HDFC Bank came to my home because they thought i was gambling.
out of nowhere, the branch manager shows up at my door.

she goes, "you're receiving so many funds from 'gamer'… we believe you're involved in betting. we're seizing your account."

i said… what?

she's standing there with a printout of my transactions. holding the evidence. looking very serious.

so i asked her one simple question:
"can you please read the full UPI id out loud?"
she reads it.

that's… my google pay upi. from my own other account.

you know how google pay auto-generates your upi from your gmail, right?
so basically: 
→ my gmail has "gamer" in it 
→ google pay made it my upi 
→ hdfc saw "gamer" and assumed = gambling 
→ blocked my account 
→ sent the branch manager to my house 
→ could've just read the full pdf they were already carrying

the entire "investigation" would've taken 10 seconds of reading.
honestly didn't know hdfc branch managers have this much time and effort to give. 
showing up at doorsteps, carrying printouts, conducting full interrogations, all without reading one line.

respect the dedication though. 🫡
