Our research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, culminated with a Masters and PhD in Manufacturing and Testing of 700 bar Type-IV COPV, equipping us with deep expertise in advanced polymers and 3D CAD. We contributed significantly to the development of hydrogen storage solutions, aligning with the global shift towards green energy.

Transitioning to a Project Scientist role at IIT Kharagpur, we leveraged our competencies in equipment design and material optimization. Our focus on creating sustainable energy systems underscored our commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, embodying the values of efficiency and safety in green hydrogen distribution.

In the present scenario, the world is facing the challenge of pollution control and there is a requirement for green energy.  The hydrogen-based transportation with zero-emission can only fulfill the criterion of clean and green energy of the 21st century. There are several events ongoing like as: International Climate Summit 2021-Powering India's Hydrogen Ecosystem on 03 September 2021, KPIT sparkle-2019 for FCV development using hydrogen tank, IHFC-2019 for Modeling the Hydrogen Refueling Station for Heavy Duty Bus Application, Shell Eco-marathon-2019 for FCV run using hydrogen tank, etc. There are several companies are working on the development of hydrogen storage tanks, but they are not able to qualify the criterion as RCS (Regulations, Codes, and Standards) for the approval process.
The design, manufacturing, and testing of Indigenous Type IV high-performance hydrogen storage tanks are ongoing at IIT Ropar and IIT Kharagpur. To achieve the DOE Targets for Type IV tanks as per ISO 11119-3 standard. The advanced tools have been used as Abaqus, ANSYS ACP, Tosca, Fe-safe, Wound Composite Modeler (WCM), CheFEM, Cadfil, WoundSim, etc. The Finite Element (FE) modeling predicts the number of parameters such as Strength, Stress Ratio, Permeability, State of Charge (SoC), Optimal Shape, Failure Criterion, Fatigue Life Parameters, Life Cycle, etc.
