Since assuming the role of Head of Data, Business Intelligence & AI in Jan 2021, I have cultivated a culture of data literacy, guiding our organization towards data-driven decision-making. This transformation played a pivotal role in escalating our valuation to €450 million from Series A to Series B.

My commitment to pragmatic solutions led to the successful migration of our systems to a robust AWS cloud infrastructure, thereby establishing a global analytics data stack. This pivotal shift, paired with the implementation of a resilient data architecture, is aligned with our goal of becoming a €1 billion entity.

I assembled an exceptional global data team of 10 persons (2 Data Engineers, 4 Data Analysts, 2 Data Scientists and 2 Marketing Analysts), collaborating on the development of critical business logic for revenue retention, customer segmentation, and predictive modeling. This has delivered crucial insights into customer behavior, specifically around churn rates.

I am proud to have developed a strategy on Semantic Layers for Self-service BI at air up. At the same time, we put together a data mesh strategy working in close collaboration with the CTO which led to the creation of multiple data products and subsequent migration from service-delivery oriented-team to a platform data team.

This practical approach to problem-solving was recognized with the Value Bee award for pragmatism. My team is recognized as one of the highest performing, and our tech infrastructure stands as one of the most stable in the industry.

Head of Data

As the inaugural Senior BI Analyst in air up's Marketing team, I was entrusted with the critical task of providing pivotal data to support business decisions. Faced with an insufficient dashboarding tool, I spearheaded a strategic transition to Google Data Studio (now Looker), offering enhanced intuitiveness for business users and a more robust BI tool down the line.

Among my noteworthy contributions, I developed a marketing change log, creating a visually intuitive dashboard that tracks change events and their impacts on key business metrics such as net revenue and conversion rates. This has proven to be a vital global reference for all marketing events.

In addition, I architected a customer segmentation model, known as the XScore. This provides our CRM team with key insights to deliver tailored services to customers, significantly aiding in churn reduction.

These substantial contributions, alongside the high caliber of my work, accelerated my promotion to Head of Data within a mere three months.

I led a variety of project teams, working alongside Implementation Specialists, Software Developers, and Engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions. I spearheaded the implementation of multi-acquirer bin per settlement currency for our Payment and Risk Division, and onboarding of RiskShield for CITI merchants across Asia.

Through careful market trend analysis and proactive risk identification, I advised stakeholders, using data analysis and predictive business intelligence. This informed creation of new products and regulatory compliance, helping to secure new income streams for the organization.

As the Head of Business Innovation and Delivery, I led the design and development of bespoke banking solutions. I championed the creation and implementation of pioneering technologies, notably challenging market leaders with our ATM Value Added Services, culminating in the widely recognized Payarena service in Nigeria.

I built and trained an exceptional team of implementation specialists, deploying Payarena across all Nigerian Bank ATMs. I also oversaw the introduction of an NFC service enabling Payattitude cash withdrawals on these ATMs. In collaboration with product and software development teams, we forged new products and income lines for our organization.

Analyzing market trends, I proactively identified potential business risks and disruptive technologies, providing strategic counsel to management based on comprehensive analytics and business intelligence. My role included executing new payment industry regulations and fostering new deals with banks, ensuring a consistently exceptional experience for our clients.
