I was working 60+ hours in a fledgling business,

𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗜 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻.🌻

Tiny. Ordinary. Almost easy to overlook.

Every day, I’d walk past them.

Water them.

Wait.

And for a few days, nothing happened.

No sprout. No sign. No movement.

Just soil.

And then one morning…

there it was.

The smallest green shoots, fighting its way toward the sun.

It took three full months before those flowers finally stood tall.

Bright. Bold. Unapologetically beautiful.

And I couldn’t help but think this is exactly how growth works in life and business.

You plant seeds every single day - in your habits, your faith, your relationships, your business.

You water them with consistency, belief, and patience. 

And even when you can’t see progress something’s happening beneath the surface.

Growth takes time.

God takes His time.

And every season serves a purpose, even the waiting ones.

Because one day, everything you’ve been sowing will bloom.

And it will be even more beautiful than you imagined.

𝗠𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗜 𝗮𝗺. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗜 𝗮𝗺.

I thought I had to choose.

Be fully present as a mum.

Or be fully committed as a business owner.
But never both.

And for a while…

I dipped in and out of guilt like it was part of my daily routine.

Guilty when I worked.
Guilty when I didn’t.
Guilty when I missed a moment.
Guilty when I paused the business.

It felt like no matter what I did, I was failing something or someone.

But then one day…

I looked at my daughter and I realised something important:

She doesn’t need a perfect mum.

She needs a present one.

And I can’t be present if I’m constantly overwhelmed.

Burnt out.

Distracted.

Or busy doing things that don’t actually matter.

So I started changing the way I worked.

The way I planned.

The way I organised my priorities.

Because running a business with a family isn’t the problem.

Running a business like you don’t have a family… that’s the problem.

The mistake I made (and most entrepreneurs make)?

Trying to fit life around business

instead of building a business that fits the life you want.

When I shifted into intentionality…
When I built the One Hour Workday…
When I cleaned up what didn’t matter…

I became a better business owner and a better mum.

Presence creates peace.

And peace creates the version of you your family actually needs.
