These two photos were taken one day apart.

On the left, I’m dressed up, full of energy, coming off a packed week of work and my friend’s 20-year marriage anniversary that turned into a proper celebration.

On the right, it’s the next day.

And I’m completely out.

I’ve always been labelled “the hater.”

At university, I couldn’t stand the crowd.

I like to slash prices at the first point of contact with every client.

For example, I charge $3k for a service that brought clients $100k+ in sales.

Some say I’m naive, but they're missing out on an important point;

The idea is to close the sale, then massively overdeliver.

Before you know it, this client is coming back.

Only this time, they're not asking about the price.

Being a solopreneur is crazy hard.

Yeah, it's easier to get started today:

- The sum of human knowledge is at your fingertips.
- You can reach anyone, anywhere, without leaving your house.
- The answers to every question you can think of, and more? 2 clicks away.

But it's also easier to get confused:

- Who do you listen to?
- Which strategy should you adopt?
- How do you stand out from the other guy selling the same thing?

And a thousand other questions that lead you away from your end goal.

The harsh truth:

You can't afford to get confused.

The solution?

→ Stop reading how-to guides.
→ Stop following the latest trend.
→ Start looking for someone who's already where you want to be.
→ Start following in their footsteps by adapting their systems to your business.

I may not be the right person for you to emulate.

A sexy name can make a big difference in sales.

In fact, it can be the main differentiator between a 3, 4, or 5-figure promo campaign.

That said, below are a few of my best-performing offer names.

(The first one’s for internal use so ignore it.)

If you pay close attention, you’ll notice they:

→ Lead with a specific, tangible outcome.

 “The $2.35M LinkedIn Bundle.”

→ Signal contrast or tension.

 “Hard Value vs. Soft Value.”

→ Speak to people I intentionally want to attract.

 “Content Pillars That Monetize (Not Grow) Your Audience.”


Sexy names sell in large numbers.

Half the battle is already won in the first five words.

I’ve spent the last week going through my entire Google Drive.

Years of writing. Old offers. Old client work.

When you zoom out like that, patterns start jumping out.

Here’s what I noticed:

✔️ What you’re doing now is your best content.

Every single time I closed a client, it was because I was writing from experience.

- Trends I figured out.
- Strategies that brought results.
- Where I went wrong. (and what to do instead)

There’s something oddly powerful about building in public.

Almost as though it’s irresistible to the reader.

But it makes total sense.

When you talk about the problems you’re solving in real time—

Everything naturally relates back to your ideal clients.


✔️ Case studies are your path to profit.

Chances are, you already have more proof, momentum, and case studies than you think.

You just haven’t been documenting them properly.

I realised that from a single 60-min Masterclass I ran back in 2023:

→ Carlo got 3 leads worth between $45k-$150k in total.
→ Sonia got 2 high-ticket clients on retainer. (I didn’t even write down the numbers.)
→ Dior got her first one-off client and 1 retainer client. (After she wanted to give up on her business.)
→ Darren got his first retainer client at $800/month.

Each of these results is a case study, and each case study is one step away from making an extra $5,000+ a month.

Because the easiest way to attract new clients is by talking about the work you’ve done with past clients.

So sit down, map out 2-3 client transformations, and post about them.

This is how you turn 1 client result into a line of ideal clients knocking at your door.


✔️ Your learning speed is determined by your willingness to look stupid.

Going through years of my own work made that painfully obvious.

Every day, I'm getting over myself.

What I said in the last client session. What I posted 2 years ago. And not to mention the level of cringe when I read a sales page I wrote back in 2020.

But the faster you’re willing to be wrong, the faster you’ll be right.

When you leave your ego at the door, progress follows, and so does the profit.

So back into the trenches we go.

In 2020, no one had any idea who I was.

- They didn't know what I did.
- They didn't know what I stood for.
- And they definitely didn't want to hear me talk.

Fast forward to 2026:

- The VP of Brand Marketing at a $2B company
- 6-figure Consultants
- Senior Fortune 500 lawyers turned Coaches
- Justin Timberlake’s former Social Media Manager

All joined the Authority Club.

What happened in between?

Nothing magical. The path is pretty straightforward.
(and stupidly repeatable):

Pick a profitable problem your clients need solving now.
Identify who is willing to pay you to solve it for them.
Then build the rest of your business around that one thing.
And talk about it daily.

Extract topics from what you're working on, then pull out your swipe file & proven templates to turn those topics into profitable content.

Take this week as an example:

- I went through my old G Drive and wrote 2 case studies from client wins I’d forgotten about.
- I mapped out my plan to scale to consistent $30K months, and posted about it.
- 3 clients got 3 big results. (Created 1 post, saved the other 2 for next week.)
- Identified a follow-up that consistently closed high-ticket deals, then wrote an email about it.
- Got a great testimonial, published it.
- Simon started rewriting his LinkedIn profile. (Saved the idea for a future newsletter.)
- Wrote this post outlining the above.

Plugged them all into prewritten templates, so I could write fast.

And just like that, I had ten days of targeted content, all while building in public.

2 years ago, I launched my group coaching program, the Authority Club.

It’s one of the best models I’ve run.

But also one of the easiest to underestimate.

Here are the pros & cons.

PROS:

➕ Recurring revenue. Predictable income gives you peace of mind and takes the pressure off every single month.
➕ Leverage. You deliver once and help many people at the same time.
➕ Built-in social proof. Wins stack fast, so you constantly have results to share.
➕ Scalability. You can grow without your workload increasing at the same rate.
➕ Better thinking. Questions you’d never get in 1:1 sharpen your frameworks.
➕ The people inside are a BIG value add. The shared learning inside the group is phenomenal.

CONS:

➖ Energy management is real. You’re not just coaching, you’re holding the room together.
➖ Not everyone gets equal attention. Some people will always need more than the format allows.
➖ You need serious structure. You can’t “wing it” like in 1:1.
➖ Harder to personalise. Advice has to land for multiple people at once.
➖ Churn hits differently. When people leave, you feel it.
➖ Community doesn’t build itself. Building & marketing a community isn’t for the faint-hearted.

→ Step 2. Scale Without Hiring.

As a solopreneur, you only have so much time in the day.

A few 1:1s, a couple of group sessions, and you’re already running at capacity.

This is why I’m adding one layer that’s infinitely scalable, generates recurring revenue, and acts as the backbone of your solo operation.

All without adding extra work to your plate, or hiring more people.


→ Step 3. Sell On Autopilot.

I recently stopped running my “Set & Forget” email funnel while restructuring parts of my business.

As a result:

- Revenue has become inconsistent.
- Income now comes from 1 source instead of 3, making the business less resilient.
- Leads are tied to hustle. As soon as I stop writing, enquiries slow down.

An email funnel that runs in the background solves all of these problems.

It stabilises your revenue, sells different offers that appeal to different audience problems & spending power, ​​and keeps bringing in sales while you focus on other things.

This is how you write once, sell forever, and keep compounding over time. 

That’s why my main focus now is to keep building systems that protect my time, make my business harder to break, and easier to run.

All while getting paid handsomely in return.


→ Main Challenges:

- Learning new skills needed to support this growth. (main one: paid ads)
- OCDina getting stuck in endless polishing. (set deadlines & ship)
- Prioritising actions that directly drive revenue. (at least 70% of the time)

Turn the steps into small offers. Break the BIG problem you solve into smaller steps that link into each other.

Think live workshops, masterclasses, bundles, short programs. Each one solves a specific part of the bigger problem.

→ Step 4.
Offer the full process. Once someone solves the first problem with you, the next one appears.

That’s when you offer the full process through group coaching.
Now you’re upselling in bulk instead of one client at a time.

→ Step 5.
Offer more access. Clients who work with you, see how you think and get results will naturally want more access.

This one question helped me close deals faster:

It sounds simple, but it forces a timeline.

Now the prospect is picturing the outcome… with a date attached to it.

And that’s when things move.

→ Little & Often: This model is all about working fast & charging low. You’re good enough to be in high demand, but still scared of charging your worth. Be prepared to jump models before you burn out. (Medium time, low price)

→ Average Joe: This one's neither super profitable nor time-intensive. It’s where most people say “good enough” & stop looking for improvements. To grow, you need to identify what’s missing in your life, and choose a model that gets it for you. (Medium time, medium price)

→ High Earners: This is for those high-level experts who’ve beaten the feast or famine cycle. You take on 1 or 2 massive projects/year & always have another lined up. On paper, you’ve made it, but there’s still room for growth if you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone. (Medium time, high price)

→ Automaster: You’ve mastered the art of low-ticket. Selling $100-$500 offers on autopilot with minimal time investment. To get here, you’ve taken the steps to create an Evergreen Funnel, filled it with hungry subscribers & now the whole thing runs in the background. (Low time, low price)

→ Community Coach: Congratulations, you’ve risen through the ranks & now stand in the Top 1% of the 1% Coaches. This one's about solving client problems at scale, with multiple offer layers ensuring that you get paid what your time is worth. (Low time, medium price)

→ ConsulKing: You’re the cream of the crop. All those years spent handling expensive problems for big-name brands have paid off. Now, instead of spending 6 months doing everything yourself, they pay you the big bucks for a couple of hours of your time. (Low time, big price)

In 2013, this 22-year-old* started building homes out of a plant that was still illegal to grow in the United States.

There were multiple points where he nearly had to close the doors.

He didn’t.

Twelve years later, his company is on track for $3.5M in revenue — and quietly building one of the better carbon stories in building materials.

Meet Mattie Mead, Co-Founder and CEO of Hempitecture.

Mead studied architecture, environmental sciences, and studio art at Hobart College in New York.

He graduated convinced that how we build things was one of the biggest climate problems nobody was seriously addressing.

Buildings account for nearly 40% of global carbon emissions.

The insulation inside them — fiberglass, mineral wool, foam — is energy-intensive to produce and doesn’t biodegrade.

Hemp, he believed, was the answer.

Fast-growing. Carbon-sequestering. Thermally excellent.

The problem: it was a Schedule 1 substance.

He pitched the idea at a college competition in 2013.

A judge looked him in the eye:

“So let me get this straight — you’re trying to build houses out of a Schedule 1 substance?”

He started the company anyway.

With his high school friend Tommy Gibbons, a Princeton grad who had left Goldman Sachs, they traveled job to job for years building hempcrete homes.

Mead had to import all his raw materials.

There were near-bankruptcies.
They self-funded everything.

Then the 2018 Farm Bill changed everything — industrial hemp was legalized.

Today, Hempitecture makes hemp fiber insulation products that compete directly with fiberglass and mineral wool:

It's humbling.

I haven't done anything close to formal studying in 9+ years.

And the 18-year-olds in the same course are probably better at it than I am.

But I'm also more motivated than I've ever been.

Back in high school, I'd scoff at nerds doing physics.

(not that I was a cool kid or anything)

Now, I want to actually understand the science behind what I write about every day.

And then maybe apply it to something else 👀

I've spent the last 6 days on a small ghostwriting retreat in Norway. Here are my 5 main takeaways:

1/ The next evolution of ghostwriting services will involve 3 AI systems, lots of context, and engineering that doesn't need an engineering background.

Mel, our resident ghost engineer, spent the entire trip working with Claude Code on how to create a software-like interface for content creation.

The idea is simple: someone with writing expertise should be able to generate and oversee client content using just Slack, for example, but the number of clients you manage can be 3-4x higher than normal.

2/ Your goal in life directly reflects how you run your business (obvious, I know, but bear with me).

I personally don't want an agency and live in a rather chill country of Finland 🇫🇮 As a result, I don't chase insane €100k/mo revenue goals or aspire to build the next unicorn. I take it slow but deliberately.

Thomas is similar. He lives in Geilo where the pace of life is even slower. He has a wonderful family and community he prioritises. Scaling beyond his current setup is not the highest priority. He's not even that present online himself.

Melany, on the other hand, is a COO of a rapidly scaling agency that's building new AI systems. She craves experimentation and a healthy (sometimes) dose of hustle needed for it.

Tommaso charges a fat premium, wants an agency, but make it sustainable rather than grow fast, break things, Silicon Valley style.

All of us are ghostwriters.

But how we run our ops directly reflects our life priorities.

3/ People you meet can be the biggest leverage to getting ahead.

It's quite common to feel behind with all the AI stuff releasing daily. I struggle to keep up with Claude Cowork for example.

Tomasso, for instance, kept saying he felt behind. Well, we all shared our advice and resources with each other and I'm fairly sure he's now knees deep in them.

If a week ago he felt ridiculously behind, in another week I'm sure he'll be ridiculously ahead.

4/ I can see myself living in the mountainous little town of Geilo, Norway.
It's quiet. Beautiful. Lots of mountains. Lovely community whose language I don't speak (yet!). And suuuuper cozy.

I loved my peaceful time there so much I'm definitely coming back. Potentially next year. Wink wink, Thomas.

Heck, I might even give in and get into skiing and watching soccer if that's what it takes.

5/ I'm going all-in on building a Digital Brain for myself and my clients.

Four ghostwriters in one house. Four completely different systems for managing client context, AI tools, and content pipelines.

Watching everyone's setup over 6 days convinced me this is the next big idea for people who build content businesses. Not the AI tools themselves, the infrastructure around them.

This month, my tiny biz turned 3 years 🥳

Which is kinda crazy when you think about it because in that time, I've:

→ Built 21 influential personal brands (14 in climate)
→ Been featured in a magazine for the first time
→ Found my dream niche (climate tech)
→ Worked with 3 Top Voices in climate
→ Had my first €100k year (in 2025)
→ Visited the LinkedIn HQ
→ Given workshops

All solo, without a team or even a VA. 

Now, it's been pretty tough (and still is) along the way.

And I know you must be wondering "omg, Roman, any advice?"

Plenty. But instead of giving you a generic answer like "be kind", or "be yourself" or "be authentic" — that one makes me wanna puke — there's probably one thing that's contributed to most of my growth:

→ Sticking to one direction

A lot of my peers are either out of business, still struggling after their 6th pivot, or have become mega successful and diluted their values.

And the biggest cause? Uncertainty.

I had to eliminate it by being audaciously obsessed with my direction.

For me, it meant:

→ Picking climate tech as a niche (after I validated it) 
→ Unsubscribing from 95% of content I follow (and sticking to 2-3 sources) 
→ Running controlled tactical experiments (and doubling down on what's worked)

And the single biggest support system I have is Premium Ghostwriting Academy run by Nicolas Cole 🚢👻 and Dickie Bush 🚢. My ghostwriting biz would still be stuck without them.

For you, it might be different.

But I bet it's some mix of radical focus, experimental mindset, and the right community to support you along the way.

One thing Chris Do and I have in common?

We've both been guests on Sergey Leshchenko's Be Yourself podcast.

Sergey asked me how I built my business from scratch.

The honest version: I had 15,000 followers when I quit my last job. Not one of them would've hired me.

I'd spent two years at my last company building a personal brand around helping young marketers.

The moment I wanted to ghostwrite for founders, I realized I'd built for completely the wrong people.

Nine months of experimenting followed:

Nothing clicked.

Then climate tech.

I went in with only passion. Zero industry knowledge. Not what people recommend, right?

My first client was an angel investor in food tech. I gave her a big discount in exchange for something more valuable: sessions where she'd teach me about the space.

That's how I started to learn a niche I had no business being in.

Over two years in now. Still learning. But it's paying off.

I can now close new deals by simply saying "oh yeah, I've work with 2-3 founders just like you."

The fastest way to build authority in a new climate niche:

Stop talking about yourself.

Almost a year ago, I started highlighting a climate tech founder every Monday.

Not the famous ones. Not the people raising $200M or working with Bill Gates. Lesser-known founders doing exceptional work that most people hadn't heard of yet.

I called it Climate Founder Mondays.

At first, I just thought these founders deserved more attention. And I wanted to be more embedded in the world I was writing for.

38 founders later:

The quality of who's engaging with my content changed. Climate tech founders, VCs, senior execs started showing up in my comments and DMs. New conversations started. Clients came from spaces I hadn't even been targeting.

Here's why it worked — and why a content series might be the most underrated move on LinkedIn:

1/ It builds credibility without you having to claim it.

When you consistently highlight what's worth paying attention to in your ecosystem, your audience starts to see you as someone with their finger on the pulse.

I had almost no track record in climate tech when I started. A year of Monday posts helped change that.

2/ Every post reaches an audience you'd never get to otherwise.

Before each post, I connect with the founder I'm featuring. After it goes live, I send one message:

"Hey, wrote a post about your work. Hope you like it."

About 2 out of 3 posts get reshared by someone from that founder's community — people who had never heard of me before.

One post about Liz Dennett, CEO of Endolith, brought roughly 20-30 chemical engineers and sustainable mining specialists into my orbit in a single week.

3/ It makes consistency effortless.

A content series kills the blank page problem at least once a week. The format is already decided.

You pick the who or the what and follow the structure. After a few weeks, it becomes a habit.

The research becomes interesting. The writing becomes almost secondary.

This approach is built on 'borrowed credibility' concept.

3 things to avoid if you try this approach:

First, make sure you still show your own credibility in other posts. Your journey, behind-the-scenes, other proof of progress. Takes both to become the category leader.

Second, don't share the same viral videos everyone else is sharing on LinkedIn. I can't tell you how many people have posted about Notpla, for example, 2-3 times in the last 3 months.

Third, keep it within your niche. If you're a solar founder, maybe don't highlight vertical farming. Tempting, I know.

I named my business Kaizen.

Most people assume it's a clever brand name.

It's actually more of a personal commitment.

Kaizen (改善) is a Japanese concept: continuous, incremental improvement — as a way of life, but also a strategy.

I started using it as a business principle in 2023.

3 years in, it's still the most useful framework I've found.

In practice, it means:

→ Every client's content gets measurably better over 12 months. I'm constantly refining.

→ My internal processes become more efficient. I've recently been working only 5 days a week, yet I have more clients than ever.

→ I'm always upskilling and building. Could be sales practice, a new vertical, or adding email to my strategy.

The problem with LinkedIn is that most people are chasing the spike.

The viral post. The big announcement.

But true visibility doesn't work that way.

It builds quietly. Over months.

Till one day you look up and realize you're the person people think of first.

Does your brand name hold a deeper meaning you haven't shared?

Her mother fled Chile as a political prisoner.

Decades later, her daughter returned — and found something in its forests that changed environmental law in 20+ countries.

Meet Giuliana Furci, Founder of the Fungi Foundation — and the woman who convinced the world that conservation has been protecting two kingdoms when it should have been protecting three.

Giuliana grew up in London, raised by a Chilean exile who survived the 1973 coup. At 14, her family moved to Chile. She enrolled in aquaculture — fish farming — at the Universidad de Los Lagos in Osorno. She had no plans to become a scientist.

At 19, she walked into a forest and saw a mushroom she couldn't name. She looked for a field guide. There was no dedicated guide to Chile's fungi.

So she spent the next five years travelling the length of the country, photographing over 6,000 specimens. She taught herself mycology. She became the first female mycologist of non-lichenized fungi in Chile — entirely self-taught.

In 2012, she founded the Fungi Foundation — the first NGO in the world dedicated solely to fungi.

The argument was simple: most conservation frameworks protect "fauna and flora" — animals and plants. But fungi are neither. They are a separate kingdom. And they had been written out of the law.

She changed that.

→ 2013: Chile became the first country in the world to include fungi in its environmental legislation

→ Co-launched the Fauna Flora Funga Initiative — now advocating for fungi inclusion in conservation frameworks across 20+ countries

→ COP16 (2024): Partnered with Chile and the UK to launch the Fungal Conservation Pledge, backed by 10+ additional governments

→ Climate Breakthrough Award 2025 — $4M in funding alongside mycologist Merlin Sheldrake and Prof. Toby Kiers

→ 30+ research papers co-authored; 138 species proposed for IUCN assessment

→ Online curriculum reaching 6,199 enrollments from 97 countries

There are an estimated 2.2–3.8 million species of fungi on Earth. Only around 150,000 have been named. They are the quiet infrastructure of every ecosystem — the networks that feed forests, sequester carbon, and connect roots underground. And until Giuliana, fungi were almost entirely absent from environmental law.

A guy my client knew 5 years ago reached out last week about a £1M Airbus contract.

He'd moved from a mid-size manufacturer to one of the world's largest aerospace companies.

My client asked him why he reached out after all that time.

Apparently, he'd been following my client's LinkedIn for months before making the move. He knew what the company was building, who they were working with, where the technology had gone.

By the time he reached out, there was no cold start. No "remind me what you do again."

He'd already decided. LinkedIn just gave him the signal to act.

This is what LinkedIn actually does in enterprise climate tech.

Sales cycles run 12-18 months minimum. Sometimes longer. The pipeline is full of people who aren't ready yet, but they're watching.

The decision-maker who attended your webinar 18 months ago. The buyer who moved companies. The investor who passed at Seed but is watching your Series A story unfold.

Posting consistently keeps you warm with people who already know you, until they're ready to move.

My client's words when he told me this:

"Would that person have reached out if he'd just thought we were another company? Probably not."

If you're in enterprise B2B climate tech and wondering why LinkedIn feels slow: you're playing a longer game than you or those LinkedIn coaches (lots of them gurus) realize.

Your pipeline already exists. Most of it just isn't ready yet.

PS. My client gets 7 likes and 1 comment per post on avg. btw. Nothing fancy.

I've spoken with investors who told me directly: they pull up a founder's LinkedIn before every first call.

They're looking for conviction. Curiosity. Someone worth backing beyond the slides.

What they usually find: a job title, a company link, and three posts from 2022.

It's disappointing.

Investors notice a few things:

→ Does this founder understand their industry, or just their product?
→ Are they building in public, or hiding until the big announcement?
→ Do they have a point of view, or are they too scared to speak up?

None of these show up in a pitch deck. All of them show up in 18 months of consistent posting.

If that sounds like you, I want you to read what I'm about to say very carefully:

It's okay. But you gotta hustle.

First, pick one thing you learned about your market this month that surprised you.

Then, write one post about it. Not a product update. The thing you saw that nobody in your space is talking about yet.

That's the post that makes an investor think: "This founder gets it."

Do it once a week for 6 months. Connect with the right investors. And you'll spend less time chasing warm intros.

Do you ever wish you'd started on LinkedIn earlier?

PS. The investors I've seen respond most aren't reacting to viral posts. They're reacting to the steady, specific ones nobody liked much at the time.

I've ghostwritten for 14 climate tech leaders over the past 3 years. Almost all of them started with the same problem:

They knew exactly what to talk about. They just couldn't make posting happen consistently.

If you think that's a discipline problem — it's not.

It's a workflow problem. And it's completely solvable.

The leaders I've helped go from "I post when I remember" to posting every week didn't suddenly find more time. They built a system that makes showing up the path of least resistance.

One left her corporate career at P&G. The other dropped out of medical school.

Today, they're backed by Y Combinator and building the world's first polyester alternative made from food waste.

Meet Myra Arshad and Avneet Ghotra, co-founders of ALT TEX.

Myra grew up watching her mother run a cut-and-sew business she'd built from scratch after immigrating from Pakistan.

That put Myra inside the fashion industry's dirty secret:

60% of all clothing contains polyester.

A petroleum-derived material responsible for 35% of all ocean microplastics that never biodegrades.

Meanwhile, her best friend Avneet was at U of T studying environmental science and biochemistry.

She cared deeply about the problem.

She just didn't know yet that Myra had the missing piece.

In 2019, Myra called Avneet with a plan.

"Come to my kitchen. Let's figure this out."

Avneet left medical school. Myra left P&G.

They started experimenting with discarded apples, banana peels, rotten tomatoes — whatever post-industrial food waste they could get their hands on.

Their breakthrough?

A patent-pending fermentation process that converts food waste into biodegradable biofibre that works with existing polyester supply chains.

No factory overhaul required.

Each shirt made from ALT TEX fabric:

→ Diverts 1 kg of food waste from landfill 
→ Avoids 9 kg of carbon emissions 
→ Prevents 4 g of microplastics from entering the ocean 
→ Is 70% stronger than cotton

But turning a kitchen experiment into a commercial fabric isn't exactly easy.

They had to convince university professors to validate their findings, secure government grants, and navigate deep-tech materials science.

The persistence paid off.

It's always interesting to me. In her case, she'd spent 8 years building something the world can't afford to ignore.

She had opinions, stories, and proof — everywhere.

Her problem wasn't the lack of copywriting knowledge.

She had an idea capture problem.

What's your relationship with LinkedIn right now?

5 types of climate tech founders I don't take on as clients (the most common one surprises people):

1/ The 30-day trialist.

My model doesn't fit them.

Building your online visibility is not the same as running ads. Month 1 is extraction — learning your voice, your stories, your angle on the industry. Month 2 is calibration. By month 3, things start clicking.

And months 4-6 is where we double down on what's worked.

30 days doesn't give either of us a fair shot. My standard is 6 months. And I've now had six clients go over 1 year, and three over 2 years.

2/ The dismissive self-publisher.

They take my draft, rewrite most of it, then post it as their own.

I get it. It's their profile. Their voice.

But if a founder rewrites everything I send, we have a process problem, not a content problem. The founders who see results either send me back "looks good" with one or two small tweaks or a wall of comments with their feedback. 
It's always collaborative.

Joe's (my solar client) usual message: "I'll leave it to you — you're the expert."

3/ The unpositioned founder.

The one who can't clearly describe who they're targeting.

And I'm not trying to scare away early-stage folks.

But the founders I work best with can tell me: "Homeowners in Texas who have solar but can't get their utility to buy back the excess." Or: "Ops managers at mid-size industrial sites who've tried efficiency audits before and been burned."

Specific. Grounded. Drawn from customer conversations.

We could experiment with your positioning if you have patience and the resources. I actually enjoy being experimental. But if you need results next month, we're not a good fit.

4/ The micromanagers.

Sounds obvious but you'll be surprised.

I had to fire 2 leads right before they signed the agreement. Why? Well, they asked for my expert opinion, I gave it, they didn't like it, were rude to me as if I'm some poor intern, so I fired them. If there can be no respect between us, there can be no business.

5/ The AI-crazed VCs.

Another shade of dismissiveness.

I've had several partners compare me to an AI agent they could build instead. 

They have ZERO appreciation for writers. They go through service providers with severe commitment issues. All while having insane goals.

No shit, I had a VC tell me she wants me to use an AI agent workflow (which I had to figure out) to create 7 separate 'fake' LinkedIn profiles that represent her team members and write every day for all 7 using AI. Safe to say, a year later, and her own profile is as bare as it was when we talked.

These filters protect the quality of the work, my sanity, and my clients' time.

Because the moment I commit to something unsustainable, the rest of my work suffers.

And I'm not playing that domino.

What's your tell for knowing a collaboration will or won't work?

…I just took my first step towards my STEM degree!

I’m now officially a student at Aalto Open University. And I decided to start with a course that would’ve given me a headache 5 years ago:

Metallurgical Engineering and Technical Analysis of Lifecycle and Sustainability.

Or M.E.T.A.L.S. for short.

(gotta love the creative name)

I picked it for a few reasons:

- It’s 100% self-faced and online
- It’s 5 CTS (I need 45 to qualify for a bachelors)
- I have time till end of June to submit the assignments
- And metals are kinda cool (idk where this is coming from)

I’ve put aside about 5h/week as a start for this.

Meet Erika Boeing, Founder and CEO of Accelerate Wind.

Erika didn't come from the cleantech world.

She studied mechanical engineering at Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering — a school built on the idea that engineers should build things, not just study them.

After graduating, she joined DRS Technologies as a systems engineer. Her work: off-grid waste-to-energy systems, water transport technology, energy efficiency in challenging environments. Not glamorous. Genuinely hard.

Ten years in early-stage energy tech. Then a Fulbright Scholarship landed her in the Netherlands for a master's in Society, Science, and Technology at Maastricht University.

That's where the brewery came in.

One evening, looking across the street at a row of European buildings, something clicked.

When wind hits a building, it doesn't stop. It accelerates as it flows over the roofline.

Every building in every city is generating a pocket of fast-moving air — and throwing it away.

She came home and built around it.

Accelerate Wind's patented airfoil hangs over the edge of a building's roofline, captures that accelerated wind, and feeds it into rooftop turbines.

The result?

An average of 25% more power generation added on top of existing rooftop solar — using wind energy that was already there, just being wasted.

Today, Accelerate Wind has:

→ Filed 3 patents on the core technology 
→ Completed a residency at Argonne National Lab (the DOE's Chain Reaction Innovations program) 
→ Earned recognition from Project Drawdown as a Climate Fellow 
→ Had their latest prototype covered by Fast Company

The buildings already running solar? They're sitting on untapped energy every time the wind blows.

If you have a co-founder, should you both be posting on LinkedIn?

I've written for 6 co-founders in the past 3 years.

If you can afford it, then you should.

And 'afford' can mean different things:

- Budget
- Time to DIY it
- Internal fears you refuse to let go

But if none of these are a problem, here's a simple playbook:

Step 1: Pick a unique angle each.

A CEO is typically an investor-facing representative of the company.

A CRO is someone who's actively engaged in day-to-day sales & revenue.

A CTO is the tech guy who tends to dislike social media as a whole but loves talking about the technical topics.

Each serves a purpose.

Step 2: Do the 2-Year Test on stories unique to you.

Go back 2 years and think:

What problems have you solved?
What were you wrong about?
What milestones have you had?

I guarantee you'll find something your co-founder could never copy-paste.

Step 3: Prep the page before writing.

Instead of staring at a blank page, make sure every draft has a skeleton:

- Headline/hook
- Short intro (context & credibility)
- Main points (1-7)
- Conclusion

Step 4: Pick a hybrid posting schedule.

Say, one founder posts Mon & Wed.

Another Tue & Thu.

That way, your target reader gets a consistent and diverse flow of content.

If you have a co-founder, are they posting online? And if not, do you know why?

PS. Just got back from a trip to Norway.

A climate investor once told me something I haven't stopped thinking about.

She sees 300+ inbound decks a year.

Before any meeting, she does one thing: she Googles the founder.

Not the company. The founder.

She's not looking for awards or press features.

They're important, but they don't tell her much about the person.

She's looking for proof that this person understands the problem they're solving — and can articulate why NOW is the moment.

That's it.

A few questions she goes through:

→ Do they have a point of view?
→ Can they explain their sector without buzzwords?
→ Do they engage with what's happening in the space — or just announce their own milestones?

Most founders who are fundraising right now undermine their strategy.

They build a content strategy around their company.

But investors want to meet the founder, not the brand.

After all, they're investing millions in the leadership and the team.
