This morning I was dropping off my toddler at school 

...and the door was locked.

So I'm standing there doing the whole song and dance and waving through the window, trying to get someone's attention, and getting absolutely nowhere.

My daughter, who's along for the ride before I take her to school, wanders over to a completely different wall and presses a doorbell I had no idea was there, and the teacher comes right out. She turns to me, beaming, "Abba, I'm so smart." I smiled and told her she definitely saved the day with her smartness.

Not even ten minutes later I'm dropping her off at school and she's trying to get out of the car with her backpack in one hand and a Purim gift for the teacher in the other, and she just.. can't get the door open. She's struggling for about 20 seconds, completely stuck. I look back and suggest that maybe she can leave the bags on the seat, open the door, and then grab them. She hit me with this look like I literally just discovered fire. "Oh. Good idea."

And I couldn't help being proud of myself for 'being so smart'.
