My role within training has now expanded to encompass my commercial experience and knowledge and I have been actively working as the Partnership Manager for both our IKEA and John Lewis Furniture Take Back Schemes (the latter having only rolled out across the UK in April of this year). These are exciting times for our organisation with continual interest in our work from Government, the commercial and waste sector, the charitable sector including our own members and more involvement from the general public who are actively becoming more interested and involved in furniture re-use. Furniture Reuse Network

The FRN is the national body which supports, assists and develops charitable re-use organisations across the UK. We do this to reduce poverty by helping households in need access furniture, white goods and other household items at affordable prices.  My role is to support re-use organisations in providing training and work placement opportunities for people who are socially excluded.

For the past 2 years I have been actively involved in the facilitation of contracts between my Re-user organisation members across the UK and the Primary Training Providers of the Work Programme for the provision of work placement opportunities for the long term unemployed. I have also been involved with the National Offender Management Service and Probation Trusts to secure opportunities for current open prison offenders and Community Payback offenders within our member projects and looking at how we can progress their education and training to develop employability skills.

Having had a further 2 years funding confirmed by the Tudor Trust for my role I am looking forward to continuing to source government funded free training for the volunteers and permanent staff at the charities and also developing a new re-use qualification for our sector.

I am also continuing to seek further opportunities to help make my members more sustainable and allow them to progress their charitable social aims in our 'Big Society' thus allowing me to utilise my commercial skill set. As an organisation we are continuing to work with large furniture retailers on their Furniture Take Back Schemes with me taking up the role of Partnership Manager for these commercial relationships which has necessitated extensive UK travel.   The whole experience has been enlightening but very enjoyable and along with the huge learning curve of Government Work Programme policies, life with the FRN has been an exceedingly challenging yet rewarding period.

Currently involved with the new, exciting venture of setting up an HR Division for this established Consultancy within the South West Region alongside my colleague Kim Kennedy.  This will involve recruiting across the mid-management and senior level HR arena in both the Commerce and Industry and Public Sector.  Badenoch &amp; Clark already have existing successful Legal, Accountancy &amp; Finance, Purchasing and IT Divisions operating within the Bristol and South West area with a strong customer base.

I have worked for Hays since October 2007 having previously taken a career break from recruitment for 5 years in the Education sector.

My current client base is a diverse mix of large organisations and SME's based not only in the main ciites of Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Plymouth but also across country to Barnstaple, Yoevil, Newton Abbott and Redruth.  My consultancy service includes regular face to face meetings with clients and candidates alike ensuring personal relationships are developed and grown.

Having spent the past 11 years working with CEOs and leaders of the charity reuse sector, I’m excited to be back working with these inspirational and dedicated professionals. I feel confident that my experience and knowledge of the day-to-day activities of these organisations working with varying sizes of fleet vehicles will be beneficial when identifying the right technical solutions to support them.  I’m aware of the many challenges that face charities in general, however with the current fuel price increases and difficulties in recruiting and retaining drivers I’m pleased that I’m now able to offer some solutions through Charity Fleetcare connected technology and training specifically for drivers.
