This potential leap is also reflected in the Kardashev Scale, which measures a civilization’s technological advancement based on energy consumption. Harnessing fusion could elevate us from a Type I civilization, which utilizes planetary energy resources, to a Type II civilization, capable of harnessing the energy of our entire star.
