

It makes you scared of trying.
And it keeps you stuck.

These intrusive thoughts
often stem from childhood.

We’re conditioned with beliefs.

They live in our subconscious.
And they dictate our actions today.

Here’s how to overcome negative self-talk:

2️⃣ Look at what you’re doing
↳ When does it kick in?
↳ What is it stopping you from doing?

You can’t just push through.

Friday’s “𝑾𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒉𝒐…” Mic Drop Live event in Oxford, hosted by the brilliant Sandra Garlick MBE, was nothing short of electric.

I was honoured to step onto that stage and share a few mindset tips alongside some seriously powerful and inspiring women.

🎯 Dr Clare Roberts-Molloy, founder of TEDx Wolverhampton, gave us TEDx-level wisdom and left us with a line that truly stuck with me:

It was a timely reminder of how many brilliant women are building businesses that absolutely deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated—and how critical it is to learn how to share your story in a way that builds trust without losing yourself in the process.

Also loved catching up with Hazel Turner, Sheila Smith, Gita Raikundalia and all the other incredible women in the room. You know who you are. 💫
