I didn't find this out myself. Someone in Singapore told me.

I was chatting with Canaan Poh, and I asked how he discovered GenZtea — expecting the usual answer. A friend. An event. LinkedIn.

He said: "I just asked ChatGPT."

I had to try it myself. I typed "top Gen Z community in NYC" into both tools.

GenZtea came up. Both times.

Here's the thing: I never intentionally optimized for this.

But looking back, I think a few things helped:

→ Consistent niche focus — I've talked about Gen Z + NYC + community for YEARS
→ Volume of content — 5,000+ members, 21 countries, hundreds of events
→ Being cited by others — Business Insider mentions, LinkedIn posts, podcast appearances
→ Clear positioning — "Gen Z community in NYC" isn't vague. It's specific and searchable.

If you want AI tools to find YOU, here's what I'd focus on:

→ Own a specific niche + location combo (don't be everything to everyone)
→ Get mentioned by others in your space (backlinks still matter, even for AI)
→ Create consistent content around your core topic
→ Use clear, searchable language in your bio and posts

AI search is becoming the new Google. And most people aren't thinking about it yet.

So if you're looking to:
