My journey as an entrepreneur saw me start a health business as a Nutritional Therapist and Personal Trainer with enthusiasm, optimism, and a deep desire to help people.  

Over time, enthusiasm and optimism were replaced by imposter syndrome, fear, disappointment, shame and disillusionment.  No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make it work because I didn't believe in myself or my abilities .  

Even when my clients gave me amazing feedback, I didn't believe them. Instead I listened to the voice in my head that said I was no good, a failure, and would never achieve anything.  

I have real compassion for who I was back then, if I could, I'd go back and give me a massive hug and tell me everything will be ok.  

I can't travel back in time, but I can help other women develop confidence and self belief, and I teach them step-by-step proven methods to create, market, and sell their offers in a way that feels easy and enjoyable.  

Your first few clients can be the hardest to find as you’re not so confident and you don’t know what to do to get results yet.  

I’ve tried and failed over and over again, and now I share what I've learnt that actually works.

I remember how exciting it was to generate my first £1K in my online business, and how that propelled me on to do it again and again.  That’s what I want for you.

💡 You can be proud of your kids and totally confused about your own life.

Humans are layered.
Women at this stage of life - when their kids are grown and even flown the nest?
Even more so.

You don't have to pick one feeling.

And this era brings up things you didn't plan for, mostly because you've finally got the space to actually hear yourself again.
Maybe for the first time in decades.

This is the in-between bit where your identity reshapes itself.

What's the weirdest thing about this phase for you?

If you look at your life and think I've spent decades being Mum…
and now I have no bloody idea who I am… you're not the only one.

Most women hit midlife and realise they’ve been doing stuff for other people for so long that their entire identity has been swallowed by everybody else’s to-dos.

So we do what we always do:

📚 We buy the self-help books.
🌐 We Google 'reinvent yourself after 50.'
🧘‍♀️ We save Instagram posts of women doing yoga on the beach in Bali.
😆 We tell ourselves we’ll sort everything out when things calm down (LOL).

And before you blame yourself (again), let me tell you what's really going on:

👉 You can’t get answers from thinking - only from reconnecting with YOURSELF.

And most women haven’t done that in years, because every time we try, the guilt and 'be grateful' voice kicks in like a smoke alarm.

But there is a way back to yourself - and you can start right now.

Something I've noticed when talking to women over 50 about "having the life you want"..

The thought that it always means big, drastic action that'll turn their life upside down, and the lives of the people they love.

It's no wonder most women dismiss the idea.  Who wants to be THAT person?

Who wants all that pain?
All that disruption?
All that loss?

Who wants to cause problems in other peoples lives just because you want something different in yours?

But this is exactly how we get trapped.
Thinking we are always responsible for everyone else's feelings.

Of course you don't want to upset anyone, but why is is always you who has to give up on what you really want?

Why do your feelings matter less than your loved ones? 
Why are only your dreams a 'silly fantasy'?

This is the way women are expected to behave - to put themselves last, to keep their goals small, and always put others first.

And even when your kids have grown up and you actually have the time to pursue what you want, the same old crap is still coming up.

❌ I couldn't do that..
❌ It's too selfish..
❌ I'm too old..

It's a pattern.
An idea you heard repeated 
So many times that it became a belief

But what if it's not true?

👍 What if you could?
👍 What if you deserve it?
👍 What if you're not too late or too old?

Part of going after the life you actually want to live after 50 is rewiring your brain 🧠

I'm almost 8 years alcohol-free.

I don't have a list of all the incredible ways my life has changed since I stopped drinking - 

❌ I'm not living my dream life (yet)
❌ I don't feel way more healthy 
❌ I still wake up at 3am sometimes
❌ I'm not filled with energy I didn't have before..

Life over the last few years has been challenging - navigating menopause, long-term relationship breakdown, health issues, separation from my children's father, losing my mum, career pivot, financial struggles, and ups and downs with my business - 

And all of this while trying to work through childhood trauma that can sometimes feel too big to ever get over.  

It hasn't been easy.  Like so many of you, I've found it hard. 
Sometimes I'm beyond exhausted with it all, I feel like that now.   

But this is the biggest win:
Doing it, facing all of this big shitty life stuff that so many - most - of us do, WITHOUT alcohol.

Before, I would have turned to a wine bottle, probably daily, if I'm honest. 

I would have justified it with
"I'm a single mum"
"My mum is dying"
"My ex cheated"  and so on.

I would have used it to blot out the pain.

But this way, doing it sober, I've had to feel it all.  
And face my own part in the story.

And slowly, one day at a time, I've got to know myself so much better.
I've learnt what I can handle and where I need support.

I've seen my destructive patterns 
I've witnessed my self-sabotage
And I've watched this newer, stronger, more honest me emerge.  

I've been able to support my kids
NONE of it is their fault but ALL of it impacts them
And if I'd been drinking I wouldn't have been able to keep the loving, secure, and welcoming home for them (and their friends) that I have.

And the thing is, I can only see all of this now, months and even years later.

I guess what I am saying is this: if you've stopped drinking and you don't feel better or see any real benefits, maybe you're in the middle, or right at the start of creating them.

Maybe you can't yet see the transformation you're in. 
Even if it feels like nothing is different, it is, and you are.

Sometimes the wins take a long time to show up - keep going, yours are coming too and it will all  be worth it ❤️
