As PR, Marketing & Brand Development Manager I am responsible for leading the Vinopolis brand to build and deliver ambitious brand growth plans for the exclusive Wine Tour, 7 event spaces, 4 bars and restaurants, Laithewaites wine shop and Whisky Exchange. Managing all marketing and PR activity across the Vinopolis brand, developing and delivering an innovative agenda that focuses on increasing sales revenue through influencing retail, commercial and marketing activities. Communications & Engagement Manager - Estates & Facilities/ PED/ Connected Campus (contract)

Real Links

Real Links is a venture capital backed company which is transforming hiring through their employee referral tool and leveraging internal talent with their internal mobility tool.

Duties included:

- Drafted creative communications materials to maximise engagement across company communication channels, including email, Slack and Teams. 

- Managed a diverse client pipeline of up to 15 professionals, leveraging organisational and analytical abilities to synchronise conflicting demands within tight time constraints without compromising work quality or integrity. 

- Devised, deployed and monitored campaign plans and communications strategies to utilise internal talent within company mobility pools, enhance the overall customer success journey and transform hiring functions through employee referral tools.

- Conducted GAP analysis to review all internal processes and standards, identify change opportunities, align best practices and promote operational, cultural and financial transformation.

Engagement Manager (contract)

Costain Group PLC

Costain is a British construction and engineering company headquartered in Maidenhead, England. Founded in 1865, its history includes extensive housebuilding and mining activities, but it later focused on civil engineering and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities include:

•Working with the Directors of Internal Communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources and Strategy to refresh and integrate the business’s narrative, values and behaviours in conjunction with their strategic growth plan
•Advising the Director of Internal Communications on embedding a fit-for-purpose communications and engagement model into the business. Recommending a streamlined approach by moving away from a traditional and voluminous ‘top down’ to ‘two-way’ bottom-up engagement framework. This also includes repositioning the internal communications function as the central point of the employee experience cycle
•Submitting the business case for incorporating an impactful digital workplace adoption strategy (including the introduction of a social collaboration platform) to align with the organisation’s external digital capabilities ambition 
•Collaborating with the Directors of Internal Communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources and Strategy to deliver the Exec-1 leadership conference launching one of the strategic growth programmes 
•Built and managing the Exec-1 leadership Teams channel for this audience to engage and submit their leadership conference content
•Developed a post-conference feedback survey. Used the results data to produce a metrics report and evaluate the impact. Also recommended solutions to audience feedback
•Project managing the post-conference ‘The Costain Story Digital Toolkit’ - a suite of interactive support materials accessed via Costain's learning and development platform
•Preparing the interactive ‘Power of Storytelling in the Workplace’ guide to assist the Exec-1 leadership team with cascading the refreshed culture assets to their teams

Change & Communications Lead (contract)

Unilever

Unilever PLC is a British-Dutch international consumer goods company headquartered in London, England. 

With online shopping continuing to stake its claim as the world’s fastest-growing retail channel, Digital Commerce is one of Unilever’s top growth drivers. Covid-19 triggered such huge disruption that, in some markets like the USA, we saw many years of growth within three months. In 2021, between the impact of the pandemic and the Digital Commerce team’s hard work as well as specialist expertise, the business increased by a massive 61%.

Responsibilities included:

•Delivering the Communications strategy and plan, both internally and externally – across owned and earned media. A large focus on driving engagement with the internal learning programme and business transformation
•Working with the leadership team to advise and strategically increase visibility via various communication channels such as the SharePoint, Yammer, webcasts, podcasts, articles, events, newsletters, and external social media
•Supporting the strategy and Operations team as a Communications Business Partner
•Line managed one direct report and 40+ Communication Champions to share and align best practice across the global business
•Coaching colleagues on effective way to navigate the post-covid hybrid working via the digital workplace eco-system
•Project managed the development and introduction of the Digital Commerce culture book
•Created toolkits and presentations as required and assuring the learning programme has active Digital Commerce participation in key corporate Unilever moments and events as required
•Advising on, designing, and rolling out employee engagement initiatives to help maintain multidirectional dialogue throughout the organisation
•Crafting dialogue for impactful internal and external storytelling. Using an ‘outside-in’ perspective to effectively upskill the wider organisation in storytelling
•Worked with the VP and Strategy team to deliver livestreamed events and townhalls

Communication & Engagement Manager - Global Digital Commerce (contract)

Metropolitan Police

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is the territorial police force responsible for law enforcement in the Metropolitan Police District, which currently consists of the 32 London boroughs excluding the City of London’s “square mile”.

I work in the Business Change Transformation Team with a dotted line into the Directorate of Media and Communication.

Having arrived nine months into the large-scale change programme for the new recruits learning pathways (the Policing Education Qualifications Framework - PEQF), I am leading on strategically developing and integrating the communications plans with agile deliverables.

From a tactical perspective, I am responsible for delivering and evaluating the change communication strategies. This involves working with key stakeholders such as HR and Learning & Development in a matrix organisation to ensure the communication products created and channels used sync with the business and target audiences’ needs. 

In addition to the above tasks, I have designed a Diversity & Inclusion engagement campaign concept which aligns the employer brand with that of the external facing brand. With just under 3% of Black officers currently making up the Metropolitan police force, the objective of this targeted engagement campaign is to help meet the ambition of our officers reflecting the diverse communities they serve.

Change Communications Manager - Transformation (contract)

Shell

The centre for maritime expertise within Royal Dutch Shell which provides specialist knowledge, assurance, technology and innovation solutions across the Group. The centre is at the forefront of new maritime digital technology, further enhancing safety, reducing emissions and lowering costs.

Internal Communications Lead responsible for implementing and driving employee engagement into a globally dispersed audience. 

Responsibilities included:

• Business partnering with various departments in a matrix structure to deliver timely and innovative internal communication campaigns and toolkits to the relevant audiences
• Trusted strategic adviser to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Collaborating with the Strategy and Performance Excellence Manager to support the SLT in using their authentic voices to connect the organisation’s hearts and minds to strategic deliverables 
• Working with the Senior Strategy Adviser to deliver the new strategic intent. This involved developing and rolling out a global engagement programme to help connect the business with the new strategic levers as well as to ensure every employee knows how they contribute to the organisation’s success
• Creation and deployment of Employee Engagement analysis programme to sense check the organisation’s pulse and use the measurable insights to embed a ‘people first’ culture
• Introducing and managing the Communications Champions network in response to the 2018 engagement survey results. 2018 = 42% participation rate. 2019 = 75% participation rate 
• Optimising the digital workplace and applying it as an enabler to drive workplace culture. Championing the use of Yammer and Microsoft Teams to increase engagement, collaboration and agile ways of working
• Project and Event Managing the Shipping & Maritime’s ‘Women in Maritime’ initiative 
• Aligning with the Trading & Supply Internal Communications (IC) Adviser and the Shell IC Centre of Excellence network for consistency and employer brand purposes

Global Communications Adviser - Shipping & Maritime (contract)

Transport for London

An integrated transport authority with nearly 30,000 employees responsible for running the day-to-day operation of the London’s public transport network and, managing the Capital’s main roads.

Responsibilities included:

•	Working in a team of seven to help deliver employee communications to 4,000 Surface Transport employees. Taking on Business Partner activities as the directorate undergoes a transformation
•	Advising on, designing and rolling out employee engagement initiatives in response to recent staff survey results, the updated Mayor’s Transport Strategy and the business performance scorecard
•	Business Partner for London River Services: Helping to enhance their visibility within TfL and increase passenger journey numbers
•	Social collaboration platform specialist: Working with the digital communications team to increase the number of Yammer users and engagement levels with the Surface Transport directorate 
•	Providing strategic advice to different business areas about the best channels for communicating and engaging with their audiences  
•	Producing channel analytics reports  (including a periodic Yammer engagement dashboard report for the Surface Directors) and reviewing the statistics to inform the way in which we communicate with employees and impact on business results
•	Event Management: Coordinating the logistics for leadership and specialist insight sessions. Analysing the impact of the current insight sessions structure and giving a recommendation for the structure post-transformation. Managing the Sli.do platform at various meetings across the directorate 
•	Working with the Head of department to deliver the Mayor’s Transport Strategy to our internal audiences
•	Channel Management: Producing weekly newsletters, designing posters, writing and publishing intranet articles, creating digital signage and publishing leadership messages on the Poppulo (formerly Newsweaver) email platform

Employee Communications and Engagement (interim contract)

With over 7000 employees and a leading global provider of modular, mobile power and adjacent product solutions, I joined Aggreko on an interim basis to help develop and manage the employee communications channels. 

As Aggreko did not have a globally established communications infrastructure prior to our arrival, our small team put all hands to deck and joined the dots across the business. With this in mind my role evolved to also being a Group Functions Business Partner, Employee Engagement Lead, Newsletter Editor, Content Manager, Business Transformation Project Manager and Culture Change Coach. This postition allowed me to work across a dynamic range of disciplines including internal communications and employee engagement, brand and marketing, digital and creative services in a fast pace environment.

 In just under a year, the results of the team's dedication and collaboration has seen the communications function move from the edge of the matrix organisation towards the heart of it, proving our strategic value. 

For our team’s work with creative agency, HOME in delivering Aggreko’s new purpose and values, we are shortlisted in CEB’s ‘Building a Powerful Corporate Brand’ award category and won Highly Commended. We are also shortlisted in the Institute of Internal Communication 2017's 'Best change communication' and 'Best ongoing campaign' categories for our work on embedding the new 'Always Orange' culture.
