I spent over 15 years working in marketing with, and for, some of the most creative and iconic brands all around the world.

But a few years ago, something changed.

It was all seemingly successful on paper, but inside I had become disconnected - from my work, and from myself. 

I had a deep and growing sense that I was here for more. 

Following my curiosity, I began an experiential dive into breathwork which quickly transformed my state of mind.

Through the process, it became clear that what energizes me most life is creativity and wellbeing (of both the human and planetary kind).

Seemingly separate worlds but I figured there had to be an overlap. Thankfully, the more I explored, the more I learned there was. 

There’s a deep connection between our internal state of consciousness, our ability to create, and our relationship with the natural world around us. 

It’s a big beautiful journey that starts inside our own mind. 

As a certified Flow State Facilitator and Breathwork Facilitator, today I offer transformative experiences and programs that teach teams how to access altered and optimal states of consciousness for creativity, wellbeing and performance.

What is a dramaturg? Great question - you're not the first to ask, and I guarantee you're not the last. It's a profession linked to an art form - a writer's art form is writing; a dramaturg's is dramaturgy. Dramaturgy's roots are in the theatre and has been around since 1767. Yet, in all that time, no one has given dramaturgy a widely accepted, cute and succinct explanation as to exactly what it is, and it had to patiently wait 256 years for its 15 minutes of zeitgeist fame (see below) for people to even start asking.

I often describe dramaturgy as the art of 'world weaving'. It's weaving together all the parts of a story’s world so it feels organic and whole. Then, it looks to weave the story’s world with the world of its audience to help them experience it more clearly. A dramaturgically sound world should be weaved so tight that nothing an audience encounters inside it takes them out of the world.

• The practice of dramatic composition. 
• The way to get under the skin of a story.

Ever wondered what you’d get if you mixed a strategist from the boardroom with an artist from the rehearsal room? 

The Short: 
I’m a seasoned strategist with the artistic sensibilities of a working dramaturg, who helps brands, content, and art grow through richer storytelling.  

The Long:
As an experienced marketing strategist and trained dramaturg, I bridge the ‘creative’ and ‘industry’ of the creative industries. This unique blend of business acumen and artistic ability has led to work with some of the world’s largest brands (Pepsi, McDonald's, Australia), the most zeitgeist-y of entertainment properties (Married At First Sight, Stranger Things, Empire), leading content platforms (Spotify, TikTok, YouTube) and theatre businesses and productions, in Australia and the US. 

Ok, strategist hat on. My strategy practice centres on imagining bold, new futures for businesses and brands, and shepherding them there. My work is less sketching out rough blueprints and emailing them across with thoughts and prayers; it is building out actual roadmaps to ensure the work, works. A diverse professional background means a diverse toolkit to work from, and mine sees me forge paths to fresh ideas, solutions and audience insight across all my strategy work.

Dramaturg hat. My dramaturgical practice is anchored in creating ‘intentionally holistic’ stories for audiences. WTF? Fair. Essentially, in my practice, I weave stories of the stage and screen wider than they traditionally go, ensuring everything an audience experiences – both on the screen/stage and off - is treated with the same dramaturgical care and consideration. I believe that if it's part of their experience, it's a part of our story. Ensuring every element of an audience's experience is connected through intention is core to my practice, and this is how I dramaturg across theatre, TV, and film.    
 
The Now:
In 2024, I built my own world - Small Planet Studios. It’s a haven for projects that want to successfully blend the commercial with the creative, needing me to wear both my strategy and dramaturgy hats, sometimes at the same time - I know, how corporately kinky!
