Zoomers, Millennials  and Gen X aren't just “bad with money.” They were handed a fundamentally different economic reality.

Boomers came of age during the most favorable 70-year economic expansion in modern history. 

They bought homes at 2-3x income. 

Single-earner households were viable. 

Jobs were stable and often came with pensions. 

Savings accounts earned 7 to 9%. 

You didn't have to compete with the entire globe for Education and employment opportunities. 

That system was fueled by debt, industrial growth, and postwar expansion. 

But the structural costs—$38 trillion in national debt and over $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities—will not be their burden. 

That burden falls on their children and grandchildren.

If you’re under 45, you likely graduated into one of the economic crises or it's immediate aftermath. 

The Dot Com bust
The Housing Crisis. 
The COVID lockdowns
Quantitative easing on a scale never seen before. 

Now, as you’re in your peak earning and family-raising years, you’re holding on for dear life. 

At every stage, opportunity narrowed. 

Educational access shifted under diversity and equity mandates. 

Employment was shaped by affirmative action policies and global labor competition. 

Jobs were offshored or filled through visa pipelines. 

Meanwhile, inflation hit a 40-year high, property taxes soared, and healthcare and insurance costs consumed more of your income.

Increased cost of living and reduced purchasing power aren’t just annoyances. 

They cut into long-term savings and earning potential. 

Higher interest rates in the Boomer era rewarded saving. 

Today, even a “high-yield” savings account is half of inflation.

Boomers bought homes for two to three times income, while earning steady interest on cash. Millennials and Gen X now face home prices at five to eight times income, with negligible returns on savings.

So no, the younger genes do not need to just skip their Starbucks and save more money. 

Spare us the diatribes.  

What is needed is mentorship, patronage, community, and tribal ties.

I met a 30 year old indian guy  the other day that ownes 5 homes and two gas stations. 

How?

His entire extended family is dedicated to common ownership and nepotistic behavior.  

They are all in on the family. 

They have multiple generations in the same house, everyone has a hustle, even the kids, and they pool their resources. 

If Americans are going to survive the next 30 years, we are going to need to learn from minority ethnic communities with in tact tribal ties. 

We're going to need to sacrifice our independence in exchange for tribe. 

Meritocracy is dead. It only works in a homogenous culture of abundance. 

Nepotism is not a dirty word, it's simply human behavior on default settings. 

I wonder what it will take for Americans to realize this.
