I am pleased to join the board of Shaw Gibbs Limited as a director whilst continuing my role as Insolvency Practitioner in the Insolvency & Corporate Recovery division.

I joined Shaw Gibbs in 1996 and qualified as one of the youngest Insolvency Practitioners in 1998.  I obtained my Insolvency Licence and became a partner in the firm in 2000.  In 2006 following the arrival of my second child I decided to concentrate on my family although I continued to work part-time in the Insolvency department managing the Team.  In 2012 I took the opportunity to work in the Corporate Finance Team alongside my Insolvency role which provided me with useful knowledge and experience that I have been able to apply to my current role.  Following the successful completion of a tailored director development programme I joined the Shaw Gibbs board as a director in January 2016.

I started my career as a trainee accountant in a manufacturing company which went ‘bust’ and KPMG were appointed liquidators. I assisted KPMG whilst they traded and eventually sold the business and then joined the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team in Reading. During my five years at KPMG I worked in both the Corporate and Personal Insolvency departments and was involved in many large trading Receiverships.  I sat the first CPI exam in 1995 and passed with distinction. I was actively involved in the Marketing and Business Development of the firm and was Joint Chair of the Sports & Social Club.

I head up the team at North Insolvency & Advisory.  I am a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and member of NARA The Association of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers with 30 years’ experience dealing with all aspects of Insolvency and Restructuring work including  Administrations; Solvent and Insolvent Liquidations; Bankruptcy;  Voluntary Arrangements; LPA Receivership and informal agreements.

The majority of the time I work with SME's and as a director of North I understand the challenges of running a business and therefore can empathise with clients whilst working with them to find the best solutions to the issues they are facing.

I also assist Executors/family members with Deceased Insolvent Estates and have given number of presentations to Solicitors and STEP on this subject.

I deal with Members Voluntary Liquidations and work closely with shareholders and their advisors to help them plan and extract their funds in a tax efficient way.
