In February I ended a client contract early. She was paying, the work was getting done.

But deadlines we’d agreed on were repeatedly ignored.
Messages would land late at night expecting immediate replies.

When I reinforced communication boundaries, they were treated as optional.

✨ Think about it like this:

Selling to a cold lead is like proposing marriage after your first Hinge date.

They don’t know you.
They don’t trust you.
And you’ve given them no reason to say yes.

But when you build the relationship first... 
When you lead with value

Your content, 
Your ideal client magnet
and your positioning do the heavy lifting

The “yes” then doesn’t feel scary.
It feels exciting.

That’s your job:

To make your most motivated client feel safe, certain, and excited about working with you.

That’s why I never cold pitch.

And why people DM me asking, 
“How can I work with you?”

Because I build trust with zero pressure.

So the next time you think:
“I just need to get better at selling…”

Ask yourself:

Would I say yes to this offer at this price point? 
... if I barely knew the person offering it?

And if the answer is no?
Amazing.

There’s your gap.
Now you can go and close it.

When did you last feel the ick? 

You know the feeling…

That subtle contraction in your body, when something that used to feel exciting… suddenly feels off.

I’ve been noticing it everywhere. 
There’s so much noise online. 

More content. More tactics. More “proven strategies.”  

And yet most of it feels forced. Recycled. Performative. 

The consistent theme coming up with clients recently?
Tired.

And 10 times out of 10, the solution isn't more.  
It's subtraction. 

Because forcing yourself into a strategy that doesn’t fit is restrictive.

Women are wildly creative.

But the second you shift into:
“What do I say to get X?”

You sever the very thing that makes your work magnetic. 
Of course you feel drained.

You're trying to compress something expansive into a box you were never designed to fit inside. 

First thing I tell my clients to do? 

Unsubscribe from the mass emails.
Mute the distracting groups.
Delete the apps that fragment your focus. 
Make your body a non-negotiable.

Because when you remove the noise, something interesting happens...

Ideas sharpen. 
Creativity returns. 
Energy increases. 

It's like closing 38 tabs in your brain and realising... Half of them weren't even yours. 

The ick isn't random... it's feedback. 

Here are a few things that give me the ick:

• Over-strategising until the magic disappears
• Creating purely to extract a result  
• Forcing urgency instead of creating desire
• Aggressive DMs instead of invitations

The most magnetic move isn’t doing more.
It's refinement. 

If something feels off in your marketing… it probably is.

That's not a cue to produce more.
It's a cue to raise your standard.  

Noise is cheap.
Precision is power.
Choose accordingly.

Your skills aren’t rare.

Your perspective is.

There might be a million people who do what you do.
But you, by nature, are 1 of 1.

The real question is:
Are you willing to let that be seen?

Experts are everywhere on LinkedIn.
What sets you apart isn’t more credentials or more content.

It’s your distinct take within your field.
And most people won’t fully claim theirs.

LinkedIn is full of posts saying the same thing in slightly different words.

Carefully worded.
Broad enough to apply to everyone.
Safe enough to avoid friction

It’s like comparing an original painting to a stock image.

Both are technically art.

But one exists once. It carries the artist’s fingerprints, their risk, their point of view.  It’s unmistakably someone’s.

Depth. Brushstrokes. Tension.

The other?
Clean, but mass-produced, downloaded a thousand times.
It's generic and therefore infinitely replaceable.

That’s why you can post five times a week, obsess over hooks, tweak your formatting …and still blend in.

Most experts dilute their thinking to appeal to more people.
But dilution never builds demand.

If you’re not bringing your perspective, your interpretation, your standards... 

You’re not positioned.
You’re participating.

And participation might build audiences.
But positioning builds demand.

Every expert has genius.
Few are brave enough to own it.

If you secretly resent your business,

You'll always cap your income.

Because resentment changes how you show up.
February forced me to recognise that in myself.

For two and a half years, I worked six days a week. Not because I had to, because I wanted to. 

Revenue was climbing. Clients were signing. Everything looked strong.

But I had built it on intensity.

I hadn’t protected my time.
I hadn’t tightened boundaries.
I said yes when I should have said no.

And slowly, resentment crept in. 

Not toward my clients. Toward the way I'd structured it.

One morning in February, I woke up and felt flat.
No excitement. No urgency. No pull to build.

And that's when you unconsciously hold back.
You show up, but not fully.
You sell, but without conviction.
You move, but there's no spark.

And that will always cap your income.

It’s the same reason most people never get in great shape.

If you hate the workout, you’ll force it for a while. But you’ll never build momentum.

When I found a style of training I loved, consistency became effortless. 
My energy increased and I got results fast.

Business is no different.
You cannot scale something you secretly resent.

So I made structural changes.
🧡  I released clients who drained me
🧡  I redesigned my offer suite and delivery
🧡  I stopped normalising six-day weeks  

Because we’re in this for the long game.

And long-term growth is easier to sustain when you actually enjoy how you’re building it.

Premium buyers don’t want a 64-page PDF.

They want the simplest, fastest path to the result.

Your lead magnet isn’t “free value.”
It’s a buyer filter.

Most ideal client magnets are built around volume.
More slides, more steps, more “value.”

It looks generous, but it trains the wrong behaviour.

Because the moment someone downloads your 64-page guide, their brain doesn’t think:
“This is valuable. I’m in.”

It thinks:
“This is work… I’ll do it later.”

And “later” is where demand goes to die.

Long lead magnets don’t build demand. They build procrastination.

Work creates friction.
Friction delays decisions.
And delayed decisions don’t become clients.

Premium clients don’t ask: “What do I get?”
They ask: “Is this worth my time?”

So if your free offer is built around lots of implementation, you’ll attract buyers who collect, save, and delay.

Those buyers negotiate.
They hesitate.
They need convincing.

And then you end up selling to people you were never trying to attract.

So tell me, is your lead magnet designed to create a decision…

The key to more consistent clients,

Isn’t a better DM script.
It’s demand.

You can feel the difference instantly.

When you want something, you lean in.
When someone is trying to sell you something, you brace.

Low demand looks like this:
🧡 You post, get likes… and your DMs stay quiet
🧡 You send “just checking in” follow-ups and get ghosted
🧡 You hear “I need to think” and immediately start explaining
🧡 You feel that wobble and your instinct is to discount

That’s not a script problem.
That’s what selling without demand looks like.

Because when demand isn’t built before the conversation, every conversation starts cold.

So the sale turns into:
More questions.
More explaining.
More “let me think.”
More chasing.

Hard pass.
