The premise:

It’s one of my favorite pieces of wealth-building advice:

“Life like a college student as long as you can.”

Flexibility and optionality are cheat codes as an entrepreneur.

But once you're locked into an expensive lifestyle, your flexibility disappears.

The window of opportunity closes.

So take Cuban's advice:

• Live like a college student as long as you can.
• Keep renting with roommates.
• Drive an old car.
• Save.

Last week I posted an AI image of me walking with President Trump.

The point wasn’t politics.
It was authenticity.

AI is moving so fast that it’s getting harder to tell what’s real and what’s manufactured.

 Images. Videos. Voices. Authority. Confidence.

That same problem exists in the filings and compliance world.

On the surface, every company looks the same. Everyone claims they “handle it all.” Everyone sounds polished. Until something breaks.

This week my daughter took that image and turned it into a video. 

It’s obviously fake. But the message underneath it isn’t.

Just like AI is getting sharper every week, so is what we’re building at NUCO Filings.

It didn’t matter before. Now it might.

I’ve reviewed hundreds of LLC Operating Agreements.
Almost none of them have the LLC itself sign.

For years, that felt normal. Then came the plot twist.
A New York appellate court asked:

“If the LLC itself never signed… did it ever agree?”

An LLC is a separate legal person.
Separate person = separate consent.

And if the entity never agreed?
You might lose:

- Your arbitration clause
- Your liability shield
- Your exit plan

It’s not bad drafting. It’s legal autopilot.

The fix? Boring. Beautifully boring.
A ratification. A simple amendment. A signature block.

Ignore it, and you’re one lawsuit away from the judge saying:
“Nice try. The LLC never showed up.”

Your LLC being listed as “active” is like holding a valid passport
that still gets you denied at the gate.

Your name is on it. It hasn’t expired. The government hasn’t canceled it. But you’re missing a visa. The stamp is wrong.
 
Entry denied.

The passport exists.
 Your access doesn’t.

That’s what “active” means in a state LLC database.

States don’t warn you. They mark records and wait.
An LLC can stay “active” long after it has fallen out of compliance.

“Active” means only one thing:
the state hasn’t dissolved the entity.

It does not mean the LLC  
- is in good standing
- that notices will reach you
- that a lender, buyer, regulator, or court will respect it.

A state status page is an administrative snapshot, not a shield.

Most people learn this at the worst moment
- refinancing
- selling
- raising capital 
- or getting sued.

 That’s when the gate closes.

LLC compliance isn’t paperwork.
It’s permission to operate when it counts.

Active doesn’t mean safe.
It means you haven’t been tested yet.

Make sure you LLC doesn’t stand for 

L.egal. L.iving. C.rippled.

TL;DR If “active” is the only thing you’ve verified, you haven’t verified anything.
