I’m Danny Langloss, and like you, I’ve spent the past 20 years on the front lines leading in the trenches. Throughout this time, I’ve learned that leadership is not for the faint of heart. It’s complex and challenging.

As a detective sergeant, I had to keep my team motivated and empowered despite the burnout caused by long hours and traumatic incidents. We created a resilient team that consistently outperformed their peers and were energized to serve victims and their families.

When I was promoted to police chief, I inherited a toxic and divided culture. Through vision, listening, clear expectations, and strong leadership, we created an inclusive culture and became one of the most desired places to work in the region.

Later, as the City Manager, I joined a fractured and siloed team that lacked purpose, connection, and direction. Within months, we created a team united through purpose, fully committed to delivering their best for our community. Today, this team is guided by the values of “Commitment to Excellence” and “Here to Serve.”

An organization that works to prevent, rescue and rehabilitate survivors of trafficking and modern slavery, and empower at risk and vulnerable children, youth and women, impacted more than 75

1 lakh Women in 20 districts of rural Assam and now Pan India by engaging them in workshops, training, and awareness on issues of trafficking, gender-based violence, and ill effects of social media.

The organization adopts different mediums of storytelling by including them in activity; role plays, and skits, thus bringing a positive change which resulted in the eradication of child marriage, arrest of traffickers, stoppage of school drops outs and reporting of substance abuse, and other forms of violence against children since January 2021 amidst peak covid. And is
bringing change by creating an impact in their lives.

We're a group of six individuals working in education and have come together to discuss how COVID-19 has impacted our education system. 

Although a lot is already being done in this area, we aim to contextualize the issue and break it down to its lowest element. We're trying to see the impact in different arenas - curriculum, pedagogy, administration, planning, teaching, etc.; and how it affects education and higher education. 

And to better understand this differential impact which might further exacerbate the existing inequalities in our society, we're inviting guest speakers from different parts of the country who could join and help us better understand the COVID-19 impact.

The graduation ceremony for the girls at our lively skilling center in Lanka, Assam, was a celebration filled with joy and inspiration. What started as a simple training program for one courageous survivor has blossomed into a powerful narrative of transformation, as she has now taken on the role of a master trainer. Over the past six months, she has skillfully guided and empowered 15 girls each year, equipping them with invaluable skills, and we are excited to welcome new trainees for the upcoming batch in 2025-2026.

As the sun shone brightly on the day of the ceremony, the venue was adorned with colorful banners and handmade decorations crafted by the young girls themselves. You could feel the air buzzing with anticipation and pride as they expressed their creativity and dedication. Their laughter and cheers filled the space, creating an uplifting atmosphere that captured the essence of their hard work and determination. The entire celebration radiated warmth and a sense of collective achievement, marking a significant milestone in their journeys towards empowerment.

For the past five years, we have dedicated ourselves to making a difference in North East India, focusing not on well-known cities like Guwahati, Jorhat, or Silchar, but on the forgotten small towns struggling with persistent challenges. Every day, our team faces an uphill battle against basic obstacles such as unreliable electricity and inadequate internet connectivity. The relentless rains complicate travel, making local commuting a significant hurdle, with often no trains, buses, or even small vehicles available.

Our mission is even more critical as we work tirelessly to combat trafficking and gender-based violence. In this remote part of India, ensuring the safety and well-being of the girls in our care is a constant struggle. We strive to foster their holistic development, but the complexities of the environment make this an extraordinarily challenging task. Every effort we make is a step toward transforming lives and empowering our communities.
