It really annoys 😡 me when someone books a meeting with me to discuss something they are keen for my collaboration/advisory work and an ‘opportunity’ to work together and then proceed to give me a sales pitch.

Just tell me you want to sell something rather than lie to someone not looking to buy, and let’s not waste half an hour each?

❌ 'You cant build fast and break things in health care' is an inaccurate statement.

⚡ Something I've learnt working with a health-tech start-up (more on this very soon), is that you absolutely can build fast, test, iterate and get to deployment in lightning time (pending good old regulatory approval) and 'break' (i.e. change) existing pathways as a result.

🤝 You CAN do this when you have the right expertise mix in the team, in-depth knowledge on healthcare safety, and combine it with an innovation driven 'can-do' mindset and are able to think steps ahead, partnering with like-minded organisations.

🤦‍♂️ What you can't do, is build a solution that breaks pathways in real-time, winging it, and then go 'whoops' and go back to the drawing board.

🏥 But with the right skill-mix you can absolutely be extremely rapid in both development and deployment of healthtech. Bottlenecks in this are from my experience around a lack of in-depth experience in navigating safety or ending up following safety processes in a scripted check-list format.

🏗️ I'm making it my aim in 2026 to prove this point. You CAN build rapidly, create new processes and tech and deploy safely, rapidly.
