Currently Marketing & Communications Manager at UtilityCloud, where I'm the only in-house marketer working to make a Norwegian energy tech company visible across Europe. Our sales cycles are 12 months long. Nobody googles our name. So I build awareness through LinkedIn, industry events, and making sure our team shows up consistently where our buyers already are.

 

Before this, I spent 15 years across media production, digital marketing, and strategic communication. I started my career as a TV presenter and journalist, which taught me one thing: if you can't hold someone's attention in the first 3 seconds, nothing else matters.

 

I speak at conferences about building brand presence for scale-ups in industries where nobody searches for your name.

For years everyone on LinkedIn has been obsessed with the algorithm.

I’ve played that game like everyone else.

But recently I started experimenting with something different… and the results honestly surprised me.

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen:

     • Hundreds of thousands of impressions
     • My following growing about 5x per week
     • A huge spike in LinkedIn newsletter subscribers
     • Way more comments and conversations
     • About a 3x increase in inbound sales conversations

And the interesting part?
It has very little to do with the algorithm.

What’s actually happening feels more like building a content ecosystem on LinkedIn instead of just posting and hoping something takes off.

Thank you to all the people who underestimated us for International Women’s Day.

You accidentally built the fire in so many of us.

The quiet dismissals.
The raised eyebrows.
The “that’s probably too ambitious.”
The rooms where we weren’t invited.
The moments where someone assumed we didn’t belong at the table.

All of it became fuel.

Because something interesting happens when you underestimate the wrong woman.

You trigger the watch me response.

Not the loud, angry kind.
The calm, relentless kind.

The kind that quietly builds companies.
Writes books.
Creates movements.
Climbs mountains nobody thought were possible.

Women like Sara Blakely who started with $5,000 and turned a simple idea into a billion-dollar company.

I remember sitting outside at dusk waiting for the fireflies to show up so we could catch them...times have changed!

🙋‍♀️ Hands up if you were a 90s kid.

🚫 No smartphones
🚫 No social media
🚫 No online worlds following you everywhere

Fast forward to today… and childhood looks very different. 📱🌐

Many people say “back in my day…” But the reality is, we are not going back.

Technology isn’t going anywhere. The world will only keep moving forward, and we will continue to see risks we wouldn't even imagine could exist.

So the question isn’t whether children should grow up with technology, it’s how we equip them to use it safely.

The fundamentals of staying safe haven’t changed. Children still learn through exploration, boundaries, and measured risk.

🚲 We once learned by falling off bikes and scraping our knees. Yet today many children are handed powerful technology without the same guidance on how to navigate it safely. 📵

For safeguarding professionals, this is the reality:

🕰️ Safeguarding cannot stand still.

We must keep learning, adapting, and preparing children for the world they are actually growing up in.
