Beyond the inherent tasks and duties of a CSO, I trained the IT staff in computer security using the same material as the Hackers Festival seminar. 

When I arrived to this company, they were already been hacked three times. The company just installed a FW on Linux and contacted me to test the new system. 2 days after that we held a meeting with the most important people of the company, including the CEO. When they asked me about the results, I asked the names of each one in the meeting and told them his/her password. Everybody was in shock. 

After that, there were 14 years without any security issues.

I implemented all kind of security software to protect the WAN, including, but not limited to FWs,(SideWinder FW) from NAI (Network Associates Inc.) which protected the company for almost 12 years, then new IT manager changed for a new FW.

Together with the security software, were installed, configured and implemented Mail Servers, DNS Servers ( configured several domains, public networks, reverse domains to IPs), several WEB servers on different platforms, Windows domain controllers, DHCP Servers, etc.).

From 2004 to 2010, I developed the corporate WEB site and the e-commerce website, to accomplish the second, was necessary to read/write directly to an IBM MAINFRAME, where was residing an Oracle Data Base.

I continue with some personal projects as the creation of the Hackersfestival seminar held in Bogotá at the UNIVERSIDAD NUEVA GRANADA.

Before moving to Brazil, I was able to implement IIS, APACHE AND JUNIPER WEB SERVERS, ORACLE, SYBASE, MS-SQL, MYSQL DATABASE SERVERS, EXCHANGE, LOTUS NOTES, MERCUR and other MAIL SERVERS, Microsoft and Linux DNS SERVERS. I had plenty of knowledge and experience in routing to connect several LANs into WANs. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP. was able to find thousands of vulnerabilities in many environments and operating systems.

I'm specialized finding vulnerabilities in databases. As a curious fact, I was able to hack into a company in seconds via ORACLE and MS-SQL as part of the vulnerability tests I developed.

Installed, configured and implemented networks for more than 300 companies. During the first 8 years the focus was Novell Networks, After that I started to implement Windows NT networks.

I helped hundreds of companies to achieve the status of digital companies, helping them to put their paper data and manual procedures into computers and networks.

FICSYS, was the CRM software I developed, and up today there are still many companies using that software. In 1997 I decided to make public the source code and trained some computer programmers to continue improving the software.

FICSYS allowed billing, inventories, portfolio, managing bank accounts, payroll and payments to suppliers.

It was designed for commercial and industrial companies and allowed to carry the inventory of raw materials, intermediate materials to final products. Accounting for raw material and indirect production costs until obtaining the final product, with all its production costs. Even adding the payroll expenses and the payment of the same.

Installation, Configuration and implementation of all McAfee / Network Associates software. Network Vulnerabilities Assessment for hundreds of clients. Including Senado de la república, Banco de la República and many other government entities and private companies in Colombia.

I also installed, configured and implemented the McAfee Help Desk on tens of companies, including ECOPETROL. At the time ECOPETROL had a NOVELL NetWare Network, which was very easy for me to implement all the necessary to put the Help Desk in production. In order to do that was necessary too, to start from the ground-up, including the installation of an ORACLE DATA BASE SERVER, create the schemas, tables, views, triggers and everything that was required. Importing all the necessary data to put everything to work.

All my experience and knowledge of data base servers was put on a test. I had to install, configure and implement several database servers from diverse vendors like MS-SQL, ORACLE, SYBASE,

Was in this company where started the development of A CRM, Which later was going to be known as FICSYS.

I sold them their first computer. And started the development of all routines necessarily to systematize the company. The first routines or programs let the users create the master files, like Clients, providers and Products.

While the data was getting introduced into the databases using the initial routines, the module for controlling the inventory was developed, the inventory had options to print the orders to the providers. The printed orders were sent to the provider, and they should deliver the products matching the orders.

When the provider delivered the products, was easily introduced into the system, by just comparing the provider invoice with the order, making the process almost 100% error free. On that case, the only the operator used to do, was adding the providers invoice number e automatically the invoice was added to the system for payment. On rare occasions some product just wasn't delivered, so the operator had the way to create the provider invoice and let the missing product still on the order for future delivery. On the time the product cost could be calculated in several ways. But this company in particular choose the median average calculated for the cost and the sale price was calculated automatically according with the new median cost.

The next module was developed almost at the same time. The invoicing module, which let to create and print the invoices for the clients. This process discounted automatically the inventory, printing an out of the inventory order and associated the invoice with the client for payment credit if necessary. Specially because the client always used to pay after receiving the goods.

The company used this software up to the company closed in

At first I Installed, configured and implemented A Novell network WITH 6 computers, I ASSEMBLED the computers WITH the network CARDS, did the CABLING and put the network to run.

Installed, configured and implemented the CRM software. 

In order to implement the software, was necessary to create the master files from the ground-up, like products and clients. In the beginning, the data was acquired from manual written by hand books.

The invoice printing models were designed according to the client's layout and wishes too.

The FICSYS software was in use for almost 20 years up to 2007.
