"I want more."

Three words.
But if you're a woman over 50, they can feel like you're doing something wrong.

Not to anyone else. To you.
To the version of yourself who's spent decades saying yes when you wanted to say no.

If that's you... you're sooo not the only one.

Most women I work with carry this quiet thing underneath - a longing for something that's just theirs.

A morning that doesn't start with everyone else's needs.
A day that doesn't end absolutely shattered.
A life that actually feels like their life again.

But the second they feel that? The guilt arrives. Like clockwork.

"I should be grateful."
"It's too late now."
"Who do you think you are?"

Here's the thing: this isn't selfishness.
It's conditioning.

If you were raised to be the reliable one - the giver, the glue, the good girl - then of course wanting more feels dodgy.

That guilt isn't a fault in you. It's just what you were taught.

One thing I use with clients to interrupt this pattern is dead simple:

🧍‍♀️ Sit or stand tall.
🙌 Lift your chest, open your arms, raise your chin.
😮‍💨Breathe into that position.

Then say aloud (or in your head):
"I'm allowed to want more."
Say it three times, louder each time.

That physical shift - body open, chest up - it tells your nervous system something different.
That you're safe.
That you don't have to collapse just because the world taught you to shrink.

This is just the start.

Feeling stuck? Look to your body.

Sometimes we want things to be different.

❌To stop doing this.
✅To start doing that.
🧠To think differently.
😍To be different.

But when it comes to it, despite all our good intentions, we find we're still thinking, saying and doing the same things.
You know, the things we swore we'd stop.

Or we start the new thing, only to realise we've slipped back into our old ways.

Your body is the key.
It acts habitually without you even being aware of it.

So if you want change, start to notice what's going on in your body.

😱Always panic when someone asks you a difficult question? 
What does your body do? What sensations do you feel?

🗣️Freak out when you have to speak at a meeting?
What happens in your body before you speak? 

🥺Feel guilty when you think about what you want?
What do you feel inside and where?

If you want to change something you don't like about your behaviour or reactions, start paying attention to your physical body and what's going on inside.

You can't change what you aren't aware of.

I spent years writing emails for companies doing millions in revenue.

But LinkedIn turned it into optimization homework. Every post started with:

I’d write something, hit publish and feel noooothing. Literally like filling out a form.

A few days ago, I was venting about this to Collin Strachan. He said something stupid simple:

‘Write first. Optimize second’

I’d been trying to write LinkedIn posts. He told me to write MY posts first, then make them work for LinkedIn.

So this morning… I tested it with THIS post. No frameworks or anything. I just wrote what I actually wanted to say… and then optimized it.

First time in weeks it didn’t feel like homework.

I wasted 7 loooong years trying to figure it out on my own.

Affiliate marketing. Copywriting. YouTube tutorials. Free courses.

I was 100% convinced I could crack the code myself.

Spoiler Alert: I couldn't.

Then my mum died. And suddenly, I had no choice but to make something work.

I got a little bit of money from her passing. Not much.

But enough to make a decision.

I could keep grinding alone like I had been for 7 years, or I could invest in someone who already had what I wanted.

I chose to invest in a mentor, and within a couple of months, I quit McDonald's.

7 years of constant failure vs 2 months with the right support.

The biggest shift wasn't even the strategy (although that helped massively).

It was the mindset.

I used to go into sales calls desperate and hoping they'd say yes. My mentor taught me to focus on something else:

"I want this client, but I don't need this client."

I know it's simple, but that one sentence changed everything.

When you stop chasing, people start paying attention.

So, if you're grinding alone right now, convinced you'll figure it out eventually... that was me for 7 years.

Still broke. Still stuck. Still making Cheeseburgers.

You don't get a medal for doing it the hard way.

Find someone who's already where you want to be. Model them, learn from them and invest in them if you can.

It's the shortcut I wish I'd taken much sooner.
