The role demanded strict adherence to procedures, precise technical documentation, and consistent systems discipline. I’ve always been drawn to how things connect — systems, processes, people, and the ideas that keep them moving.

I began my career in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate, where I learned to work with high-reliability systems, uncompromising standards, and the kind of discipline that only comes from environments where mistakes aren’t optional. That foundation shaped how I approach technical work and responsibility today.

After the Navy (and a lot of subsequent schooling in physics and engineering), I continued building my career in complex transportation and engineering environments. I moved into hands-on electrical systems work in passenger rail operations and later took on roles in commissioning and systems integration.

Today, I work in multi-stakeholder project coordination and technical review for rail fleet programs while also co-owning School of Rock Salt Lake City, where I manage daily operations, program development, and community engagement. Operating a business alongside a technical career has sharpened my ability to understand people, prioritize decisions, and stay accountable for outcomes.

Earning my Professional Engineer (PE) license has deepened my sense of accountability, not just to technical standards, but also to the people and systems those standards serve.

My goal is to continue bridging the gap between engineering precision and people-centered management, and to grow into a leader who brings clarity, empathy, and structure to complex environments.

Last year, I got 64K website visitors. 

This led to about 20 new clients and 1K new email subscribers.

How? Through an AI & SEO-friendly website.

My core pages are optimized for AI & SEO, and so is my blog.

But it's not where I want it to be. Traffic has decreased a lot.

This traffic decrease is likely due to some traffic looking at AI instead of clicking through to websites. And also because I let my own blogging strategy fall off a bit.

But I'm getting it back together. I've updated two articles and two service pages this month. I'm also going to focus more on AI-optimization alongside SEO (and really it's all pretty similar).

And I'm super excited to get my website marketing strategy back on track because even though I'm booked up, I want to stay that way. And that's why we have to keep prioritizing our marketing.

Someone recently commented this on one of my posts, and they aren't alone in thinking this.

But here's the thing:

Yes, AI has decreased blog traffic. Many people go straight to ChatGPT or AI overviews and don't bother with clicking through to blog articles. But not strong leads, the ones who might actually work with you.

Stronger leads are still clicking through to actual blog articles on your website. These are the ones we need to be writing helpful content for.

If you stop blogging because of AI, you're leaving way too much on the table.
