Shall I carry on? 

This was inspired by the post Caroline Cavanagh tagged me in - and as I was responding, I thought it would be great to share it with you all...

Have you ever heard these or other similar statements? 

Regardless of your gender, I am sure some of the things you have heard have hurt you and left a deep mark. 

So what was your response, what did you do?

Whenever someone would be "generous" with their statements, I would politely say “thank you for your opinion” and just go quiet. They would HATE silent stare, I gave them hahaha 

There is one thing I learned (and actually I shared it this Saturday when speaking at MALDIVES PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS ASSOCIATION - MPSA, thank you, Afeef Hussain, for booking me once more!): listen only to those opinions that pay you. 

If I would listen to everyone who had an opinion, I would not even be on LinkedIn, never mind global stages. 

But every time I listen to those that pay me, I create another training (and build a portfolio of 13 of them!), keynote, masterclass, retreat and more for them.

So.... whom do you choose to listen to and how do you respond?

What you don’t change - you are choosing. 

You might feel uncomfortable- just as my clients do when I say this to them. 

You might even hate me for calling you out on this.

That’s ok. 

I say these words because this is true. 

So ask yourslef: what are you still tolerating through complaints and unhappiness… and yet so afraid to change it? 

And if you can not make an instant shift in your circumstances, at least make a decision to start working towards that change.
