You can’t scale a team on hope.

Most leaders think they have a system.

Most teams don’t realize how fragile their pipeline actually is.

I worked with a team that looked strong on paper.

They had decent territory coverage.

You don’t fix a rep’s confidence by giving them more motivation.

They think their issue is mindset.
They think they just need “to believe.”
They think confidence shows up before competence.

But every stalled rep I’ve coached followed the same pattern.

They avoided real discovery.
They softened their questions.
They hid behind “relationship building” instead of leading the call.

Here’s where deals died:

They never took the buyer deep enough.
They never quantified the cost.
They never created the urgency the deal required.

So I taught them CICSR the way it’s meant to be used — with pressure, sequence, and control.
→ Context to ground the conversation in reality.
→ Issue to expose the friction they kept glossing over.
→ Cost to make the buyer say their own pain out loud.
→ Solution to co-create the future instead of pitching features.
→ Resistance to surface the objections early so nothing blindsided them later. 

→  The shift was immediate.
→ Their questions sharpened.
→ Their confidence finally came from evidence, not hope.

Your confidence doesn’t grow before the work. It grows because of the work.

The deal almost died because I broke my own rule: never accept the first answer.

The timeline sounded “set.”
The buyer sounded confident.
The numbers sounded reasonable.

But something was off.

The answers were too clean.
The logic didn’t match the pain.
The urgency didn’t match the cost.

I stopped the drift and shifted into ARC5.

→ First, I aligned — calm, steady, zero resistance.
→ Then I redirected — “Walk me through what’s actually causing the slowdown.”
→ Then I clarified — and that’s where everything cracked open.

→ The “minor delay” was costing them six figures a quarter.
→ The “non-urgent project” was stalling three other initiatives.
→ The “we’ll revisit next month” was actually fear of making the wrong call.

So I reframed using their own admissions.

“You said the delays hit revenue, correct? And because they hit revenue, the cost stacks every week, correct?”

I tied the issue to the consequence, the consequence to the math, and the math to the solution.

Once the logic was undeniable, closing was a formality.

→ The hesitation vanished.
→ The timeline moved forward.
→ The deal locked in that afternoon.

Control isn’t force. Control is sequence.

The future of ads is PERSONAL ✌️ 

US digital ad spend just hit $309.3 billion.


For the very first time in history at that benchmark!

eMarketer compiled all the aggregate market spend for digital ad products across the US at the end of 2024. That's a 15.1% increase since 2023 btw.


But there's a gap still...
 
58% of consumers do NOT trust the ads they get on social.



So what's working?

Ads that feel personal.

Forrester has found that more than 85% of companies that use intent data harvest higher response rates and other benefits. AKA, personalized ads that feel relevant and consumers are willing to share their info to get a more personal experience. The 2024 United States Consumer Trends Index shows that 91% of consumers are willing to share information in exchange for reward.

And that aligned closely with the preference <> ad engagement meta data analysis with 84% of consumers cite they are likely to engage with a personalized offer tailored to their interests.

The more important piece is THIS imo. 91% of consumers say their favorite brand treats them like an individual. That's what personalization has the power to do. Where you don't show up like a "brand". You should up like a friend would in the group chat.


So...


What personalization do people want most?

How consumers stack ranked their top options

Consumers were willing to swap info for promos:

1) Discounts/coupons (90%)
2) Early/exclusive access to offers (88%)
3) A chance to win something (84%)

Gated content and brand community plays lagged behind at 69% and 67% respectively so the TLDR here is that personalized offers related to immediate shopping value are still the most valuable from a consumer POV.


Digital ad spend is forecast to reach $460.5 billion by 2028 with display advertising forecasted to capture 85.7% of the $90 billion in additional ad spending between 2024 and 2028.

Uncomfortable truth.. 

Work is NOT a family

A red flag we don't talk about enough? 

🚩 Companies that say "family" when they really mean "team" 

(Especially the big ones)

🚫 Sets unrealistic expectations 
People don't owe anything to the company except what they're paid for 
 

Work is important, but it's not on par with your family

Here's what a healthy workplace looks like:

● There are clear boundaries

Stop being selectively kind. 
The true measure of a leader is found in these 7 actions 👇

1️⃣ Respect everyone, regardless of title or influence.
Treat the intern, the cleaner, and the CEO with the same attention and humanity. Titles fade, but the impression of respect lasts.

2️⃣ Be honest even when it’s uncomfortable or costly.
Integrity often requires walking away from shortcuts and easy wins. The price might be high in the moment, but it compounds into credibility over time.

95% of sales teams never reach Layer 3.

Because it requires:

→ Systematic thinking
→ Pattern recognition
→ Deep industry knowledge
→ Cross-functional understanding
→ Technical acumen

Most teams are under pressure to deliver.

And can't create the space / resources to hit layer 3.

Those who master all 3 layers?

They don't just sell. They consult.
