Meta just gave every media buyer the job security they needed.

Last week, Manus AI started rolling out inside Ads Manager. And it’s just shown why this isn’t the “end of media buyers”.

The introduction of Manus is a huge value-add - it’ll speed up reporting, help with surface-level research, and generally will save time.

But here’s the thing about Meta automating more of the ad process. They have zero incentive to fully remove the human from the equation. 

Brands not knowing how to properly manage campaigns is ultimately profitable for Meta as a business, whose ad revenue was at $196bn in 2025. 

The Advantage+ rollout a couple of years shifted how targeting works, and that was a massive benefit...but only to those who understood how to use it.

Even now, we’re still seeing AI image enhancements producing the wrong dimensions, or adding text overlays on the wrong placements. 

More automation doesn't make life simpler - it means there’s more layers, more tools, more access, and more ways to waste budget if you don't know what you're doing.

The real skill has never been button-clicking. It’s knowing how to read data in context, knowing when to trust the algorithm and when to push back on it, and understanding taste, cultural instinct and commercial judgements. 

That only comes from real spend, real testing and years of generating real results.

The media buyer isn't going anywhere. But the gap between those who understand these systems and those who just follow Meta’s suggestions is getting wider.
