As the visionary creator of the world's first digital detox and wellness festival, I designed an immersive experience that blended the energy of a festival with the restorative power of a retreat. The events brought together a diverse community, including indigenous people, in breathtaking natural settings. The festival garnered widespread recognition and was even dubbed "Burning Man's younger, cooler cousin" by the Wall Street Journal.

My innovative concept earned numerous industry accolades, including awards from The Times Style Magazine, Tatler, and Conde Nast Traveller. The festival's extensive media reach, exceeding 5 million people, was amplified by my skilful outreach on digital channels. The event was a tremendous PR and digital success, establishing a new standard for experiential events in the wellness space.

I’m Fatoumata Diallo, the founder and CEO of Gamaal Ltd. My journey has been anything but linear.

February 2023 changed everything, At that time, I lost my job. I was housing and food insecure. As a mother, I had no choice but to push forward.

I was faced with two options. One, find another job or to build something of my own. The decision was clear.

Armed with vision and determination, I immersed myself in research. Fear was real. But my mission was more real, and it was to create something bigger.

It's a movement rooted in purpose and faith.
Gamaal was born not just a platform but a transformation.

At Gamaal, we celebrate home-cooked meals as stories, culture, social impact, and economic empowerment. We help home cooks, especially women turn their culinary skills into financial independence.

Why should an Asian mother hesitate to try West African food? Why shouldn’t a West African household explore Middle Eastern flavors?
