If you want to hit 1M+ monthly impressions on social media in 2026 then read this carefully (and bookmark it for later):

- Post 5x per week minimum without fail. Most brands quit after week 3. Consistency IS the algorithm hack everyone's looking for.

- Every piece of content must pass the Rule of 3. Does it add value? Educate? Make them laugh? If not, don't post it.

- Short-form content first, repurpose second. Test on TikTok/Reels, then adapt winners for YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn.

- Set an audacious goal publicly and update weekly progress. Build in public, especially when you miss. Vulnerability drives 3x more engagement than winning.

- Create characters people can relate to. Our IT guy with a lisp got 6,000 shares because he was human, not a product demo. B2B buyers share content that makes them feel something.

- Test everything for 60 days before killing it. Most marketers quit at 30 days, right before the algorithm figures out your audience. Get real data, then either 10x it or move on.

- Build machines around winners. Test → find what works → systematize → hand off → find the next thing. Your job is building systems, not being the talent.

- Know your ICP so well you can predict what makes them stop scrolling. Not demographics. Psychographics. What keeps them up at 2 AM? Answer that and you own their feed.

- Make content about work itself, not just your product. Own the humor in meetings, deadlines, office culture. That's the biggest whitespace in B2B nobody dominates.

- Break the pattern of what they expect to see. If your content could work for any brand with a logo swap, start over.

- Cap video budgets at $3K-$15K even with more money. Some of our best content came when we were broke. Constraints force creativity. High production screams "ad."

- Build 12 internal influencers, not just your founder. One person can't carry your entire brand forever.

- Track impressions first, conversions second. You can't convert people who never see you.

- Platform-specific content, not lazy reposts. What works on TikTok dies on LinkedIn. Adapt the idea, don't copy-paste.

- Engage with every comment in the first 60 minutes. The algorithm watches how you react to your audience. Comments are free distribution.

- Test ridiculous ideas that don't make sense. Our most random D-tier concepts have become some of our best A-tier performers. The market tells you what works.

- Never celebrate one viral hit. Going viral once is luck. Monthly is a system. Build the system, not the post.

The brands hitting 1M+ aren't smarter, they just stopped overthinking and started shipping.

Our ClickUp Comedy IG has 414K followers, but our main brand account only has 397K. That's not a mistake - it's the strategy (and it's working). Here's what you can learn from a single company running 5 distinct Instagram accounts..

Most brands fight for attention on one account. We built an ecosystem instead (read the entire post and it'll make sense).

We run 5 different Instagram pages:
➝ ClickUp (main brand)
➝ ClickUp Comedy
➝ ClickUp Memes
➝ ClickUp on the Street
➝ Tips with ClickUp

Each one reaches a different audience.

Not everyone wants to follow "ClickUp" the company account. But they'll gladly follow ClickUp Comedy or ClickUp Memes.

Here's where this strategy gets really cool though.. We joint-post across all of them.

So if ClickUp Comedy has a video that hits 1M views? We joint-post it to the main account. Now the main account gets the reach without losing its identity.

The comedy page is growing faster than our main account. And that's perfect! It's by design because that way we're not competing with ourselves. We're building multiple distribution channels that all feed back to one brand.

Most B2B brands are still trying to figure out one account. We're running 5 and figuring out what content resonates with different audiences 5 times as fast.

Thoughts?

We've posted thousands of videos at ClickUp. The ones that go viral all have these 5 things in common (save this):

A great video isn't luck. It's science.

(1) Shareable. If people don't want to hit the share button, it's not good enough. The real test is asking yourself if you'd send this in a group chat? If not, it's not ready.

(2) Commentable. You can make a great video, but if there's nothing to say about it, it won't go viral. People need a reason to engage. Give them one.

(3) Strong hook + headline. The headline is the first thing people see. "POV: You just started a new job" tells them if it's worth their time. Get it right or they scroll on by.

(4) Pacing. Is there a part where it gets boring? Cut it. One slow moment kills the whole video. Seriously. Be absolutely ruthless here.

(5) The button. Does it end well? Great endings make people rewatch or feel satisfied. Weak endings ruin everything that came before.

Most teams nail 2 or 3 of these. You need all 5.

But the one that matters the most is shareability. If it doesn't make someone hit share and send it to a coworker, the rest doesn't matter. That's the real metric.

The real problem is that marketers get stuck in a box. Even the most successful ones fall into this trap sooner or later.

You start creating the same type of content, thinking the same way you always have, and eventually stop seeing what's possible.

Stop saving drafts, overthinking, and waiting for the "perfect" post.

Let the market tell you what works.

I've posted thousands of videos and what I can tell you from experience is..

→ Videos I thought would flop went viral
→ Videos I thought would go viral totally flopped

You never actually know until you post it.

The data only exists after you click post. Then you can double down on what works.

But most people never get there because they're stuck in draft mode.

Here's 4 stupidly simple steps you can follow..

(1) Post it. Even if it's not perfect. Especially if it's not perfect.

(2) Track what happens. Did people share it? Comment? Save it? That's your signal.

(3) Recreate what worked. Found a winner? Make 6 more versions of it with different angles & hooks for the same idea.

(4) Kill what didn't. If it flopped, move on. Don't defend bad content.

Click post. Let the algorithm do the rest.

In the early days, ClickUp had one goal: ship features faster than our competitors. But we were a 5-person dev team & we couldn't afford a huge QA department. So we turned our bugs into a "feature".. We told our users:

"Find a bug? We'll give you free ClickUp."

Our most engaged users became our bug hunters. They'd test every feature, report issues, and we'd fix them immediately - sometimes same day.

Then we'd message them: "Fixed. Shipped today. Thank you."

This did three things:

(1) Gave us free QA from people who actually cared about the product
(2) Built loyalty with early users (they felt like part of the team)
(3) Let us ship 10x faster than competitors who were stuck in release cycles

Our competitors were planning quarterly releases. We were fixing bugs before lunch.

The lesson is that speed usually beats perfection. Your users would rather have new features with occasional bugs than wait 6 months for a "perfect" release.

Embrace the chaos. Fix fast. Keep shipping.

→ Actors know what feels natural in the moment
→ Spontaneity creates authenticity
→ The best ideas come when you're not forcing it

Most brands are too rigid & they stick to the script no matter what. That's a huge mistake.

Yes, you need a plan & structure..

But you also need to trust the people you hired.

If your actor has an idea, let them try it. If your writer wants to test something new, give them space.

The best content comes from a careful mixture of structure and chaos.

Plan it. Then let them play.

Don't believe everything you see online.

Money is great. It gives you the security, choice and freedom to do so much cool shizz.
 
Imagine being able to run a little organic hobby farm growing veggies for your local community. that's some good shit.
 
Being able to fund scholarships for people who'd never get the chance otherwise. that's some good shit.
 
Being able to donate a mega tonne to the people pulling plastic out of our oceans. that's some good shit.
 
My ultimate goal has always been to retire every single one of my family members so they never stress about money in their golden years. I will do it one day. 

and it's gonna be some good shit.
 
You shouldn't hate the concept of making money just because there's a bunch of hustle bros in your feed who hoard theirs to compensate for whatever void they're trying to fill.
 
Stack as much as you can, secure your family, then figure out the coolest ways to give the rest away.
 
Ideally to animals, nature, or the arts. Not more crap from Instagram ads - most of those are scams anyway.

Damn dude.

Honestly, no shade. He's totally right, but it still stung like shit. 

Last year, I was working 60+ hours acting like it's a flex. 

It's not. It's really not.

Unless you want to be a hustle bro or a grind set gal - then power to ya 

But for me, 2026 is about changing the equation of what's realy important before we die:

From: "How do we make the best videos?"

To: "How do we spend the most time with loved ones — using video as the conduit?"

It's tough to say goodbye.
But honestly? This feels like a relief.

October 2025. I looked around my apartment.

Dirty dishes stacked in the sink. Piles of recycling I'd been meaning to take out for... honestly, I don't even know. Toenails I hadn't trimmed in weeks.

I was working 10-12 hour days.

Did you know in 1930, the economist John Maynard Keynes predicted we'd be working 15-hour weeks by now? Apparently technology would free us.

Instead...

In 2026, Silicon Valley is pushing 72-hour work weeks. The "996" schedule — 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week — is becoming standard at AI startups.

The irony is almost poetic.

The people building tools to "save us time" are working nearly five times what Keynes imagined we'd need.

And I'd argue the rest of us are on the same treadmill.

If you want to know the best benchmark for what's important to you, think about what you're going to be most proud of when you die. 

That's what I did. And I failed the test 😅

"more revenue" and "more followers" aren't the end goal

This is my wife, Jenna

She likes to sh*t her pants (apparently)

In November, I almost burned down our business.

3 days straight I was a mess.

Just sat there pounding coffee and nicotene gum. Barely working.

Every message felt impossible.
Every task felt pointless.
FOR REAL ready to quit everything.

Jenna walks in.
Says nothing.
Just makes more coffee.
Sits down.

"I see you. I hear you. What do we need to do in order to enjoy the process?"

I just stared at her.
Couldn't answer.

Because I hadn't thought about ANYTHING but work in months.

That night we went to a movie.
First time in 4 years.
4 years.

Sitting in that theater (watching Bugonia) I realized - we'd been so deep in the trenches we forgot why we started building in the first place.

1. so we could buy a home
2. so we could have a family 
3. so we could spend time with them

and that question - "what do we need to do to enjoy this?" - has saved us multiple times now.

Last Summer when I was burned out.
Dec 2024, when we first launched and were terrified
Every time I'm ready to burn it down, she asks it.

And every time, the answer is simpler than I think.

Do what you f*cking love.

And ask yourself:
"Will we be proud of this when we die?" 

She cares about what we're building as much as I do.

But she also cares about US.

You can chase all the wins you want.

Won't mean sh*t without the right person in the trench with you.

I was deep in 10-12 hour days. Telling myself "this is what it takes."
 
I don't fully regret it. We built something I'm proud of. But somewhere along the way I started measuring the wrong things.
 
Hours worked instead of hours lived.
Followers gained instead of memories made.
Engagement instead of... being engaged with my life.
 
I was helping a client hit 120+ leads in 10 days last week. I'm SO stoked for him. 

But it forced me to ask myself some uncomfortable questions:
 
→ Do your kids love you? (Or will they?) 
→ Did you do something today that filled your cup? 
→ Are you building toward MORE time with loved ones?
 
We all know "the algorithm" is bullshit when you're dying.
 
Yet we're terrified of it anyway.
 
Jenna (my wife) and I decided we want to see the world before we start a family.
 
So we just... booked a one-way ticket. No return date.
 
This isn't me saying quit your job or burn it down.
 
It's me saying: the life you actually want? 
The one you keep pushing off?
 
You're allowed to want that.
 
You're allowed to build something you're proud of when it's over — not just something that performs well while you're alive.
 
If you're building a life that you'll be proud of when you die..

I see you. You ain't alone. Let's get this bread.

As a wannabe Dad, I'm always juggling 3 things: 

"Am I ever going to buy a home?"
"Will I be able to have a family?
"Am I moving closer or further away from these things?"

The average home price where I live is $951,365

The average price to raise a child to 17 is ~$325,000

That's why I do what I do.
The simplicity of being a Dad and buying a home.

It's got me through the hardest founder grinds.

And I can't f*cking wait.

Your why IS your purpose.

After f*cking this up for three years, I realized there's only three things you really need to do to make money online as a coach, consultant, or agency owner using videos.

2. Stack as much proof as possible
(This builds time under attention + trust) 

3. Run offer sprints
(This converts warm leads)


You can be doing "all the right things"...
posting consistently, following the playbook, staying visible - 

and still feel like you're running on a treadmill.

That's honestly a system problem.
 
The version of you that's been grinding won't bring in $1M of pipeline in 10 days

not because you're broken, but because the model is incomplete.

You just have to cut unnecessary actions that keep you in that loop.

Bummed not to be grinding my 30's away at a desk all Winter, but I wound up chopping down Christmas trees in the Canadian Alpine.
 
Jenna and I stole 45 days off LinkedIn to spend time with family and slow down. 

Potluck dinners where everyone contributed. 
Watching Batman the musical (hilarious, by the way). 
Board games until we lost track of time.
 
Most people would call that irresponsible. Taking 45 days off LinkedIn in the middle of building a business.
 
But when I looked back on 2025, I realised the points that stand out in my memory were the points that I WASN'T working.

birthdays
aniversaries
holidays
 
And I'll remember the Christmas we spent in the Alpine with her brothers and her mom. The potluck where everyone brought something. How Jenna's face looked when we finally chopped down that tree.
 
We're building video systems that get people off social media.
 
But not by grinding away the only years we'll have together like this.
 
By saying yes to the days that matter.
 
By taking 45 days to recalibrate when we needed it.
 
This is how we build legacy. Not someday. Not after we've "made it."
 
Right now. With the people who matter most.

It was horrible.

Nobody had fun.

The CEO of LinkedIn is calling me because he wants me to stop ruining the platform.

Not only that, I'm pretty sure that Josh Lowman, Magali De Reu and 🏴‍☠️ Bill Yost want to shave my beard off.

As terrible as it was, it also brought in...

- 123 followers + 22 connections in 1 day (>300 total)
- 28 email subscribers in 1 day (>65 total)
- The live had 704(!!!) comments + 11k+ impressions
- 3 new amazing friends

Not bad for a lil' 45 minute video cry sesh.

Looking at my data, tips and tricks are getting f*cking wrecked right now. The algorithm calls it AI slop from a mile away and it's done.

But here's what I find interesting.
 
It's not that tips aren't valuable. 
They're just not...you.
 
Anyone can list 8 stages of a funnel. The ones who break through are the ones who can flip how you see those 8 stages.
 
Tips add. Tipping points transform.
 
(Read that again.)
 
Alex James literally got 8,000 followers from one carousel last year doing this.
 
Not tips. A tipping point. A reframe so visceral people had to follow to see what else he'd flip upside down.
 
That's the game now in 2026.
 
You're not competing on information anymore - everyone and their grandma has ChatGPT.
 
You're competing on perspective.
 
Can you change how someone sees something they thought they already understood?
 
Can you make people question the lens they've been using—without making them feel stupid for using it?

that's how you get people to buy into your unique way.

Last week I woke up from this message from my client. 
She booked a sales call with her first post.
 
Massive changes this month. All good, but huge growth sometimes comes with pain.
 
Last year we hit $221K. Also burnt out working way too many hours.
 
So 2026 is about building systems that give us our lives back. 

We just landed in Thailand this week without a return ticket.

I'm trying not to think about it because it feels crazy.
But it's also the most excited I've been about life since I became an adult. 

This one thought always rings through my mind: 

"build a life you're proud of on your deathbed."
 
And I've realized it's not just about me anymore. If I can't help other people live their dream lives, I'm not doing my job.
 
Seeing clients spend time with their kids, land awesome gigs, be f*cking happy... well that's the point innit?
