* Maintained high quality board, advisory council relations and compliance under a tandem operations mode (501c3/c4) to achieve greater civic impact on behalf of the 1,265 public charter schools in California serving over 630,000 students and growing at a rate of approximately 10% a year. 

* Re-imagined internal Organizational Health efforts to properly gauge and improve staff satisfaction as well as to increase talent density through manager coaching and personnel development. 

* Overhauled and shepherded the strategic planning process for the organization and its 10 distinct teams (150 employees) as well developed and maintained metrics to ensure progress towards objectives.

* Set the vision and ensure alignment of internal data, operations, and information technologies efforts to larger strategic goals for a 35MM/year organization of 150 staff; directed and developed team staff of 12 as well as overseeing 10+ teams of consultants and 49 distinct information systems that empower a state wide organization with a geographically distributed staff.

* Created a new civic and engagement data team to provide cross-team operational and data support to community organizing as well as voter registration and electoral efforts throughout the state. Increased the number of contacts 4x (from 65k to 243k) in the organization’s database in just 2 years.

Managing Director, Data, Operations & Information Technologies

* Created a new on-boarding process and training program to integrate new hires into CCSA's culture and speed up transition into the organization’s complex work streams. New employees reported a 96% satisfaction rate with the new onboarding experience.  

* Developed and delivered real-time data dashboards for all teams across the state to ensure transparency and alignment to mission and vision, and to facilitate the yearly strategic planning process. Efforts also resulted in increased adoption of data tools, improved overall data quality, drove collaboration and accountability, and streamlined grant writing and reporting.

* Conceptualized and took on new role for the organization. 

* Deployed a Single-Sign-On solution, moved organization into a single database (Salesforce), implemented a document collaboration platform (Box). As a result, realized productivity gains of 26 hours/year per FTE; decreased infrastructure costs by 8% and telecommunication costs by 42% by leveraging state grant opportunities; reduced volume of internal emails by 16%; and increased staff overall satisfaction with organizational technology.

What an inspiring week at Cambridge Judge Business School as we celebrated the graduation of the latest cohort of the Senior Management Programme for Latin America. 🧑‍🎓 📜 

This group of 34 leaders from 12 countries brought curiosity, courage, and a deep commitment to creating impact across their organizations and communities. Watching them connect ideas with real-world challenges — and with each other — has been a privilege.

I’m grateful to play a small part in a programme that blends world-class teaching, thoughtful design, and a strong culture of reflection and growth. Every cohort reinforces the power of bringing diverse leaders together to learn, challenge assumptions, and support one another.

I trained up-and-coming school leaders in CSU-DH’s new Charter and Autonomous School Leadership Academy, which was funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s School Leadership program. Through in-person and virtual learning communities, I supported current and aspiring charter school leaders as they earned preliminary and professional administrative credentials, master’s degrees and charter leader certificates.

I continued my work as a K-12 leader for this acclaimed charter school network, where I led new school development and served in several roles:
·  	Founding Principal for Da Vinci Science High School (2008-09);
·  	Da Vinci Design High School (2009-10);
·  	and Da Vinci K-8 Innovation Academy (2010-11).
In this work, I led the design and implementation of project-based, college-preparatory, blended learning programs that focused on personalizing the learning environment and building real world connections to learning through partnerships with local employers and postsecondary institutions.
 
I also oversaw the development of new school leaders to support organizational growth and faculty training, including designing a teacher credentialing program. These roles involved a variety of other executive-level work, both internal and public-facing: creating a strategic growth plan and scaling of the network’s model; represent Da Vinci Schools in numerous presentations and conferences, securing partnerships with local employers such as Northrup Grumman, Belkin, and Mattel, among many others, that enabled professionals to co-teach courses, offer internships and job shadowing for students, and provide in-kind and cash support.
 
The early college model and partnership that I developed with Project Lead the Way and other acclaimed organizations and institutions ensured that our students (most of whom were soon-to-be first gen college students) to not only enter college but have the skills and mindset to earn a four-year degree.

Collaborating on the Charter School Launch and Development certificate program at one of California’s premier public universities gave me the unique lens of evaluating the skills and aptitudes necessary to lead new school ventures. I trained charter school leaders, faculty and board members in the management and leadership principles essential to successful charter school operations and building capacity for growth.

Working with Ana Ponce, a Forbes Top 10 Educator, to launch what is now one of California’s most successful CMOs was an amazing experience. I helped hire, supervise and coach teaching staff; designed policies and trained faculty in implementing and analyzing student work portfolios, senior projects and benchmark assessments; and led the implementation of a comprehensive advising and counseling program to ensure 100% college readiness and acceptance.
 
·  	In one year, we increased English Language Arts proficiency by 30% schoolwide
·  	We helped students achieve a 99% pass rate on the California High School Exit Exam.
·  	I created and launched an outreach initiative with area employers resulting in 120 internships and 300 job shadows to foster students’ real-world readiness.

Bringing out the best in our K-12 educators so they can do more for children has been my goal since day one.
 
But I didn’t start out with all the answers. Not even close.
 
My kids had unique learning and reading challenges, and it was up to me to learn how to help them navigate them and improve.

As an experienced educator and school leader, I was thankfully equipped to support them. 
 
But what about other families? It didn’t take long to identify additional hurdles. As a multilingual immigrant to the U.S., I deeply understand how language fluency can serve as an obstacle to opportunity, especially when schools aren’t intentionally designed toward inclusion. Empowering parents, grandparents and guardians from all walks of life and building robust communities around student learning have remained a driving motivation throughout my career.
 
And because of my background, I discovered I could break down barriers for kids and families without insider knowledge, ensuring the system could support every kid—not just a privileged few.
  
At Thrive, we specialize in getting systems ‘unstuck’ and effecting lasting change. As a team, we’ve already done the work that we empower others to do:
·   We launched and grew a nationally recognized education nonprofit from a team of two to over 100.
·   We mentored and coached dozens of educational leaders who are now successfully championing growth and excellence in organizations across the United States.
·   We led K-12 schools that were recognized among the top 100 schools nationally, and we launched educational models for innovation and social emotional learning.
 
But there’s no need to take my word for it. Respected educational experts have referred to me as one of “the most inspiring and thoughtful leaders in K-12 education,” “the hardest working advocate for children,” and “a dynamic crusader of equity and inclusion in education.”
 
Of course, all of that is wonderful to hear! At the end of the day, though, what matters most is that I support leaders in 1) maximizing their organizations’ often underutilized talent and 2) accelerating learning outcomes for all students, no matter their circumstances.
 
That’s what real success looks like.
