Emirates signed an MoU with Crypto.com to explore accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major digital assets for flights and airline services.

This was IshowSpeed in Nigeria a few days ago during his Africa tour.

He was told Venmo and Cash App weren’t necessary. Stablecoins worked just fine.

Amazing how payments are evolving, quietly making it easier to move value across the world

Most RWA builders lose time trying to convince people who were never their audience in the first place. I call them - The NON-BELIEVERS

That’s the part no one tells you early enough.

In Real-World Assets, you’re dealing with regulated markets, legacy institutions, and onchain infrastructure. 

Skepticism is normal, resistance is expected.

So the problem is rarely: “How do we explain this better to everyone?”

The real question is: “Who is this actually for?”

Once you answer that honestly, everything else gets easier.

When you’re clear on who it’s for:
i. Your messaging becomes more precise
ii. Your content stops trying to do too much
iii. Your narrative stays consistent across platforms

And the people who were never going to engage meaningfully stop mattering.

Here’s an of a project that tokenize carbon credit

Scenario 1: Speaking to everyone
 Content sounds like:
    Tokenized carbon credits will change sustainability forever. Blockchain meets climate impact...

It’s not wrong, but it’s vague. It doesn’t tell who should care or why they should act.

The result is; Likes, a few comments, but no serious conversations.

Scenario 2: Speaking to the right audience
 Same project. Different framing.
    Carbon credit markets struggle with verification, liquidity, and trust.
    We’re tokenizing credits specifically for institutional buyers who need auditable, regulator-friendly on-chain settlement.

Now it’s clear,

That’s the difference between content that gets attention and content that attracts partners, capital, and deals.

.Jupiter launching JupUSD is one of those updates that looks small if you read the headline, but becomes much bigger once you understand what’s really happening.

Most people see “Jupiter launches a stablecoin” and think this is just another USDC clone or a liquidity play. Well, it’s not. This is Jupiter taking control of the monetary layer of its own ecosystem.

Jupiter has quietly become one of the most important pieces of Solana’s financial stack. 

It started as a DEX aggregator, but today it runs spot trading, perpetuals, lending, token launches, a mobile trading app, and even prediction markets. 

What it didn’t have until now was its own native dollar that connects all of those products.

That’s what JupUSD is meant to be.

Instead of users moving between USDC, USDT, LP tokens, and synthetic dollars across different parts of the app, Jupiter wants one dollar that everything runs on. One balance, one unit of account, one liquidity pool powering all products.

That is exactly how traditional financial platforms work, and it’s something most crypto apps are still missing.

Now, the backing of JupUSD is what makes this really interesting.

JupUSD is backed by USDC and USDtb. USDtb is Ethena’s institutional dollar product, and it is backed by BlackRock’s tokenized BUIDL fund. 

That means that a large portion of JupUSD’s reserves are sitting in tokenized U.S. Treasuries managed by the largest asset manager in the world.

@ethena_labs handles the day-to-day reserve operations, but Jupiter controls how JupUSD is used inside its ecosystem.

So when someone holds JupUSD on Jupiter, they are not just holding a Solana-native stablecoin. 

They are holding a token that is ultimately backed by regulated, tokenized traditional finance.

That’s the RWA bridge people keep talking about, but this time it’s not theoretical.

JupUSD is not being launched as a standalone product. It is being wired directly into how Jupiter works.

On Jupiter Lend, deposits of JupUSD will mint a yield-bearing token called jlJupUSD.

On Jupiter Perps, roughly 500 million dollars of USDC in LP collateral will be phased into JupUSD.

JupUSD will be used for limit orders, dollar-cost averaging, perps margin, prediction market settlement, and the mobile app’s one-balance UX.

This is not about creating another stablecoin to trade. It is about unifying dollar liquidity across the entire Jupiter platform.

For institutions and market makers, JupUSD also changes how capital moves. Jupiter and Ethena are offering 24/7 onchain minting and redemption against USDC, with clear capacity and published limits. 

That means firms can plan flows, manage exposure, and move money without waiting for banking hours or dealing with opaque reserve structures.


What makes this even more important is Ethena Labs role in all of this.

RWAs aren’t knocking at the door anymore, they’re already inside the system.

RWA Highlight & Insight 5-01-26

Trips.com accepting USDT and USDC is one of those updates that sounds minor when you first hear it, but becomes much more important once you understand what’s actually happening underneath.

At a glance, most people will read this as “a travel company added crypto payments” and move on.

That’s not what this is. This is a global consumer platform quietly testing stablecoins as a real settlement layer for cross-border commerce.

Trip.com is not a small player experimenting for headlines. It’s one of the largest travel booking platforms in the world, serving millions of users across hotels, flights, and travel services in dozens of countries.

When a company at that scale enables stablecoin payments, even in select markets, it’s not for the show but solving operational problems.

According to customer support, Trip enabled USDT and USDC payments for prepaid hotel and flight bookings on its international platform starting October 9, 2025.

The option appears based on a user’s IP address, which means it’s available in certain regions outside mainland China and unavailable in others, including Hong Kong and the mainland itself.

That detail matters, because it tells you this wasn’t an accident.

China maintains a hard stance on crypto-related activity. The People’s Bank of China has explicitly stated that stablecoins do not meet mainland AML requirements.

So Trip.com didn’t force this through domestically. Instead, they turned it on offshore, where regulations allow experimentation and where stablecoins are already widely used for payments.

One reporter from Foresight News tested this in practice while in Vietnam. He was able to book both a hotel and a flight using USDT directly on Trip.com’s international platform.

No third-party processor. Stablecoins at checkout. He also noted that the prices were cheaper than what was available on Ctrip, the mainland-facing app.

If you run a global travel platform, you will have to deal with:
– card payment failures
- FX conversion costs
– delays & chargebacks
and so on...

Stablecoins remove a lot of that friction in a very unglamorous but effective way. A dollar-pegged token settles globally, instantly, and without caring where the user is located.

For international travelers, especially in regions where card access is limited or expensive, that matters.

This is why stablecoins have quietly become one of the most used payment rails in the world.

In August 2025 alone, over $10 billion worth of stablecoins was used for payments, more than double the amount recorded a year earlier.

Most of that volume came from business-to-business transfers, but consumer payments are clearly starting to follow.

I’ve been seeing two terms pop up a lot in the tokenization space lately: digital ownership and digital acquisition. They are everywhere

They’re often used interchangeably. But they’re not the same, and understanding the difference is crucial if you want to grasp the real impact of tokenized assets.

Digital acquisition is what most people experience today.

   It’s exposure, you participate in price movements or yield. You see numbers on a screen, but the asset itself isn’t directly in your hands. Your relationship with it is mediated, either through banks, custodians, or external platforms.

But Digital ownership, on the other hand, changes the game.

   Ownership means the asset is represented directly (onchain). With defined rights, clear settlement, and the ability to transfer value without relying on multiple middlemen, banks, or external platforms

Let’s take gold as an example.
In traditional markets, owning “digital gold” often meant buying an ETF or certificate.

You benefited from the price moving up or down, but the gold itself remained in a vault somewhere, and your claim was abstract.

Tokenization flips that.

With tokenized gold:

- Each token is backed by the physical asset.
- Ownership is clear and transferable onchain.
- Settlement happens instantly and for everyone to see.

And this isn’t limited to gold. Tokenization is doing the same for real estate, private credit, art, and other real-world assets.

Today, projects are building infrastructure that allows anyone; institutions or individuals, to hold, trade, and manage assets directly, not just gain exposure.

The implications are significant that:
i. Investors can access assets that were previously illiquid in the markets.
ii. Ownership becomes programmable.
iii. Settlement and transfers are faster, cheaper, and more transparent.

This distinction, between acquiring exposure and owning an asset is what separates the early hype from real, lasting financial innovation in the RWA space.

If you’re building, investing, or simply exploring tokenized assets, understanding this difference is critical.

Once you see the difference between acquiring access and owning the asset, the RWA conversations starts to make a lot more sense.

Most people misunderstand what tokenization actually does.

So let’s say it plainly: Tokenization does not improve the quality of an asset.
 
It changes how ownership is accessed, transferred, and coordinated.

That distinction matters more than people think.

Let’s ground this with real examples.

1️⃣ Real Estate
 A building with poor cash flow doesn’t become attractive because it’s tokenized.
 What does change is access:
i. Ownership can be fractional
ii. Entry tickets get smaller
iii. Transfers become faster
iv. Settlement moves on-chain

The asset stays the same, the ownership structure becomes more efficient.

2️⃣ Treasuries
 A tokenized T-bill doesn’t magically yield more.
 What changes is distribution:
i. Global access instead of jurisdictional silos
ii. 24/7 settlement instead of banking hours
iii. Programmable compliance instead of manual ops

Same government debt, different access and control layer.

3️⃣ Commodities (like gold or carbon)
 Gold doesn’t become “better” because it’s on-chain.
 But tokenization makes it:
i. Easier to custody digitally
ii. Easier to transfer globally
iii. Easier to integrate into modern financial rails

The value didn't change, the usability is transformed.

This is where many RWA narratives break.

Tokenization is not value creation. It’s coordination, efficiency, and access at scale.

If the fundamentals are weak, tokenization exposes it faster.
 
If the fundamentals are strong, tokenization unlocks reach.

See Tokenized RWAs as running a major international airport.

It’s not just a runway and a terminal. A functional airport is a massive, interconnected system, and the same is true for tokenized assets.

i. Planes = the assets themselves; properties, loans, stocks, funds. They carry real value and need safe, regulated paths to reach their destination.

ii. Runways & taxiways = the blockchain protocols and APIs; these are the paths planes use to move safely and efficiently. Without well-built runways, even the best planes can’t take off.

iii. Air traffic control = interoperability & standards; coordinating who goes where and when. Multiple blockchains, platforms, and participants need to communicate seamlessly to avoid collisions.

iv. Security checkpoints = compliance and regulatory frameworks; no plane takes off without verified passengers and security checks. Similarly, tokenized assets need verified ownership and legal alignment to be tradable.

v. Baggage handling systems = data feeds, custody solutions, and oracles; assets are only useful if information about them flows correctly and securely. A misplaced bag can create chaos; bad data can break markets.

vi. Terminal infrastructure = user interfaces, marketplaces, and custodial solutions; the points of access where people and institutions interact with the assets. If terminals aren’t efficient, the whole airport slows down.

Most tokenization projects fail because they focus on the planes, the assets themselves, without building the airport. 

Without safe runways, control towers, or baggage systems, the planes can’t operate efficiently, no matter how valuable they are.

Tokenization isn’t just about digitizing an asset. It’s about creating a fully operational airport ecosystem that connects physical assets, financial participants, and digital rails.

The winners in this space won’t just have the most valuable planes.

They’ll be the ones building the entire airport, infrastructure, compliance, standards, and interconnectivity that let the system function at scale.

Once you see tokenization through this lens, you understand why the real growth isn’t in the assets themselves, it’s in the systems that move, secure, and manage them.

This is a good take. Tokenizing buildings never magically created liquidity, exits did. 

The shift toward yield and clear redemption feels way more grounded than the ‘slice it and hope’ approach we saw before.

Someone rediscovers real estate during every crypto cycle. 

The pitch is usually the same. Take a large building, slice it into tokens, and liquidity will follow. But as people learned the hard way with luxury resort tokens in 2018 and again with fractionalized rental properties in 2021, tokenization didn’t magically create buyers. Investors were left holding tokens with presumed value, but no practical way to exit. 

As a former real estate investor, I’ve always been skeptical of this thesis. Smaller ticket sizes certainly make assets more accessible, but access alone doesn’t create liquidity. Real liquidity comes from exits, either through a clearly defined redemption mechanism or a deep secondary market with willing buyers. 

Fractionalization is a means to an end, not the elixir.

The real question was never whether real estate could be added on blockchains, but how. And in this cycle, people are answering that question differently. 

Instead of tokenizing individual properties and hoping for price appreciation, token issuers are focusing on yield. 

This makes the assets look less like speculative NFT and more like a yield bearing financial instrument, comparable to money market or private credit products that have gained traction onchain. 

Structures are evolving accordingly:
1. Rather than issuing perpetual equity tokens with no clear exit, many players now favor debt instruments with defined maturities and redemption mechanics. 
2. More offerings are tied to development or value-add strategies where refinancing or equity take-outs are part of the business plan. 
3. Others pool multiple properties into a single vehicle instead of tokenizing assets one by one. 

Together, these changes smooth cash flows, reduce property-specific risk, and make the assets more comparable and fungible.

Secondary markets remain the primary bottleneck, but this challenge isn’t unique to real estate and applies broadly across tokenized assets. As the industry’s focus shifts toward liquidity and market structure, there is reason for optimism that this gap will narrow over time.

At launch, our real estate dashboard tracks 8 platforms that have tokenized 58 real estate assets across 7 networks. 

The dashboard follows the same structure as other asset classes on the platform, but includes metrics specific to real estate. A global map shows where underlying properties are located. Each listing highlights the city, jurisdiction, asset type, property type, and investment strategy, making it easier to distinguish and compare offerings. 

We’ve tried to capture these distinctions, because not all tokenized real estate is created equal, and investors deserve transparency into what they are actually buying. 

We are excited to continue expanding coverage as new products come to market. As someone who spent years skeptical of onchain real estate, I’m cautiously optimistic to see how these models and structures continue to evolve in this cycle.

In December 2025, U.S. creators can now receive payouts in PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin, using PayPal’s Hyperwallet infrastructure. 

YouTube isn’t touching crypto per say (it still pays in fiat). PayPal handles conversion, custody, and compliance. For creators, it just works. No wallets, no tokens.

Why this is a big deal:

1️⃣ For years, stablecoins were treated like “crypto toys”, useful for trading or DeFi experiments. Now they are quietly becoming an operational payment infrastructure inside one of the largest creator economies in the world. That’s 50M+ creators, millions monetizing globally. This is adoption at scale.

2️⃣ Global creators face huge banking friction, slow cross-border payments, high fees, and foreign exchange headaches. Stablecoins don’t solve all problems, but when integrated like this, they reduce delays, lower costs, and create predictable payouts. That’s real-world impact.

3️⃣ YouTube didn’t go “full crypto.” It chose a regulated, issuer-backed stablecoin, keeping compliance off its balance sheet while benefiting from blockchain settlement. This is exactly how large platforms will roll out tokenization and digital money, invisible, behind the scenes, and operational.

4️⃣ If creators are now getting paid on stablecoin rails, imagine what’s coming for tokenized assets and real-world asset infrastructure. Faster settlement, programmable cashflows, global reach, this is the same plumbing that will power RWAs, treasury products, and digital securities.

The takeaway for builders in the space is that stablecoins are the infrastructure right now.

The real opportunity is understanding how they integrate into systems that move real money.

Those who recognize this early will be positioned at the center of the next wave of tokenization.

Stablecoins are no longer “crypto.” They are the operating rails that will quietly transform capital markets, payments, and digital assets.

Man, RWA tokenization is moving faster than most people think.

Every week there’s a bank, a fund, or a regulator doing something that used to take months. 

And it’s not small moves; we’re talking tokenized money market funds, mortgage portfolios onchain, SEC-compliant stock issuance.

Honestly, it can be a lot just keeping up. I catch myself thinking about RWA in my sleep sometimes. But that’s a good problem to have I guess


It shows the space is real, people are building, shipping, and big players are coming in.

Here’s why it’s moving so fast (my thoughts):

Finance was broken - Slow settlement, trapped capital, siloed markets, manual compliance.

And NO, Tokenization did not create new assets, it solves actual problems. We are looking at;

- Instant settlement. 
- Global liquidity. 
- Embedded compliance. 
- Programmable ownership. 
- Real access to assets that were impossible to trade before.

That’s why banks aren’t just experimenting anymore, they’re deploying. And governments aren’t just observing, they’re racing to set the rules before the system hardens.

The speed is a necessity. And if you feel like you can’t keep up, you’re not wrong, the world of real-world assets is quietly reshaping itself, and it’s happening fast.
