Equipped with this intel, I started investing in my copywriting training. I dedicated myself to studying all the greats from the past 150 years. 

Guys like Robert Collier, Eugene Schwartz, David Ogilvy, Gary Halbert, and Claud Hopkins.

After studying the greats and paying my dues for years as a "shameless whore" copy cub--accepting all the crap jobs that pay a mere pittance...

For the next 30 days, I won't eat/drink from sunrise → sunset.

This is not some extreme productivity hack.
Nor a hunger strike.

This is Ramadan.

Most people know it as "the fasting month."

You see the banners in grocery stores
And on streets that say: "Ramadan Mubarak!"

But it's goes so much deeper than that.

The main goal of Ramadan is to attain what's called:

تقوى 'Taqwa' = God Consciousness. 

Being mindful of everything you do
Knowing God is always there.

For 30 days, you step back.
You slow things down.
It's a full on reset.

You become hyper-aware of everything.

Your thoughts become clearer.
Your spirituality deepens.

And with no food, no water, no shortcuts

You start filtering what goes IN:
- The food/drink you consume
- How much you consume
- The things you see
- The things you hear

And are more careful with what goes OUT:
- The things you say/do
- The places you go
- The way you treat others

You reflect on who you've been and who you want to become.

In a world that never stops moving
Ramadan forces you to pause.

It's disciple in its purest form.

From dawn to sunset, every single day.

It builds a muscle most people never train:
→ The ability to say "no" to yourself.

That discipline carries into everything.

I spent 10 years as a recruiting leader.

The candidates who keep advancing aren't always the most qualified.

They're the ones who show up more prepared than everyone else.

Anita didn't get multiple offers because she was lucky.

She got them because she prepared like no one else.

Here's my exact playbook that gets you to final rounds:

Step 1: Study the Company Like You're About to Invest

Most candidates skim the website and call it research.

Anita treated every company like she was about to invest her life savings.

(Hint: you ARE investing — not money, but your time and career.)

Here's what she researched:

→ The product/service — what does it actually do?
→ The customers — who are they solving problems for?
→ The problems — what pain points does the company address?
→ Recent news — funding rounds, leadership changes, product launches?
→ Competitors — who else is in the space?

She used:
- Company website (beyond just the homepage)
- Recent press releases
- LinkedIn posts from leadership
- Glassdoor reviews
- Google News

When she walked into interviews, she could speak their language.

Step 2: Map the Job Description to Your Resume

This is the step most candidates skip entirely.

Before every interview, Anita would:

→ Print the job description
→ Put it side by side with her resume
→ Draw literal lines connecting her experience to their requirements

Every bullet point they needed? She had a story ready.

She wasn't saying "I can do that."

She was saying "Here's exactly when I did that."

Step 3: Prepare Stories, Not Hypotheticals

Most candidates speak in "would do's."

Anita spoke in "did do's."

For every major requirement, she prepared a story using this formula:

→ What I did + How I did it + The outcome

She wrote them down. Practiced out loud. Recorded herself.

By the time she walked in, her answers were tight. 

No rambling. 
Just proof.

Step 4: Prepare Questions That Show You Mean Business

At the end of every interview, Anita asked 'Success Factor Questions':

→ "What are the biggest challenges this role will tackle in the first 6 months?"
→ "What would make you say I was a great hire a year from now?"
→ "What does success look like for this team?"

These showed she was already thinking like an employee.

Step 5: Follow Up With Intention

1. I figured out my superpower

Not "I'm a hard worker."
Not "I'm a team player."

I got specific:

1) What do I do better than most people around me?
2) What do people constantly come to me for?
3) What energizes me AND creates results?

You stop trying to be EVERYTHING.
You become known for SOMETHING.


2. I made it visible to the right people

Doing great work in silence is a career killer.

I made sure decision-makers knew what I was delivering.

1) Shared wins in meetings (without being obnoxious)
2) Volunteered for projects where leadership had eyes
3) Built relationships with people 2-3 levels above me

The higher-ups didn't have to guess what I brought to the table.

They already knew.


3. I let my work attract opportunities

When I switched jobs, I didn't chase.

My work was visible enough that they found me.
(Even today, I still get headhunted)

Same thing with my business:
- I showcase what I do best.
- Clients come to me because they've seen it.


Most people can't tell you what their superpower is.
↳ They think "I'll just go with the flow until it works"

Most people wait to be discovered.
↳ They think "Iif I just work hard enough, someone will notice"

Habibi, that's not how it works.

But there is good news:

If you know what you have to offer
+ Who to offer it to
+ You make yourself visible

Opportunities are no longer options

They become destined for you.
