Last week, I met Vineeta Singh  
 and it reminded me why grounded leaders leave the deepest impact.

Before I even said hello,
she smiled and said -
“I love your outfit!”
(That one line says everything about her energy.)

We didn’t get long to talk. She’s loved everywhere she goes, but the few minutes we had felt effortless, warm, and real.
And yes, we clicked a picture (of course 😄).

But what stayed with me wasn’t the moment…

It was what she shared at B2Believe about personal branding.

Here are the lines that hit me as a B2B marketer, founder, creator, and someone who has lived on LinkedIn for over a decade:

Before I could “crack” LinkedIn; LinkedIn cracked me.

There was a phase when I:

Watched others go viral
Posted consistently
Showed up daily

And still felt invisible!

Low reach.
Zero leads.
Plenty of self-doubt.

That’s the part nobody glamourises.

People now see the growth. They see collaborations, community, consistency, and credibility.

What they didn’t see:

The nights I rewrote the same post 5 times.

The days I wanted to quit but still posted.

The experimentation that failed publicly.

The learning that cost time, money, and ego.

My LinkedIn growth didn’t come from “hacks”. It came from clarity + courage + compounding.

CLARITY to know:
💡 Who I serve.
💡 What I stand for.
💡 What I will never dilute.

COURAGE to:
Post even when it feels uncomfortable. Say no when growth demands alignment.

Today, LinkedIn gives me:

💙 Conversations before conversions
💙Community before clients
And that changed everything.

If you’re in the “silent growth” phase right now-
🛑Don’t STOP. 

Your numbers may be quiet, but your foundation is getting loud. And one day, the platform will echo back what you kept showing up with.

Consistency always COLLECTS.

A small moment I loved: when I walked up to say hi, we vibed instantly, and she opened LinkedIn on the spot so we could connect.

Such a genuine, grounded gesture from someone leading growth at scale.

P.S. What’s one metric you think B2B teams should stop obsessing over?

“Take LinkedIn Premium if you want to grow faster.” That’s the advice everywhere.

And I get why people believe it.
When you want growth, you look for shortcuts.

More reach.
More visibility.
More messages.

But here’s the truth most people avoid:

Premium doesn’t create growth.
It only amplifies what already exists.

And this is where most people go wrong:

They buy tools before they build skill.

Then when results don’t come,
they blame the platform.

I’ve built multiple accounts.
Generated consistent leads.
And crossed 100K+ followers…

WITHOUT using Premium at the start.

Before any upgrade, here’s the real growth plan that actually works:

→ Write content that builds trust before asking for attention
→ Add comments that move real conversations
→ Build connections aligned with where you’re going, not where you’re stuck

These DON’T need a subscription.

Because here’s the uncomfortable truth:

If your content isn’t connecting…
If your comments aren’t starting conversations…
If your network isn’t intentional…

No tool can SAVE that.

And the cost of ignoring this isn’t just money.

It’s:
🚨 Burnout
🚨 Lost confidence
🚨 The silent belief that “LinkedIn doesn’t work for me”

Real success looks different:

You show up with clarity. You earn trust through consistency.

Your name starts carrying weight. And conversations turn into opportunities.

So before you buy Premium, ask yourself one honest question:

Do I need better tools…
or do I need to show up better first?

Because tools amplify effort.
They never replace it.

P.S. I do use LinkedIn Premium today… but only after the foundation was already built.

The myth is all around that if you have LinkedIn premium, then only your LinkedIn growth becomes predictable, and you can grow on Link, but the fact is that you can grow without LinkedIn premium, but first you need to nail down three important things. The 3C of LinkedIn growth number one content, you must share content on LinkedIn and for that you don’t need LinkedIn premium. Shraddha is a LinkedIn growth coach and she has built her following from 0 to 140 K is a great example, because I had zero, I mean I had no premium of LinkedIn then second C is if you have LinkedIn premium, you can you know double down that process, but at least when you are starting, you should not have LinkedIn premium of think a lot in this picture. The best career advice I ever got didn't come from a podcast, a book, or a search engine.

It came from a 30-minute conversation with someone who had already walked the path I wanted to take.

When I was pivoting industries, I had all the usual fears - Am I too late? 

Will I be starting from scratch? What if I fail?

So I did something simple: I reached out to 5-7 people on LinkedIn who were already doing what I wanted to do. Not everyone replied. But the ones who did? They changed everything.

Here's what I've learned about networking on LinkedIn:

❌ It's not about collecting connections. 
✅ It's about building real relationships with people who've been where you want to go.

❌ Don't wait until you "need" something. 
✅ Start conversations early. 
✅ Ask thoughtful questions. 
✅ Offer value when you can. 
The best networks are built before you need them.

Be specific in your outreach. Instead of "Can I pick your brain?" try "I saw you transitioned from X to Y - I'm curious how you approached that change. Would you be open to a quick chat to help me do the same for my career?"

Follow up and stay connected. A single conversation can change your career, but ongoing relationships compound over time. Give back when you can. Once you've made progress, be that person for someone else. The best networks work both ways.

Even today, when I'm stuck on a business challenge or exploring a new direction, I lean on my network. I ask questions. I learn from people who've already solved the problem I'm facing.

Because the truth is - real-life solutions don't always come from search engines. Sometimes they live in conversations with people who've been there.

Professionals say their network is still their #1 source for advice at work, ahead of family and friends, search engines, and even AI tools
