As part of a planned repositioning of the company as a provider of "thinking tools", I developed an innovation department from scratch. The goal: to conceive, conceptualize and develop a portfolio of radically new digital products (software, hardware) with a high brand-fit to the brand and targeting attractive consumer segments. I developed a lean stage-gate process tailored to the needs of the stakeholders in the company and the advisory board. Within 2 months, I recruited a core team and set up basic processes. In just 3 more months, we developed 4 ideas, one of which was evaluated completely positively in terms of desirability, viability, feasibility and defensibility. With a core team of just three people, hardware and software were developed in an open innovation approach with carefully selected partners and the product was tested on the market at various stages of maturity.

We significantly exceeded the plan and forecast in every month except one (corona pandemic). Targeted mentoring enabled one employee to become team leader (previously vacant). Four new employees were recruited, two of whom developed into top performers in the team within just 3 months.

Artificial intelligence for customer service

I started parlamind with three co-founders with the goal of using artificial intelligence to automate customer service for online companies, making it faster, better and cheaper. We built a basic technology and a company with the basic processes, raised 7-figure seed funding and ultimately sold the technology and team to a mid-sized software company. Hands-on, I won the first 100 pilot users, including scale-ups like Westwing and digital corporations like Notebooksbilliger as well as traditional corporates like Hermes Logistik.

Consumer electronics re-commerce / circular economy

I am particularly proud of this venture because it has opened up completely new career prospects for hundreds of people in a structurally weak region. I was also able to train several digital and entrepreneurial talents in the course of internships and first positions after graduation. Today, asgoodasnew is a profitable digital Mittelstand company operating throughout Europe with an annual turnover of over 130 million euros. Alumni of the company now run their own start-ups and agencies or work in management roles at top international digital companies. 

I founded asgoodasnew electronics in my living room. The goal: to make selling used electronics just as easy, fast and safe as buying new devices online. In six years, my dedicated management team and I built Europe's leading re-commerce player for consumer electronics with - at that time - an annual turnover of over 20 million and more than 100 employees in Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin. We built up software, logistics, refurbishment and repair processes as well as marketing and sales. We raised an 8-figure sum from renowned business angels and international venture capital funds for the company's development from Seed to Series C. In addition to wirkaufens.de and asgoodasnew.com, we also opened the international offshoots kupimyto.pl and locompramos.es.
